The George Hotel is a 17th Century townhouse enjoying a wonderful location nestling on the water’s edge between the castle and pier in the bustling harbor town of Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.

This magnificent building is steeped in history and was once home to the most noteworthy of the Island’s Governors, Sir Robert Holmes who often entertained King Charles II.

Excellent as always - the sea bass was delicious as was the baked Alaska . The staff are always intensive but not intrusive cannot recommend them enough

Absolutely fantastic location. The drinks prices are a little eye watering but largely compensation by how beautiful the views are out into the Solent towards Lymington.

A great welcome and a lovely setting in the garden close to the sea… all staff wonderful but confusion over drinks orders prevents top marks… food was very good if a little expensive… but you expect to pay a premium for the location… would happily visit again

This is one of the most iconic - also, blissful, and historic - settings in the country, to be sitting by the waterfront as the yachts glide past and the ferries float back and forth from Lymington. Add to that the superb service from a friendly and efficient staff, a tempting menu and exceptionally tasty dishes, and you have the recipe for a perfect day's outing.

Lovely seaside patio with excellent service. Good choice on the menu. We had salad nicoise and a burger. Staff very helpful and found us shade for the dog and a great view for us.

Booked a table2days prior but nothing was ready , the table was in the middle of a walkway as much as an after thought . We asked to move as our table was terribly wobbly. We no specific waiter was for our table and although the food came quick and was very nice I did ask for some bread which the waiter never ordered for me . After all the hype from the TV program and reviews we were utterly disappointed with the service. Very poor overall experience.

Fantastic location, great food. Served was very slow, I think it was because it was a Tuesday and they did increase the staffing levels to the gteat weather we were having
