Interior patio seating comfortable, incredible service, appealing menu choices and perfectly prepared and presented. Don't forget to order the delicious fig bread!
Steak tartare, fried chicken sandwich + grilled cheese sandwich were excellent. Thank you!
Linda gave us outstanding service. Food was fresh and delicious! back patio with heater was very comfortable. Enjoyed
As always eating at the Girl and the Fig is a huge treat that never disappoints. Our charcuterie plate with assorted cheeses, meats, nuts, mustard and fig spread was the perfect start to our meal. We could not eat enough bread with our beautifully created charcuterie. It paired so well with their house white wine.
Hubby had the pasta shortrib ragu (outstanding) and I had the chicken thighs. Our meals were so good. They have made their outdoor patio a really nice dining experience to compliment their fine food and wine. Cannot wait to come back soon!!!!!!!
Last time in the Sonoma/Napa area was a year ago so today was a date with my husband. It was perfect! Gorgeous day made outside sitting enjoyable and the foods was full of flavors. Everything is infused with figs, bubbly, salad, bread - hint the name. Definitely will return and strongly recommend!
Beautiful setup for outdoor dining. We were out on the sidewalk part of their set up (they have a courtyard with tables too) and they had it set up so that it felt completely cozy and private. We felt extremely safe and comfortable. Food and service were wonderful - we split a bottle of wine, a fig and arugula salad, and a grilled cheese and it was perfect for a sunny afternoon in Sonoma. Will definitely return soon!
Food was amazing as always. We had Flounder, Steak & Duck, all were great. Dessert was off the charts.
Food was awesome but very busy the day we we're there.
The Girl and the Fig has always been one of favorites. When we lived in San Francisco and came up to Sonoma for the weekend we would always make a point of eating there. Now that we live in Sonoma (loving it!!!), we make it a definite destination.
Great food and drinks. Even during covid the ambiance was terrific.
Great outdoor patio made comfier with multiple heat lamps. Great menu and good adult drink selection.
Beautiful evening outdoors with attentive service and a delicious wild flounder meunière. Our first restaurant experience since last March due to covid -- and it lived up to every expectation!
We intentionally chose the restaurant to support them, given recent events. We were delighted to enjoy a lovely lunch!
We had a wonderful dinner on a Sunday night. It was quiet on the streets, the ambiance was wonderful, and our server was beyond wonderful. We are locals so we will be back again soon!
Great to eat there. Service a bit rough and timing for food was long. Over 2 hrs for lunch. Will tighten up.
Had to wait 40 minutes but we were in a good mood ans it was a nice day so went with it. Hostess and waitress were great.
Enjoyed a birthday brunch with friends. Their outdoor dining was wonderful, complete with heat lamps or umbrellas for shade. The food was delicious and service was very attentive. I will certainly return.
Cookies and milk dessert was delicious. Signature dish, the flounder, was pretty underwhelming – nothing special, a plain fish dish served on top of mashed potatoes and spinach. Had higher expectations for it after what I'd heard.
Amazing food, excellent service and such a beautiful patio! So happy they have reopened. Highly recommend mussels, steak tartare and flounder meuniere. And of course the world famous salted chocolate chip cookies with a vanilla shake for dessert!!!!!
Doing an excellent job with COVID outdoor dining. The courtyard tables are in a nicer environment than the street-side tables--we waited longer for the courtyard, and it was worth it. Make a reservation--they were turning away walk-ins. Food was delicious.
A wonderful restaurant. A locals favorite.
Great atmosphere, great food and great service
One of the best in Sonoma!!
During COVID, many restaurants have abbreviated their menus, often to my disappointment. TGATF, on the other hand, retained all my favorites, so no complaints. We started with charcuterie, which is surprising easy to mess up, but not when you have experienced French chefs. The meat selection was flawless - they even had bresola! And the smoked meat with the stone ground mustard was wonderful and savory. The cheeses, the home made olives, the fig jam, the candied nuts, the fresh made pate... I felt like I was in Provence again.
My partner ordered the haddock with lemon sauce. It’s all he ever orders when we go there, he loves it and it is perfect every time. I usually get the pastis moules frites but decided to change things up and had the ox tail and rib ragout. It was a great choice for a cool winter night paired with their house Syrah, the perfect savory balance of protein, fat and acid.
We had the cookies and cream for dessert. Does anyone actually order anything else with that on the menu??
I look forward to the day they have their full wine menu back. Their selection of Viogniers was down to one. It was lovely, but they’re the only restaurant in NoCal that has a legitimate Viognier selection, and I look forward to a time post-COVID that I can obsess over that wine menu again.
Great spot, good outdoor seating options, friendly staff and very good food. Recommend trying the Brussel sprouts appetizers!
Great lunch AND dinner. Food , service excellent. This has been a local favorite for years... happy the have reopened
Always a good place to eat. We had an outside table on a cool night with our own heater
on the table. Good food-good wine.
Wonderful outdoor COVID-19 dining experience. Wonderful food and gracious service.
The food was delicious and our awesome server recommended a very good wine to go with my mussels and frites. There were enough heaters to keep you warm as you dine outside and service was excellent. Will go there again!
A terrific lunch experience for us - great cocktails and mains for our diverse group that included two young boys who ate well despite being mildly picky. It was just nice to have a leisurely lunch in great setting. Desserts - which we never seem to have - landed really well with this group too. It's hard to imagine visiting up this way and not trying to get into G&TF.
it was a very different experience having lunch here this time. Due to Covid the restaurant had done an amazing job in setting up our table was on the sidewalk. My wife had ordered a cocktail which she didn't care for and our waiter cheerfully changed it for her. As for the meal's, they always get 5 stars with us. I always look forward in dining here when I'm in Sonoma.
Dinner was good
Top notch! They’ve done a great job with the openings, closings and reopening s of outdoor dining during the pandemic!!
We have been coming here for about 4 years now and each time we are reminded why! From Mother's Day celebrations or birthdays, or even just a casual lunch after picking up wine at our favorite wineries on our way up, we always enjoy the incredible food and the friendly staff. There's something something about sitting out on the back patio in the sun and enjoying a carefully crafted seasonal menu with locally sourced items that is so characteristic of Sonoma and as nearby locals, it's always a treat.
One of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had
Perfect patio for outdoor dining. Menu, service and atmosphere most welcome relief during these times.
Delicious cocktails and excellent cuisine. A must visit in Sonoma!
Good food, casual atmosphere makes for a very relaxing afternoon
Our perennial favorite in Sonoma. We have not had a single menu item that fell short of excellent. Very creative flavor pairings, and the service and ambiance are first-rate also.
I love this place. Amazing food as always but was a bit upset regarding the waiter's disregard of our warmth. When reserving our table I made sure to request that our table was in a warm area. There were some heaters near where we sat but it still was quite cold. I asked the waiter if he could move one of the other heaters near us and he said he would see what he could do. Then we watched as those heaters were moved to a corner and turned off while my wife and I shivered during her birthday celebration dinner. If it wasn't for our waiter's petty behavior regarding bringing a heater to our table it would have been a perfect experience. My advice is, bring a blanket.
