Overall the food service space were nice. HOWEVER the brunch was featuring a live DJ for some reason. This is a noisy space to begin with. We entered the restaurant and were assaulted by loud music. We mentioned this to the hostess who then said sorry but it is a live DJ set and the volume could not go down. Frankly it was very unpleasant. We had been before and no DJ. Whomever thought this was a great idea failed. While I would recommend this place I warn everyone about the DJ!

I went to my senior prom in the room that is the George in 1966. My wife and I stayed and put up our wedding party there. We were excepted to see the restaurant. We were worried it would be the classic hotel restaurant. No such problem with one minor exception to be discussed, everything was perfect. We started with octopus and bubbly, my wife had scallops and pork belly, she loved it as did I with the one small bite I got, my clams and squid ink bucatini were perfect, the waiter suggested a Pinot Noir which matched perfectly. The one downside was what they called cherries jubilee, it is nothing like the classic, instead it is an ice cream sundae with cherries and chocolate sauce. I would avoid it, to his credit the waiter did indicate we might have liked other desserts better. A true cherries jubilee would have worked, what we got was merely ok.

All the food, drinks, service, ambiance, and people were great except for one of the dishes. Steak Frites was terrible. Very chewy, difficult to even cut with steak knife as it was like rubbery. We even had to spit out few bites as they don't go down.

The Tea Noir is not what we expected. We bought tickets to what we thought was going to be a full exclusive experience with people dressed to impress. What we got was mediocre at best with regular patrons sitting next to us. So disappointed that even the food was lacking. It wasn’t filling nor good. I would have rather cancelled and ordered from the regular menu.

We went for the “Tea Noir” experience and I felt like the price did not reflect the quality or quantity of food and drinks we had. For the same cost of the tea experience we could have had a lovely meal at The George, but instead we both left hungry and the sad part it each of us really enjoyed The George when we had been there before. Ultimately the tea noir experience felt like a scam and I would never recommend it to anyone.

It was extremely loud in the room even though it wasn't full. We were seated at 1215 for a business lunch and didn't receive our food until 140. Over half the people had to take their food to go. Wouldn't go back for a business meal.

I'd been really wanting to go to The George since it opened and was very glad to have finally made it! The decor is absolutely beautiful and fits in nicely within the Fairmont. The service was overall nice. Our server was thoughtful and kind. We were a little surprised that it took about 30-40 minutes for our brunch starter dish to arrive. As a main, I had the crab eggs benedict. It was tasty, but I still prefer the crab eggs benedict at Toulouse Petit.

The ambiance was lovely and the staff was friendly and helpful. The menu choices were interesting, however the food wasn’t prepared as well as it could have been. The sourdough small plate was very good, and the spicy eggplant was tasty. The large plates, the scallops and steak frites specifically were not prepared well. The steak was tough and overdone. The scallops verged on the “too fishy smelling” side and were nothing special. The meat served between the scallops was extremely overdone and too tough to really enjoy the flavor. The sauce added little flavor beyond salt, which was overpowering. The vegetable that topped off the scallops was ironically undercooked and hard, and added no value to the overall dish. The baked Alaska dessert had a lovely presentation and the meringue was tasty, however the texture was chewy and the cake/ice cream interior was relatively bland. I want to love this restaurant, which is why I’m leaving what I hope is helpful feedback. It’s almost all there, just not quite. I will give it another try at some point.

We LOVE the remodel at the Olympic Bar and The George! Some of the fabrics individually would never be my choice, but everything together just works and the ambiance in both are a refreshingly old school/updated flare treat to behold. The service at the George was excellent, food was wonderful and the cocktails were divine. We all immensely enjoyed our lunch and continued cocktails into the Olympic Bar afterward. One minor miss on the menu is the Tête de Moine Cheese Plate. I'm all for different interpretations of cheese plates and boards etc, but the presentation of chunks of cheese in a bowl with a rock hard sponge toffee none of us could break a piece off of without it flying across the table was surprisingly disappointing compared to the rest of our experience. With that said, they did very politely offer to remove it from our bill when we gave our feedback on it, but we were hungry and ate most of it regardless so we declined the offer to remove it and happily paid for it just wanted to share our feedback that it was the one small miss in an otherwise perfect dining experience. As with everything, they handled it perfectly and we will definitely be returning often.

We celebrated new year's eve with an 8:30 dinner at the George. The prix fixe menu was fantastic and although not inexpensive, it was a great value. The service was very good, although slow at times. Unfortunately, the George sits just off the central lounge area and with the doors open, the sound from the lounge area was always distracting and overwhelming at times.

Went to what we thought was lunch on New Years Eve day at 2pm. Found out after arrival that they were only serving breakfast. No optional lunch specials. No drink specials. Server was angry that she had to work that day and frowned every time we asked a question or ordered something additional. Ordered crab Salad with no crab and limp lettuce leaves. Asparagus so stringy, inedible. Dressing congealed on bottom of plate. Other guest had Eggs Bennie with hard boiled eggs. Very loud room with 1970 disco furnishings. Tried to validate parking upon departure but was told only for valet parking. When I arrived valet parking was full and had to park in adjacent lot, she still refused. No thankyou for dining with them which was outrageously expensive for sorry quality of food.

The pasta dish was excellent (aside from being surprised that mussels replaced clams). However, my colleague and I ordered the beef and duck breast respectively and were disappointed by the beef being tougher than one would expect from Waygu beef and that the duck breast was done to beyond medium (I never thought to have to specify medium rare for duck because I have never had it any other way). In previous incarnations, we were always very happy with the outcomes. The new one however, might need some attention to the grill or the ingredients.

Dining at the George is such a special experience. My mom and I had a wonderful dinner here before going to see a show at the paramount theatre. The food is all so delicious. The raw seafood is so fresh and everything else is cooked to perfection. The salmon belly crudo melts in your mouth, the crispy Brussels sprouts are the perfect blend of sweet and savory, and the bucatini Nero is somehow so savory and satisfying while also being fresh and light. Of course the service is immaculate, we always felt very taken care of. The visual experience is also beautiful- everything from the art and decor to the touches of pink in the food. We’ll definitely be back soon for our next special occasion.

Gorgeous space, mediocre food and disappointing drinks. We ordered the tuna tataki, oysters, Bibb crab salad, cod, steak and scallops, so we tasted almost half the menu. No one at the table was impressed. Even the crab salad was bland. The citrus cocktail I ordered tasted like a twist on a lemon drop - yuck. The server was kind and attentive. Although I was surprised she didn’t waive my drink from the bill considering I didn’t drink it. The restaurant is stunning and beautiful. But for $500 I want the food to be brag worthy. I was so disappointed, I’d been looking forward to eating here for months.

I was very underwhelmed by Holiday Tea at The George, especially for the price. The dining room is INCREDIBLY LOUD - - not exactly 'tea ambience'. We were seated next to the bar - - also not exactly 'tea ambience'. The food itself was mediocre, certainly no wow-factor in any of the items. It's a cool idea, but in an ill-suited setting and with average execution.

Went for afternoon tea. Overall we had a great time with great service. We don’t eat pork and had submitted this to the restaurant at the time of our reservation several weeks before. When our food came, the roast beef sandwiches and shrimp on endive were missing. We had to ask for them and they finally did come. We saw some people getting the vegetarian option. That looked really delicious. So next time we go for afternoon tea, we’ll get one regular and one vegetarian so we can have more food options to try. The children’s afternoon tea service also looked delicious. I wish we had some of their desserts which looked very festive for the event (NYE). Will definitely go again. It’s one of our very favorites places.

Beautifully updated room, much more modern and bright. Food was a bit mixed, some good while some was not. Service was also inconsistent, in some ways attentive while other times confused. Unclear if we will give them another chance with so many other similar options available in the area.
