the girl & the fig - Sonoma
favorite for both locals and visitors to the area. With a seasonal menu featuring garden vegetables, herbs, and an
abundance of creativity, the rustic Provencal-inspired cuisine allows earth’s true and natural flavors to shine.
The restaurant was really lovely. They offer a red and a white flight which was a great way to try some wines I wouldn't have other tried. Food was delicious. Husband really loved the burger and I had the salmon nicoise. Needed a tiny bit of seasoning and was a bit small, but otherwise, delicious. It was considered a small plate, but I am sure they could spare some more beans and romaine!
Great Valentines lunch to beat the evening crowd. Our favorite restaurant on the plaza
The meal was perfection from beginning to end. Our server checked in frequently and gave excellent recommendations for choices and wine pairings for our meal. We will definitely return when we are in Sonoma.
Everything was perfect except for the espresso coffee, which wasn’t very good
We were seated in the garden room. Would have preferred inside seating since it was a chilly night. Food and service were outstanding.
so many good choices can never decide, often stay long enough to digest the first course and have seconds drinking wine all the time!
Had lunch on the patio and everything was delicious!
Two people in our group ordered the grilled rib eye as medium rare, but one was pink (medium rare) while the other was red (rare).
everything was very nice, as usual. however, i was disappointed with the steak tartare. the serving was very small. i prefer the beef more finely ground, and with more condiments. perhaps sour cream, not just 3 little dabs of mustard. and would have liked some thinly sliced rye instead of boring dry cardboard crackers. this was more like an appetizer, not a sunday brunch main dish.
Always a wonderful meal at The Girl and the Fig. Our waiter, Da, was excellent even dealing with meals coming out slowly. Except for the longer than usual wait for the food, our visit was as good as ever.
When in doubt get the French Bloody Mary!
I am not sure if it is something that can change. Really drunk people shouting at dinner. I think that the staff could say something so those diners who are there for the food and the experience can enjoy themselves.
For better ambience next time I go to The Girl and the Fig I will insist to be moved out of the direct sunlight and not crowded in a little corner. I would ask for a table outside or something more comfortable.
Sondra and John have created a gem for food lovers in Sonoma
Perfect lunch spot. Food was outstanding. Mussels and Bruselle spouts best ever
The food is always delicious. Best quiche.
Service lovely. One of my favorite spots in Sonoma!
Horrible experience. 40 minutes just to get drinks on the table. Bad food and bad service will never return.
We love this restaurant - our first time for brunch - very good. We come here at least once or twice when we visit the area
This place was cute, the food was delicious, and the service was amazing! This is definitely my kind of place and I want to keep coming back to try the entire menu!
Cannot beat it.
This is the best food and service in Sonoma!
The crispy chicken thighs and duck leg confit were excellent choices--flavorful and tender. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu.
Great place in Sonoma! Highly recommended! Crowdy but good food and wines
We have been here many times for dinner and it has been wonderful. This review is for our experience at breakfast. Coffee took forever to arrive. Food took even longer to arrive, and my quiche was barely warm.
Great food and wonderful service. Would love to go back next time we are in that area.
I absolutely love this restaurant. Whenever I am in Sonoma, I make a point to go. Our server, Casey, was fabulous as well. Five gold stars!
I ate here twice, once for a fabulous brunch in the courtyard and once in the restaurant. The brunch was very special. The dinner was quite good.
Hostess squished us in between 2 other tables when the rest of the room was completely empty. That drives me crazy.
Cute and very convenient place; nice heated patio. Food was good, but nothing special. Ok wine selection by the glass.
Great!! Loved the food.
Continues to be outstanding quality, fresh ingredients and inviting ambiance!
The Girl & the Fig is kind of a “must do” when we have company in town. We enjoy it but feel it’s a bit overrated. No complaints but we’ve never been huge fans.
Delicious! Felt like I was at home.
I love this place. The flounder never disappoints and the milk and cookies are too die for. Service rocks too!
Great for if you want to eat something different. The way the food is flavored is unique. Recommend the wine flights, but also great selection of non-alcoholic drinks. It is always full, so we make sure we have a table booked. Eating lunch & dinner at this restaurant 1x/year for 20 years now.
Very noisy table — they tried to seat us in a quieter area but that would have been another half hour wait. The waiters were wonderful, we had a very satisfying lunch
As good and delicious as it has ever been.
Flounder did not have much flavor. The steak was good,
Overall very good
We were celebrating a special occasion, and they made sure we had a wonderful time. First of all, we had to change our reservation time several times and they were very accommodating. There were lots of special touches from our waiter that made us happy to be there. The food was wonderful. The wine pairings were perfect. The service was excellent. A great night out. Thank you!
New Years Day tradition for us is brunch at the girl and the fig.
Our server was ok, we were seated outside on the patio and she didn’t seem overly friendly or engaging.
I really wanted the Croque Madame w/egg and béchamel sauce as I’ve ordered years past but server said they didn’t have and then went on to explain the Croque Monsieur. Yes, I know the difference ugh!! She came back and I said “I have a question” she said “I hope I have the answer” haha not. I asked for the Croque Monsieur with an egg with a side of hollandaise-sauce. She said “yes!!” Ok great, NYD brunch is saved!!
It was good but not as enjoyable as years past, could have been the young married couple sitting next to us with two small children arguing the entire time. Idk
My husband ordered the spicy Bloody Mary and it was good!! He had the grilled cheese with tomato jam but it was really a couple slices of tomato on the sandwich.
I will say, the Potato Leek Soup was kickass!! We really enjoy their soup.
Bummed we had to leave our 1 year old Maltipoo in the car as they do not allow dogs even on the patio but found Hopmonk to be super dog friendly.
We will be back, normally we eat here more than once while in town and love their green salad with blue cheese and lardons and ease into the steak frites but there’s always next time.
Make sure to get a reservation or you’ll be shut out especially, on a holiday weekend.
