the girl & the fig - Sonoma
favorite for both locals and visitors to the area. With a seasonal menu featuring garden vegetables, herbs, and an
abundance of creativity, the rustic Provencal-inspired cuisine allows earth’s true and natural flavors to shine.

Our server was great! She was very sweet and helpful. We sat on the outside of the patio which wasn’t the best ambiance. The table behind us was VERY loud which took away from our chill experience. Risotto was dry. Everything else was delicious!
Everything was great about this place!
I ordered the duck confit. It was served with rosy figs that were incredible!
Tender, perfectly seasoned. Option for one or two duck legs was perfect.
Ambience is slightly bohemian (which I love) and comfortable.
Food is creative and wait staff are welcoming and knowledgeable.
We will be back!
Considering covid and the need for restaurants to accommodate customers, we were seated on the sidewalk with full sun. The server attempted to move the umbrella with no relief. We also had to deal with individuals at a slush store next door that was very busy and noisy. I ordered the smoked pork chop which was very dry. My wife ordered the salmon which was just ok. Given the circumstances of covid, I would recommend the restaurant for its reputation, but don't have them sit you on the street.
Wonderful appetizer special of three figs plus my fav sweet cord ravioli. Had such a nice table in a corner. Server was attentive. We had a great meal to celebrate our anniversary.
The food was exceptional and the service was impeccable. Great wines. the atmosphere on the patio was very nice, distanced enough from other tables and relaxed.
Interesting menu, good food, good service. What more can you ask for.
Had the duck confit amd quiche Lorraine... Both were delicious and service was great!
Nice visit on the patio. Social Distancing set up. Wonderful experience, as always.
Decided to drive down from Mendocino county at the last minute for our 6 month anniversary. We were able to dine in the patio area due to the current COVID regulations. We ended up doing a 4 course meal starting with some gazpacho (super flavorful), fig and arugula salad (so good it should be illegal), the duck confit and sweet corn ravioli (absolutely perfect/delicate/textures/flavor), and roasted peaches with the house-made caramel and whipped ricotta (another homerun dish) with a bottle of GSM. Our server was a very kind young man who helped us through the experience. Definitely had an awesome dinner here with a lot of value. I would recommend this place to anybody coming into the Sonoma area.
A meal at the The Girl and the Fig is always a delight. We were seatint in the outdoor porch - uncovered to comply with the COVID-19 rules - and it was a perfect place to eat.
Every dish was fantastic and the service was impeccable, and we enjoyed a beautiful, well priced French Viognier - all in all a great lunch
Food and service were great. Perfect outdoor spot to have a nice lunch during COVID times. Everything tasted so fresh!
Perfect from start to finish! Great local wine selection paired perfectly with our food!
We just love The Girl and the Fig! Great food and beverage, excellent service! Love the patio!
Despite a very weird sewery smell that graced us at our table off and on throughout our evening this was a very enjoyable dinner. Husband had the flounder which was good. I had the duck confit which was delicious. Our table also ordered and shared the corn ravioli and fritto misto for the table and those were just okay. Nothing special. But overall a place I’d probably return!
A great meal in spite of the need to meet the requirements of our covid times. The food was excellent and service attentive. I look forward to returning when a normal dining experience can be enjoyed.
I didn't think there was anything extraordinary about the food, given the reviews.
Food and service was excellent! The reviews live up to the hype.
Everything about our meal and this restaurant was amazing! 😍
This review is influenced by the modified dining experience created by COVID-19. The seating was outdoor and along the street - close to the curb. Wasn't ideal but if you're going anytime soon be aware that you may feel close to traffic.
The food was top-notch and very good. Wife had the pork chop and loved the seasoning and the presentation. Very large chop and well cooked. I had the wild flounder and was highly impressed. Well-cooked and good portion sized. The only thing I would have wished more for was a little more spinach over the mashed potatoes.
Dessert was next and the chocolate-hazelnut cake was very good - not a huge fan of flourless cake but this one was very good. Also had the roasted peaches with the salted caramel sauce. Peaches could have cooked a little longer for a more tender feel but the the caramel sauce and almond crunch were bonuses to the great roasted taste of the peaches.
Would strongly recommend reservations as it was very busy and limited on seating during this time.
Great food - go see for yourself!
The Royal Treatment. With Covid 19 we ended up with a table on the sidewalk which was OK considering. But at the check-in, the couple in front of us complained about getting this table. Without our knowing the management was aware of this and offered to change our table to one in the garden. We had their wonderful fig & arugula salad served split for two on the first table and then the two wild flounder meunières at the table in the garden. Zack the manager went out of his way to make sure that everything was OK. Since we live in Napa we are looking forward to our next visit.
Our second time at this wonderful restaurant, the food and service did not disappoint.
They served slushy cocktails, which were so perfect for the 105 degree weather. The fritto misto with lemon aoli was awesome. The entrees and dessert were just as good!
Highly recommend this cute and delish place for any meal, or even some yummy cocktails and apps!
We sat at a table next to where people lined up for pick up. Too many people close to us and they were not able or willing to tilt the umbrella so my back was not in the sun. Seating is critical. I suggest a seat in the patio.
the ambience and the outdoor setting is about as good as it can get in this current world of Covid. Our waiter was special and added much to our experience. We sampled 8 different items from salad to appetizers to two main courses to chocolate dessert = all were excellent. The garden in back is nice and sectioned properly for this time in history. Good wine selection (plus we had a nice bottle of French champagne = not inexpensive but refreshing on a somewhat hot afternoon/ evening).
We were seated and brought a card with scan codes for a menu. My phone’s camera doesn’t work so we asked the waitress for a printed menu she said there wasn’t any. We ordered water and fries. After we were served the fries our waitress didn’t come back for 45 minutes. When we finally got our order, my Salad nicoise was horrible, the tuna looked like it had been microwaved and the salad consisted of tossed greens with onions and capers thrown on top. Not appetizing at all.
ALWAYS a perfect experience and never disappoints.
As always... Great service, even better food.
We are here during Covid for an early dinner. Everyone is nicely spaced out wearing masks until seated. Comfortable and safe experience.
They are doing a great job with the outdoor space that they have. The food is fresh and delicious. we split the mussels and the burger and it was plenty for the two of us. definitely recommend!
Our server was great and did his best to accommodate our requests. Started with cocktails. Menu listed Tito’s vodka, my husbands favorite. They no longer had it. The wine list was unusual & disappointing. There were few wines that we had ever heard of (and we are sophisticated wine folks). Food was ok but nothing special. We dined on the outdoor back patio. It was loud, many flies buzzing our table & quite annoying. Other than fine service & nice people, we were disappointed & have no intention of returning anytime soon.
Great restaurant pre COVID. Currently not as good, wait until dining room opens.
Hostess was a dope. Manager was a star. He found a way to seat our service dog on the patio.
Good for dates and special occasion. Food was delicious. We had the arugula salad, duck liver mousse with fig jam, and the mussels with fries. We also had beer and the cherry wicked slush Tables were physically distanced and we felt safe and we had the patio seating. Only issue - flies kept coming at our food so I should have brought my fly swatter.
Excellent meal and service
We had a great time and would definitely come back.
You should invest in honey. I was disappointed to be offered Agave with my Earl Grey Tea. The server told me they office only Agave because that’s what they use at the bar. I can have 10 different Fig Spreads, but no honey for my tea? :(
Every time we visit Sonoma we try and visit Girl and the Fig - always outstanding.
Amazing food as always. Fresh seasonal amazing new menu. COVID safety protocols in full effect.
Everything was quite good, except for the actual smoked pork chop. It looked to be a nice chop, bone in, however, it was dry and chewy. The accompaniments... farro, cippolini onions, and squash were delicious. It really was only the chop that was a let down.
The fried green tomato appetizer, and the fig arugula salad were excellent.
The food is terrific and exciting. The wine list is miserable, expensive and lacks local Sonoma wines. We have been there multiple time over many years and there is always this same problem.
