   We have visited the George and Dragon a few times, the food is always good (not amazing). The service was also good this time, they can sometimes be a little slow. It was fairly quiet in there for a Sunday lunchtime which was a surprise.

   Really great Sunday Lunch, we all enjoyed our mains (roast beef, roast chicken and a burger) and the shared starter of Scallops was excellent. The service was perfect.

   Had to wait nearly an hour for our pre-booked table on Mothering Sunday which meant we sat down at 8.30pm, far too late for me. The food was well cooked and beautifully presented but unfortunately, the waiter left much to be desired, no please or thank you and literally throwing the cutlery and food at us. They're obviously understaffed and should have given booking windows when to get there and when to leave like a lot of restaurants do especially on "special" days. Giving the excuse that people arrive late and it has a knock-on effect isn't valid and unfair on those who arrive on time. I'm not normally a complainer but this happened the last time we visited George and Dragon a couple of months ago so won't be returning. A great shame.

   The service was very poor indeed there was quite a delay after being seated before our drinks order was taken which gave us more than enough time to decide what we would like for food as well, so when Finaly asked what drinks we would like we also ordered our food ...... the starters took about the normally expected time to arrive maybe 15-20 minutes but we still had no drinks so we asked after our drinks and a little while later they where delivered so we asked for another round of drinks and again our mains turned up at a normal acceptable time but still no second drink so when the second drink did turn up we ordered a third straight away yet it came no quicker so four drinks is all we managed to get in a 2 hour window so we got the bill with a plan to move to the bar for a speedier service but unfortunately that was not the case as the bar was covered in empty’s and the staff where very scarce we where stood behind a group of 5-6 people already waiting to be served so with no service being witnessed we left and went to the black lion and within two minutes of walking in the 5-6 group we where stood behind in the George walked in to the black lion behind us.

   Despite booking through open table and getting a confirmation email I was told that doesn't mean it was confirmed and then had no where to eat on a Saturday night.

   Great atmosphere and ambience very busy good beer and wine always friendly and professional good place to meet friends and family nice menus and food

   Although confirmed by opentable the venue did not have our booking. This was the 4th booking that had not been confirmed on mothers day. Beware

    Seeing that my table wasn’t booked and the staff at this establishment very rude. I wouldn’t recommend it.
