We were in town for the night and just happened upon The George. Glad we did good and drinks were great. We left to go check out a few other places and ended up back at The George. Everyone was great there.

Staff were wonderful - very attentive, personable. Food was mixed. My lamb special was delicious. My husband had the chicken milanese which he said was good but not the best he ever had. My cocktail was very good.

Always a great meal at The George. Eddie our server is fantastic and very attentive. We always end up meeting Alex the owner and have rave reviews for his staff, the food, and the ambiance. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will be joining 4 other couples on New Year’s Eve for dinner at The George.

The George was great first time going music was nice we sat on the bar side. Food was amazing and AJ was a great server she kept checking in on us and talked to us for a few minutes. I am Gluten Free and I had many entree’s to choose from. Will definitely be going back.

The restaurant looks nice, but that's where the positives end. I made reservations for Thanksgiving, and it took nearly an hour to receive our food. Although one order was fine, my order was terrible. It was missing items that were supposed to come with the dinner. The rest of the food I was served was not desirable. The cranberry sauces was not sauce. It was the juice from a can. There was about a tablespoon and a half of stuffing. The sweet potatoes seemed canned and watery. The carrots were not glazed and hard. The turkey was slathered in jar gravy. There were no mashed potatoes. After 10 minutes of waiting for the server, I flagged her down. She then told me about the items. She was rude. She then spoke harshly about me to the manager near our table. He came over offering an apology. I did not eat Thanksgiving dinner there. By the time we left, nothing was open. I Thankfully found a mobile diner. I will never eat there again. I traveled 8 hours to providence there and back in total for a horrible Thanksgiving dinner.

Food and atmosphere for Thanksgiving night dinner with my husband were wonderful. AJ was our server and she did a great job (attentive and good personality). We will be back! Enjoying the leftovers today!

AJ our server was great on Thanksgiving Eve —delivered on a good meal despite a busy night with a lot of customers and an overloaded bar. Give her a raise, and we can’t wait to see her again.

Arrived five minutes early and waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Server was friendly and helpful. Thanksgiving dinner not served as advertised, no mashed potatoes. Turkey and stuffing were very salty. Overall, a mediocre experience. Quite disappointing for a holiday.

The George is a lively, fun restaurant. A highlight of our Thanksgiving dinner there was music by Gian Carlo Bustaglia. The dinner was delicious and the wine list excellent.

The shrimp appetizer had overpowering lemon flavor. The calamari and Italian wedge were good. The swordfish was good but accompanying broccoli rabe was bitter. Portions were too big! The server was attentive and pleasant.

It was ok. Overpriced for value. Service sooo slow! We watched people who were seated after us get their apps and meals while we still waited for our apps!! If you are catching a show and need to eat in timely manner.. skip this place.

Calamari appetizer with ThaiChili sauce was delicious. My wife’s crispy chicken piccata was just ok. Chicken was tough for some reason. My Braised Short Rib didn’t have much flavor at all.

Had my birthday there and it was great! It is very quiet so having a few drinks can be tough! The food quality was pretty good over all although my short rib was very fatty. I would go back in the future

Ridiculous. Overpriced and host wouldn’t seat us until 9pm even though we had a reservation for the lounge at 8:15pm. The host pulled a table from the closet and tried to seat us there even though we were told we would get seated by the lounge. There should be a two-hour time limit to these tables, but they will seat anyone when something is empty and not keep tables for reservations. Selfish and, needless to say, won’t be returning ever again.

Food and service were excellent. Only issue was parking. We had 7:30 reservation on a Saturday night and the valet was full when we arrived at 7:20. Ended up parking on orange street after several circles around the city and caused us to arrive just at 8pm causing our friends to have to wait to eat.

While the host accommodated our late arrival, 10 min., the food and service were poor. 15 min for our drink to be served after ordering. 20 min in-between salad and dinner being served, and our food was warm. We sat in the bar area and the ambiance was lovely.

Love this restaurant. However, had to wait 30 min after being seated for our drink order. Not offered any fresh pepper or parm with our meals. Server was lovely but the restaurant was not having a “spot on” night making it a “meh”.

A very good experience…. Except that, despite having reservations, we waited an hour to be seated and the actual dinner took > 90 minutes with a 30+ minute wait between apps cleared ands mains. Not. Cool. However, our waiter was exceptionally good, the food was good (too much cheese on the pizza) and the ambiance is great.

Food & service were speedy & excellent. Didn't care for the canned pop music. Wish I had had time to listento the live music, but I needed to leave before it began. Cocktail (the George Washington) was excellent, as was the wedge salad. The stuffed mushrooms skewed sweet; I think sweet potato was a considerable part of the stuffing. Umami would have suited me better. But I will certainly be back.

Great meal (as usual). We started with the Thai Chili Calamari which was delicious. We had the Short Rib meal and the Sea Scallops meal. Both were very tasty! Too full for dessert.

The food and service was great. We had brunch before a matinee at PPAC and it worked out perfectly. Only two blocks from the theater. Can’t wait to go back for dinner and listen to the music.

Very busy restaurant and reservations were behind minimum of 30 minutes. First available seating was at the bar area which was very busy and noisy. There was a bar singer that was singing good tunes but then he allowed a female drunk patron to sing and she was not good. From that point on she would not relinquish the microphone and kept singing. It turned out to be a karaoke evening and disappointed that the hired bar singer didn’t nicely send her back to the bar to rejoin her friends. Meal was great. The recommended dessert was disappointing…tres leeches type cake.

Overall good experience! Service was excellent, Dan did a great job.! He was very helpful, checked in our table often, and was very personable. He gave us a suggestion for the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer special, which was excellent. We also got the mozzarella cakes to start which was delicious as well. For drinks we got the James Madison, Susan B Anthony, and Rosie the Riveter. All were delicious, but the Rosie was especially good. For entree we got the Prosciutto & Arugula pizza, which was very heavy on the arugula and light on the prosciutto and balsamic. It was ok, though it would easily be improved by more prosciutto and balsamic or if it had some sort of sauce that went with it. The biggest con of The George was the ambiance and noise. It was incredibly loud there the entire time and made conversation difficult. We were seated in the dining room & not the bar side, which was surprising that the noise was so bad.

Service isn't rushed, the food is amazing, our server (Daniel) was attentive and very knowledgeable. (He recited all 3 appetizer and 7 entree specials from memory without cheating!) A very enjoyable dining experience - one of our favorite 'go to' establishments before seeing the show at PPAC. It really sets the mood for a very enjoyable evening.

Had a lovely evening with an excellent waiter. Seated promptly at time of reservation Had two special appetizers - the burratta with tomatoes and pistachio was excellent. Bacon wrapped scallops were nice and smoky flavored. My husbands NY strip was cooked correctly, and I had a special of the evening which was a ribeye with a delicious cream sauce - and was a huge portion (turned out it was a 20 oz steak) at a very reasonable price. More than I could eat. The trees leches cake was also yummy and cappuccino was made correctly. Our waiter was friendly, conversant with the menu and attentive without being hovering. He had asked if we were attending the theater and he was aware of getting us through our courses in time without ever making us feel rushed. If I lived in Providence I’d be a regular here.
