   Food was mediocre, ambiance was beautiful. Enjoyed our time, but service wasn't great. Server forgot silverware after we received our dinner so we sat with our hot food and no silverware and had to flag someone down after a while. To be fair the bartender was also our server, maybe was just overwhelmed? Overall, we had a nice experience but most likely won't be back.

   Wonderful dinner on Mothers Day. Food was superb, service was excellent. Dan, our waiter was very knowledgeable. He gave us a good run down in the special menu. All entrees, swordfish, lamb and steak were really good. The calamari appetizer with Thai chili sauce was outstanding. Not an inexpensive meal, but really get what you pay for here.

   We were a little disappointed that there were no brunch options on the menu for Mother's day, but the food we did get more than made up for that. Staff were very accommodating of our little one as well.

    While the menu is nothing supremely interesting, the food (and its presentation) were excellent. But Eddie made the night for us with his very personal and very professional care of us. He also happens to be the best waitstaff photographer we’ve ever encountered! Thanks for a great night out Eddie!

    Entire experience was incredible. Came to run the marathon, and needed a good friday night meal. Service was phenomenal and the food was even better. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality of the food. Will definitely return the next time I’m in Providence

    First, the entrees were delicious. We had the roasted chicken and pork chop…both awesome! The appetizer of calamari came out cold and soggy which was disappointing. I ordered a Kendall Jackson Pinot Gris but was listed on my bill as a Vineyard Haven Sauvignon Blanc? My husband’s second beer wasn’t delivered until the end of the meal. Our server was nice enough, but super distracted. He would stop mid-sentence and stare off at another table and tell us what he was thinking about their food or dessert. It happened a few times and was bizarre. When he cleared our plates, my fork fell off the plate and clattered onto another diner’s plate at the table next to ours!! So awkward. Lastly, the noise level was almost unbearable. We had to shout just to have a conversation. While our entrees were great, the drinks, service, and noise level would prevent me from returning to the George.

    We went before a show at PPAC and the food was amazing as was the staff. I had the pork chop and my daughter had the lobster ravioli and both were outstanding. We will definitely be back!

    I'm really not one to complain because I appreciate everyone is doing their best. It can't be a home run every time, but considering this was an anticipated dining experience and the bar was set high based on the reviews - I have to share that 3/4 meals were total bombs and WAY overpriced. Special Swordfish - rubbery, flavorless and $45 market price?! The sauce on top could have been from a jar, and did not help. Apple Cranberry Salad with Salmon - $35 for an unflavored piece of salmon on top of a salad that I honestly can't comprehend how it had no flavor no matter how much I mixed in all the toppings AND asked for extra dressing. Even Chelo's can do way better. Burger - Dry and flavorless Caesar Salad - Best thing on the table yet the chicken was scorched. You know when the waitress comes over and asks "how's everything?"... Well, since the table was in a heated discussion about it just before, I couldn't bring myself to lie in the same breathe so I said it. I said it all. The consolation was "I'm sorry" (which of course I felt bad because it's not her fault) and then a chocolate dessert on the house which no one wanted because we had to leave and get to PPAC. When the bill came and we saw the market price for the fish and that NOTHING had been taken off we had to make a stink. The Swordfish came off the menu, thankfully. But honestly, terribly disappointing and really a joke to think they are getting away with this. It had to be said. Ya lost me George.

    This was our first visit to The George and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere and Staff were outstanding! Our waiter Dan simply the best ever … he explained all the specials in great mouth watering detail and he wasn’t kidding! It was like you could taste it before it was prepared!     As the restaurant filled up it was extremely loud and hard to hear at our own table. It also felt like waiter was rushing us. He was very nice but constantly at our table, ready to order (we were missing 1 in our party), do you want to go container ( we were still eating), things like that. Won’t rush back, food was pricy for breakfast. $24 for Eggs Benedict. Not my favorite.

    From the structure to the crew this was easily one of my best dining experiences ever. Our server, Dan, was easily the most positive and knowledgeable server I’ve ever had. He was able to give us a history of the building, spoke of the food so elegantly that every bite I took matched his description to a T. The food, was exquisite. Dan also described their Pasty Chef, a man who hand makes all dessert items from scratch, and they were more than fantastic. During our meal, a musician playing a wide variety of classics, absolutely killed it. After our meal, we stepped downstairs to the speakeasy where the staff, the musician, and the drinks were a perfect mix to wrap up the night. This experience has been unforgettable and I will absolutely be going back again. Thank you to The George, Dan, other staff, and musicians for making my Wife’s birthday unforgettable!

    I had the pleasure of dining at George Restaurant in Providence RI and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable - our waiter was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. What also stood out was the entertainment - from live music to engaging performances, we were thoroughly entertained throughout our meal.     we were seated at a table in the lounge/bar area, it was very pretty our waiter was Eddy he was great. It just that it was very noise the man singing was very good. It was our 48th wedding anniversary so I would have liked it to be a little quieter. please don't get me wrong it was very nice, and we will definitely go ago.

    As always, The George never disappoints. Delicious entrees and appetizers to chose from. All the drinks are phenomenal but the James Madison is one of the reasons I come back. Service and ambiance top tier and on Thursdays the owner plays his piano ! The great vibes transcend downstairs to a speakeasy.

    Beautiful location , but you can come dressed in a suit and tie , or far more casual. Food is everything from an amazing burger, to pasta, to steak. Less than a year old, but really has it together. Can't wait to go back.
