    The food was good. The arugula and fig salad was delicious. The grilled cheese sandwich was amazing. My prime rib had hardly any meat on it but my brother in law’s sandwich had a ton of meat on it. That was really disappointing because I ordered it to help prepare myself for the afternoon wine tasting. I appreciated the acknowledgment of my birthday. The cookie was delicious. I was happy my boyfriend could experience this restaurant but not sure it’s worth the hype to go back.

    The service was poor; it took at least 30 min between finish of one course and arrival of the next course. The dishes and wine by the glass were overpriced, they should have been approx. 30% less.

    We have loved “the girl & the fig” for more than a decade, since we first stumbled across it at the end of the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon. Whenever we come to Sonoma area we try eat eat here. The food is very interesting & good. The fig royale is a yummy drink. The interior is interesting & comfortable. The service is lovely. And you are on the beautiful Sonoma Square, with fun shops. We have not tried the back patio-that’s next.

    This was pretty good, but was not as stellar as I thought it would be. The mussels were over cooked, the dessert was not that great. For as much as it was talked up, I was slightly disappointed. It was just a fair place to eat, in my opinion.

    Son ordered grilled cheese with no tomato. Adults got served appetizers, finished those, then adult entree got served, then few minutes later grilled cheese comes with tomato; taken away for replacement. Adults finish entrees well before replacement grilled cheese arrives; kid gets hangry in the interim. No compensation from restaurant. Not close to an ideal experience.

    Everything was perfect including wine selection, recommendations, services except the reception. Schnitzel is highly recommended!
