Delicious cocktails and excellent cuisine. A must visit in Sonoma!
Good food, casual atmosphere makes for a very relaxing afternoon
Our perennial favorite in Sonoma. We have not had a single menu item that fell short of excellent. Very creative flavor pairings, and the service and ambiance are first-rate also.
I love this place. Amazing food as always but was a bit upset regarding the waiter's disregard of our warmth. When reserving our table I made sure to request that our table was in a warm area. There were some heaters near where we sat but it still was quite cold. I asked the waiter if he could move one of the other heaters near us and he said he would see what he could do. Then we watched as those heaters were moved to a corner and turned off while my wife and I shivered during her birthday celebration dinner. If it wasn't for our waiter's petty behavior regarding bringing a heater to our table it would have been a perfect experience. My advice is, bring a blanket.
The food was terrific, the ambiance sublime.
Awesome meal and great service! Fave Sonoma go-to spot.
Food was good but not as flavorful as in the past. Many groups of younger people with a few tables that had had a bit too much to drink and were loud with foul language.
The waitstaff was great
The heaters were great
Food was excellent.
My daughter and I wanted to treat ourselves and pretend things were normal . We started with a cocktail and shared the mushroom tartine - hen of the wood mushrooms fire grilled on bread with ricotta, pickled shallots and delicate greens. We each had the duck confit. It’s $24 for 1 leg and $29 for 2. I knew I wouldn’t eat both, but took the other leg to eat later! We ordered a lovely bottle of rose wine from
Cochon. We even had dessert, splitting the poached pears with rice pudding. Everything was delicious and much appreciated after not eating out. Our server, Manuel, was fabulous - attentive and his timing was spot on!
We had a memorable anniversary celebration. The food is always delicious and our server, Geoffrey serenaded us in honor of the occasion. A delightful afternoon! When we got home we discovered a Facebook memory. We ate exactly the same thing two years ago.... grilled cheese, frites and rose’. We love Girl and the Fig!
Bon voyage lunch, would have appreciated a heater without having to ask. (Didn’t know!)
Great wine — Girl Fig label Syrah is excellent. Good burger cooked the way I requested. Good Covid protocols.
Beautiful evening, had a lovely time. Great location, cozy and warm, charming ambiance.
The host was not well-suited for the job (she was not calm or measured) or communicating.
Policies the restaurant has implemented, such as not being able to bring wine bottles, aren’t communicated in the reservation details. Tip: We’re happy to play by the rules if we know them!
Another, such as refusing a certified (with displayed vest) animal was troubling.
We’re local and have been fans for years. It just wasn’t our favorite time there.
Service was very slow and the food did not live up to the expectation. Bitter greens with the duck were inedible and we would have told the server if he hadn't been so overwhelmed (never checked on us). Waited over 45m for appetizers and cocktails came after we finished them.
All around bad experience.
Our server was truly amazing and made the CoVid experience bearable.
Girl & the fig is just a lovely restaurant! The service and food is consistent which is why we ended up coming here two weekends in a row! This has turned into our favorite little getaway ( we live in San Francisco) we will definitely be back soon!
Flounder meunière was to die for!!
Another fantastic dining experience at The Girl & the Fig! We were thankful Nick was able to reserve a table for our party of nine. We were comfortable on the patio with the heater and umbrella. Our server Kelsey was incredibly attentive. Everyone was very pleased with their food and drinks. We couldn’t have asked for a better brunch, and we look forward to our next visit!
Excellent food quality and presentation. Best duck confit we’ve had. Fig salad and drinks were delicious! Nice outdoor ambiance off the plaza.
We dined outside for lunch. There was one overwhelmed server for entire sidewalk seating - seemed surprised by strong turnout which one would expect during Thanksgiving week - crowded! We were disappointed by the mushroom tartine appetizer presentation and blandness of the mushroom risotto. We wanted to order the mussels but they were waiting on shipment, which we learned after ordering white wine. Desert underwhelmed. Overall not what we’ve come to expect of The Girl and the Fig over so many years of excellence. Underwhelmed - missed the mark in our book.
Service....well it was okay
The inside courtyard was “booked” yet we saw 3-4 empty tables the entire meal. Plus they didn’t have enough heaters for their parklet area. They were all next to the empt tables inside the courtyard.
A little work to be done if they want to survive the cooler weather....
I've been to this place a few times in the past. However, this last visit was a bit off. Other than our wine, the appetizers and entrées were all served at the same time.
We were originally seated at a "picnic style" table along the curb and had asked to be moved to a regular table so we could sit on a regular chair. The host was very accommodating. We noticed that the sanitizing part was done haphazardly. The lady was looking away when she sprayed the table and chairs. Needless to say, we ended up re-sanitizing our table and chairs just to be on the safe side.
Tasty meal with excellent service, even during COVID w/ outdoor seating they did a great job maintaining a cozy ambience. Everything was served hot and the risotto was excellent, the mussels were tasty, and the garlic fries were very addicting! :)
Great outdoor dining experience. Lots of heaters. Service and food were exceptional! They even got us in early. We will definitely be back.
Girl and the Fig has always been one of our absolute FAVS! Love the croque monsieur
with the egg on top for brunch, along with a glass of the Idle Viognier ... YUM!! Service has always been top notch. When we used to come up from San Francisco for our weekend "vacation" we always looked forward to a meal there; now that we have moved to Sonoma (lucky us!), it is a destination within walking distance!
Wonderful food, friendly service and super clean. Also great use of the sidewalk space and space heaters to keep things cozy.
Sidewalk dining at its best. Under current circumstances, it's certainly making restaurants pivot to take care of business in new ways. The outdoor dining felt spacious and cozy, even if it was cold outside. Food was outstanding as always, and service attentive.
Food just not good this time.
Had the roasted pumpkin soup with the arugula fig salad - just excellent!!
Waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. LOVED the mushroom tartine and stole a few bites of my daughter’s excellent grilled cheese. Husband demolished his duck confit, and my fig and arugula salad was beautifully balanced. Nice outdoor ambience, ample heaters and it all felt safe.
Excellent food and service. Would definitely be open to coming back again!
it was a great luncheon sitting in the sun outside with great food and good service
Delicious food and drinks with very good service. COVID required outdoor seating, so dress for the weather.
Perfectly executed delicious dishes; cold on the sidewalk seating though
Food quality not quite up to previous excellent standard.
Very much enjoyed dinner on a chilly night. The ONLY thing to improve upon is getting the patio heaters to work better. So, just dress warmly and enjoy wonderful food!
I had the duck Confit, which was a little dry, the beans were not cooked all the way and it was too salty. I had to add sriracha to give it some flavor, I have never had to do that with duck. 😢 I will go back one more time to try other things as they may have had a bad day. The lavender mojito was fantastic!
The food was AMAZINGLY delicious!! This is a MUST to go when you are in Sonoma.
My croque monsieur was not up to the standards I'm used to from GandtF. The cheese wasn't melted, and on a cold night that's essential. There was no bechamel sauce to speak of, and that's what makes the difference between this French classic and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.
With the weather becoming cooler it's really key to have heat lamps that are really warm. Sadly, ours wasn't, and the moment we signed the check we made our way home because we were so cold.
I will go back because I have had such a good experience previously. I also want to give the benefit of the doubt to any restaurant that's trying to make it during these unique tiimes.
