The food and service is always outstanding. Don’t miss it when in Sonoma
Really enjoyed the service, our server was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the beverages and food. The service was very timely and overall, the experience was great. Tue only small feedback I may have is that the risotto we had was a little less savory than one would have expected. Other then that, I highly recommend this place!
We were going to eat outside but because it was a bit too sunny and warm even with umbrellas, we asked to eat inside. Very comfortable. Felt very safe with good distanced between tables.
Jane, thank you for your review & we are glad that you felt safe. We want to make sure all of our customers feel safe & having the outdoor options with the distanced indoors tables gives us a couple of options for this. Thanks for visiting us at the fig & we look forward to hosting you again soon.
Phenomenal! Truly special food with great service. Can’t wait to be back
Julia, aw, thank you! We look forward to seeing you again.
Very enjoyable experience, calm and welcoming outdoor atmosphere and the food was quite delicious. My wife and I will definitely return on our next visit to Sonoma.
We had the cartruicre board as our group appetizer. It didn't last very long! The fig date bar was just so delicious.. I ordered the quiche. I've never seen a quiche so light and airy and about 6 inches high! Fabulous. It was my first time there and we will definitely go back.
Diana, thanks for coming out to the fig. We are glad you had a great time & enjoyed your quiche (one of my favs). We look forward to seeing you again soon. Cheers! -the fig team
We always enjoy eating at the Girl and the Fig. The food and service is consistently excellent and the staff has a positive attitude. We will be back!
Mark, thanks for dining with us at the fig. We are glad you enjoyed your time & we look forward to hosting you again soon! Cheers.
We are very happy that you have "reopened" we love your little restaurant and the food is delicious...
Carl, we are very happy to be back open & are grateful for our loyal diners like yourself! We look forward to hosting you again soon. Cheers!
Great experience. Outdoors, not too cold, as they turned on heaters. Food good, except arugula salad not that tasty. Pate was great as was the steak and the frites with aoli were especially good. Butterscotch dessert was good and rich.
Waiter got a bit too close, even though he was masked, we weren't. Just my paranoia I guess as we are vaccinated.
Would love to come back soon!
Thank you very much for your feedback! I will pass on your comment about the arugula salad to the chef, but we are glad to hear you enjoyed the rest of your meal. Thanks for dining with us & we look forward to hosting you again soon.
If the parklets had more shield/higher partition (cars stopping next to you while dining spoils the ambience) I wouldn’t mind sitting along the street so much.
The food was over cooked.
Hi, we are very sorry to hear about your issue with the food being over cooked! We will pass your message on to kitchen. We hope you give us another chance in the future!
Went for early mothers day the food was great the service was impeccable, awesome vibe.
We were seated outside which we requested but on the sidewalk at a busy intersection. We were at a picnic table with benches & my 86 year old mother could have used a real chair. The service was very slow although it seemed our waitress was overextended ,
not a bad server.
The food was medium not exceptional, & it’s expensive. This restaurant has always been hit & miss in my experience. I’ve had some outstanding meals & some mediocre.
Hi, we are incredibly sorry that you had an unpleasant dining experience with us. In the future, please feel free to speak with the manager if you are having any issues regarding seating. Regarding our staff, we do have quite a bit of new employees so the service will continue to improve, but we do apologize for that. We hope you give us another chance soon & we look forward to providing you with a better dining experience.
It was my first visit and I’ll be going back again. We loved it. The service staff was great and the food delicious
A Sonoma gem
Great experience!! Food was delicious and loved the menu.
Boyfriend and I went there after a day in Sonoma. The drinks weren't bad, and the food was decent, but it wasn't worth the price.
Viki, thank you for taking the time to review us. We will pass your feedback on to the management.
Absolutely fabulous...the starter avocado tartine was so scrumptuous and our entrees were just as outstanding. wow!
Thank you for your reply. The avocado tartine is one of my personal favs! We are glad to hear you had a great dining experience & we look forward to hosting you again. Cheers! -the fig team
It was amazing
A great place with delicious food and attentive service. Ate lunch here and it was delish! Such a cute quaint cafe with quality food and friendly staff. This should be a must dine at when in Sonoma. PS - get the cookies and milk for dessert. 😉
Jarred, thank you very much for your review! We are thrilled to hear that you had a pleasant dining experience. We look forward to hosting you again soon! Cheers! - the fig team P.S. I have to hide those cookies from my daughter when I do bring some home!
Flounder was delicious however the duck confit was over done.
Had reservations but wanted to come in earlier. Walked up and talked to them. They were able to accommodate us. The server was very nice and had great food and wine suggestions. I would definitely recommend this place.
Thanks for dining with us at the fig! We are glad you had a great time & we were able to accommodate you to dine with us at an earlier time. Our servers are great resources for food and wine suggestions so we are glad they were able to steer you in the right direction. We look forward to hosting you again soon! Cheers!
Visiting from out of town. This was lovely.
It’s my wife’s third time and my first dinning here
Although I felt the menu a bit limiting there are
wonderful options. The asparagus salad was wonderful
and the flounder fantastic
Good location on square and close to lodging. Ambiance takes you to Julia child sitting in a restaurant in Paris.
I didn’t know our reservation was outside and a bit chilly that night so we sat at the bar.
Overall good experience.
We started with one of the “house” wines, which was delicious. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her mussels and frites entree. My chicken sandwich was good, not great. Could have been spicier. But overall we had a nice evening and the service was excellent.
New Creative food ideas on the menu mixed in homey favorites. Loved the fig bread.
I went with my mom and she loved it. The ambiance was lovely. The food of course was fabulous. The server was so crazy busy but very nice.
Food was too salty. shrimp cakes barely had shrimp taste. Service was poor. Only male head waiter was responsive. Waited a long time for response to requests for silverware, etc. Head waiter said he requested others bring it, but no one did.
Hi, thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. We will pass on all of your feedback to the chef & management. We have many new employees due to the pandemic so we apologize for the service. We will continue to get better & we hope you give us another chance soon. Cheers, the fig team
I’ve been wanting to eat here for a long time. The food was wonderful and our server couldn’t have been more accommodating. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Sonoma.
Rebecca, thanks for dining with us! We can't wait to see you again soon. Cheers, the fig team
It was very good, waiter give us time to visit, no rush. No complaints. SJ
Always a treat. Quality bistro food (charcuterie, tartare, quiche, mussels, steak frites) at surprisingly reasonable prices for a name restaurant on the Sonoma Square.
All dishes were a hit except the mussels were a miss.
Beef tartare was awesome. Duck confit was a little dry and very small duck leg for $24. Corkage was only $18. I recommend bringing your own wine, perhaps one that you purchased during your wine tasting in Sonoma. The service was extremely attentive.
Trish, thank you very much for visiting us at the fig! We will pass your feedback regarding the duck leg to the chef. We look forward to hosting you again soon & thanks again for dining with us. Cheers! -the fig team
Overly salty food, bitter cocktails, very disappointed overall with the food/drinks. Positives were the nice staff and outside patio.
Was really disappointed in this trip to Girl and the Fig. I'm not sure if it is what we ordered, not getting to sit outside this time or the fact that it was slow and you could really see the decor. As for the food I ordered the Chicken Thighs with Spaeztle and it was really good, tons of flavor and a perfect balance for gravy to the density of the Spaeztle. The arugula salad we ordered was also very good. This is where the good ends. My wife ordered the Pork Chop that was recommended. The pork chop was either lower quality meat or was overcooked. Either way it was just really dry and bland and a completely uninspiring dish. The sides that came with it were pretty bland as well and the most interesting / best item in the dish was the onions. Next is the decor. This place is stuck in the 70s in a bad way from a design and decor standpoint. The interiors are just stale and the restaurant needs to invest in a remodel in a bad way. They have been a pretty good restaurant and a place we would send people in the past, but honestly after seeing the interiors again and mediocre dish there are just to many good restaurants right on the square to have Girl and the Fig as a priority restaurant. Wouldn't even be top 10 on the square. Please don't be lazy and remodel and reimagine the menu. It use to be so good.
Delicious food & drink, great atmosphere and excellent service!
Perfect for a ladies lunch! So fun🥰
Trosson, we are glad you and your friends had a great time! We look forward to hosting you again soon. Cheers! -the fig team
Every dish was so amazing! We enjoyed a seasonal soup and an avocado tartine topped with trout ro and candied bacon to start. My main dish of crispy chicken thighs and spaetzle were cooked to perfection. I'm so pleased I had room for the butterscotch pot de creme to finish a gluttonous lunch outing.
Another great experience at The Girl & The Fig! Perfect service, great wine and excellent food - every course. It was great to be in the patio with a nice crowd for the reduced capacity. Everyone on the staff gets our thanks!
Spartycal, we are so glad to hear you had a great time! We look forward to seeing you again soon at the fig. Thanks for coming to visit us.
