Beef tartare was awesome. Duck confit was a little dry and very small duck leg for $24. Corkage was only $18. I recommend bringing your own wine, perhaps one that you purchased during your wine tasting in Sonoma. The service was extremely attentive.
Overly salty food, bitter cocktails, very disappointed overall with the food/drinks. Positives were the nice staff and outside patio.
Was really disappointed in this trip to Girl and the Fig. I'm not sure if it is what we ordered, not getting to sit outside this time or the fact that it was slow and you could really see the decor. As for the food I ordered the Chicken Thighs with Spaeztle and it was really good, tons of flavor and a perfect balance for gravy to the density of the Spaeztle. The arugula salad we ordered was also very good. This is where the good ends. My wife ordered the Pork Chop that was recommended. The pork chop was either lower quality meat or was overcooked. Either way it was just really dry and bland and a completely uninspiring dish. The sides that came with it were pretty bland as well and the most interesting / best item in the dish was the onions. Next is the decor. This place is stuck in the 70s in a bad way from a design and decor standpoint. The interiors are just stale and the restaurant needs to invest in a remodel in a bad way. They have been a pretty good restaurant and a place we would send people in the past, but honestly after seeing the interiors again and mediocre dish there are just to many good restaurants right on the square to have Girl and the Fig as a priority restaurant. Wouldn't even be top 10 on the square. Please don't be lazy and remodel and reimagine the menu. It use to be so good.
Delicious food & drink, great atmosphere and excellent service!
Every dish was so amazing! We enjoyed a seasonal soup and an avocado tartine topped with trout ro and candied bacon to start. My main dish of crispy chicken thighs and spaetzle were cooked to perfection. I'm so pleased I had room for the butterscotch pot de creme to finish a gluttonous lunch outing.
Another great experience at The Girl & The Fig! Perfect service, great wine and excellent food - every course. It was great to be in the patio with a nice crowd for the reduced capacity. Everyone on the staff gets our thanks!
Always a wonderful experience! Great staff! Can’t wait to return
Chris, thanks for your review! We look forward to hosting you again soon! Cheers, the girl & the fig.
My 26x2 birthday celebration continued with your delightful salads, steak frites and yummy butterscotch pot de creme! Thank you!!
Lucy, happy belated birthday! Your 26x2 comment made us laugh! Thanks for spending your birthday with us & we hope you had a delightful time.
Unfortunately we ate outside, so the ambiance could have been a bit better due to being on the street.
I would definitely return to this place in the future.
Amy, we are sorry that you had to eat outside. We are limited with how much dining can be done inside at the moment. We hope everything else was great & we look forward to hosting you again soon.
A must go when you're in Sonoma! Everything is wonderful!
This was our first visit, and we will definitely be back! Amazing food, and great service!
The ambiance of this restaurant is great and the servers very nice. While there were very few people in the restaurant at the time we were dining, the wrong order was initially brought to our table and two dirty plates were put on our which we had to ask to be removed and replaced. There was a family at the table next to us with a young child who was screaming and throwing toys all over the restaurant. When my children were small, and if they misbehaved in a restaurant I would always take them out so we would not bother other diners. It is my feeling that the restaurant staff should have said something to this family as the behavior of the child was unpleasant and distracting.
Overall, a bit disappointed but maybe just a random bad day at "The Fig".
Jade, we are very sorry about your negative experience at our restaurant. This is not a typical experience while dining with us. We will let the management know about your feedback ASAP. We hope you give us another try in the near future.
yummy dinner with teen in tow -- he enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich while I had the steak tartare.
I requested outdoor dining since we had a visitor and we are cautious about COVID. I was thrilled at the beautiful weather as well. We were on time to our reservation, and the party in front of us was sat outside. The hostess marked our reservation and told us we would be seated inside. When I mentioned that we would prefer outside, as indicated in my reservation, the hostess said that preference to outside is not a guarantee and that there would be a wait. It was really disappointing for me and the rest of my party.
We decided to stay and eat inside because we were hungry and figured there’d be a wait anywhere. Our server, Dino, was great. However, we probably won’t be returning as specific reservations aren’t honored, especially as it’s a place we like to bring guests.
Great food and service. Well worth the price for the quality you’re getting.
I wasn’t a fan of still sitting on the side walk inches from traffic. Their menu wasn’t very big or exciting. I got a fried chicken sandwich, which was very good, but I did t travel there for a fried chicken sandwich! I wanted something unique... the food was all over priced, I think the “grilled cheese” was like $16!! I wasn’t impressed
Hi, we are sorry that you didn't enjoy sitting in our parklet area. Due to limited dining indoors, we have to find ways to allow our guests to still dine with us. We will pass your feedback on to management. We apologize again & are hopeful that you give us another chance.
The host(Elisabeth) was very rude.
The food and service, very good.
Had dinner on april 9. Good food, good service. We'll be back soon.
We love the outdoor back patio. Waiter was awesome.
Great day in the wine country.
In the past it was good restaurant with tasty food. Unfortunately this visit we were twice.
Lunch was good except desert. For dinner we have pasta and flounder. And was just OK.
We were sitting inside and interior is outdating. Mostly people are sitting outside and that probably better.
Wonderful experience!! The Steak Tartare was fabulous!! Would definitely return for the great food and friendly service.
The food is very good. The service very slow. Waiter forgot many items we requested.
Hi Mcgraw, thanks for taking your time to leave us a review. Your feedback will be passed on to management. We have quite a bit of new staff due to Covid-19 and the reopening of the restaurant after so many months. It hasn't been easy, but we will get better. We hope you give us another chance to show you a better dining experience in the near future. Cheers!
Great meal and great service! Next time hopefully we can enjoy the outdoor patio that is behind the fence. It looked lovely!
One of our favorite places to dine in Sonoma!
Julie, thank you very much for your review. We are very appreciative of your support & look forward to hosting you again soon!
Always a consistently yummy meal - this time around, I had moules and frites, creamy cauliflower soup, duck liver mousse, and the pan roasted chicken thighs. Others had steak and frites in my group, as well as the delicious duck confit. You can't go wrong with any of the choices! I loved that our waitress paired my chicken with the most crisp white wine too.
Tine, thank you very much for visiting us & we are glad you enjoyed your meal. We look forward to hosting you again soon!
Everything we had was fantastic. From the seared shrimp cakes to the asparagus salad to our (shared) main steak frites, Everything was made to perfection. Our server Linda was very attentive and helpful in steering selections. A Priorat wine paired well with our meal selection. We’ll be back ... soon!
Amy, thanks for dining with us. You picked some of our most popular items. We are glad Linda was able to help you with your selections & we will pass your comments on to her. Take care and we will look forward to seeing you again soon!
Delicious! Good service. We’ll definitely go back
Good vibes all around!
Visited Girl & The Fig with some girlfriends and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Will return soon!
Linz, we are so glad to hear that you had a great time. We look forward to your return! Thanks for coming out to the fig.
Eh and service was amazing
Great ambiance. Dino offered excellent recommendations.
Delicious food and wonderful service!
Thank you for your review & dining with us!
Always amazing, I love this restaurant. The food, service and ambiance is perfection.
We had some outstanding dishes--the flounder (paired with the Rousanne) stood out as did the rhubarb cake that was part of the plat du jour and the Epoisses (sp?) toast. The service was good and the ambiance charming.
Avi, thank you very much for your review. You are correct with your spelling of epoisses! That's definitely not an easy word to spell. We are glad you had a great time & we look forward to having you back at the fig. Take care!
Absolutely loved our meal here and the overall ambience - will be back!
Sianvi, thank you very much & we look forward to hosting you again soon! Take care.
Limited menu. Chicken was over cooked.
Always delicious! This was our third visit and were always impressed with the quality of food.
Margot, aw, thank you. We love hearing your comments & are glad that you have a great time when you come visit us. We look forward to visit #4!
