This was our first time at the Geneva Inn. From the minute we walked into the restaurant the view of Geneva Lake took our breath away. The service, atmosphere, and food were all wonderful. We wouldn't change anything. We will definitely be going back and have been telling our friends and family about our time there. Thank you
The waitress was clearly overworked or possibly forgetful. Two of our kids meals did not come with the rest of the food. The kitchen was blamed but considering the other things that were forgotten, I doubt that. We had to reorder drinks multiple times. The food was blah. My wife ordered avocado toast with egg whites and the eggs were ice cold. The Mac and cheese when it finally came was over cooked and kind of dry. The specialty drinks on the menu were also disappointing (thankfully they had cold Spotted Cow). The only two things that seemed good at the table was the truffle fries and the burger. This will be a place to skip next time.
Great food, fantastic view. Well worth the drive to Lake Geneva.
Great view of lake with table by window. Excellent service but limited menu.
It made our anniversary a special event for our friends for us.
Visiting town, our cab driver suggested the place, as we were hoping to find a good wine list. We weren't disappointed. Food was very good, oysters fabulous, service extremely friendly and, as hoped for, the wine list just great!
We know where to go on our next stop in town.
We went here for a romantic anniversary dinner, the ambiance and view were spectacular. The food however, was subpar. My wife's food was over cooked, while mine was undercooked. Very disappointing for the price paid. At least the view was good.
The food was unremarkable, especially for how expensive it is. Tasteless fettuccine, over-cooked shrimp. Macaroni needed salt. Filet was average. No attention to detail. Was the head chef off for the night???
Overall our experience was good ! The drinks were great and the food was amazing! The view is stunning!!! The only downside was that our server kept forgetting about us at times which was frustrating and often times we had other servers helping us.
My wife really enjoyed coming here for her birthday and I'm sure we will come back at some point.
We love to drive up to Lake Geneva and enjoy lunch or dinner at the Geneva Inn overlooking the water. Always good food, great service and a pleasant romantic experience.
Dark, Crowded serving area, dessert area looked like a pot luck in a break room, not impressed with the salad and ripeness of some of the fruit options, perhaps a waffle , crepes or pancake bar would be a nice touch, some juice or coffee present or set out as an option,,,, loved the interior renovations
Second Easter Brunch and we’ll be back for sure next year!!
A large group arrived after us and it took quite a while to get food and a check. Server was decent but not prompt.
Always love going to this place. Summers are the best, right off the boat!
Excellent environment. View from the lake is amazing. Friendly service and very good food!
Beautiful view great dinner
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner! Both service and food were top notch. We were well-taken care of by the staff. We loved the view overlooking the water & enjoyed the sunset.
We went here for a Sunday brunch, i wanted to enjoy the nice lake view, this was the main reason why i chose here. The food wasnt amazing but it was good. Service was really nice, the staff were all polite. We went there with our 3 year old son. The only thing kept my attention is that, they brought the check before we even asked, and i was actually planning to stay a bit more after we were done with our meals, maybe another drink or another coffee. The server kept coming to ask if we need anything, i asked for expresso but they didnt have it, which is fine, but i had a feeling that they wanted us to pay and leave, not sure if this was becoz we had our kid with us. And honestly he was behaving himself that day, other than this, we were happy with the place and service. But a place like that should be ‘eat and go’ , they should even encourage visitors to stay and enjoy their time.
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner! Both service and food were top notch. Best dining experience you will have in Lake Geneva!
This is a beautiful place and the staff is great. The best view of Lake Geneva anywhere.
My husband and I had dinner at the beautifully remodeled Geneva Inn Restaurant for Valentines's Day. The limited menu was pre-planned by the restaurant for that occasion. However, the entres were great choices. I had the meat filet which was excellent; my husband had the salmon and loved it. Our server, Scott, was friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back in the near future.
My husband and I had our Valentines dinner here. I was a little disappointed that they had a set Valentine’s menu and I didn’t see anything about it online. I was really looking forward to something on their main menu. However, everything was delicious and the cocktails were perfect. I had an apricot crepe and almond ice cream dessert that was to die for!
We wanted to be away from the bustling and hustling of downtown. We found a quiet and elegant spot at The Geneva Inn. The service here was absolutely impeccable. The menu attractive and everything was made fresh and tasted delicious.
Was a nice dinner. He enjoyed everything about it. Happy
All fine. Server knowledgeable and courteous.
We absolutely love everything about the Geneva Inn. The food is consistently great, the wine selection is always amazing.
Limited menu with only 10 entrees to chose from and 5 types of steaks. Price was a bit high since you are paying for the lake view.
My husband and I dined here for the first time on Saturday night. The restaurant is elegant and we were seated at a nice table at the window. Our server Joe made our experience extra special. He was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us outstanding service. We enjoyed the cheese curd appetizer and the lamb rack entrée. The rack of lamb was cooked to a perfect medium rare and I enjoyed the demi glace it was served with.
Excellent squash bisque. Small crab cakes, however, flavorful.
Cheese curds - well prepared, a more local treat. Flavorful short rib special.
Swordfish - good preparation. The only disappointing item was the local Wisconsin
icewine. It is not at the quality of the Niagara peninsula wines. Server was attentive and cordial.
Desserts included panna cotta, a good choice and chocolate cake.
Even when there is fog, the lakeside view is worth it. Lake was somewhat frozen, which adds to
the charm. It can be dangerous with water holes.
Menu was revamped in last few years. Current chef has wonderful daily specials and is creative.
Highly recommend this location. There is a relatively new management group, and they appear professional. This is a welcome place for those from Illinois.
It was my birthday and we invited our friends to join us. We all enjoyed our evening. My only complaint was my salmon was raw. I sent it back and by the time I got it back everyone else was finished. I was surprised, I would think any chef would be using a thermometer to measure whether it was done. We spent over $200.00 on dinner and I personally did not get a formal apology from our waiter. Not good business style.
We have been to the Geneva Inn several times over the years. We really miss the menu from when it was the 3 course Champagne brunch on Sundays! This is our second time to the Inn for Sunday brunch since the renovations. I have to be honest and say that nothing about the brunch menu really wowed us. We felt very underwhelmed by the selection. I really like the renovations, but I don't think I would recommend the restaurant for the Sunday brunch, which is really sad because it has always been our go to special place to go for brunch.
My husband & I went here for my 40th birthday. We live about 40 minutes east of Lake Geneva and it was well worth the drive. The location is right on the lake; atmosphere was very nice - cozy, quiet, nice lighting. It felt very private and romantic for a night out. The food was very good. My husband had the mac & cheese with steak, I got crab cakes, shrimp fettuccine and some gelato for dessert. Portions were good size (both had to take some home!), nice flavor and presentation, too. Value was pretty good - we're used to Chicago prices, so felt like we got a bit of a deal. Will definitely come back, only maybe when it's warmer outside!
We have been here many times and the service does not disappoint, however since under new management the ambiance and the food is not quite what it used to be. We always felt this was a cut above the rest in dining and liked the quiet romantic atmosphere, it just didn't feel the same and we felt very overdressed especially as people dining were wearing clothes I would do yard work in. loved our server and the wine was fabulous but there is just that BUT that would probably prevent me from coming back again for a while.
Food was average. Service was below average. Nice location with water view.
Lovely views. Food was great with wonderful selections. Wish they had flowers or candles on the tables, just to add to the ambiance. Also it was VERY cold. Yes it is winter and you are on the lake, however some heat would be appreciated. Ate in winter jackets! Overall will go again.
Unfortunely I had a party of eight at the restaurant expecting great service and food. Got neither!! Our waiter tried his best however he was working against the bartender and the kitchen. Drinks did not come for 20 min after ordering, and then came out two or three at time. Took about 5 minutes before we all had our drinks so we could finally have a toast.
Dinner was just as frusrrating, waited 1 and 1/2hours for our food to get to our table and again dinners came our 2 or three at a time. We all agreed that the lucky people who got there food should not wait for the rest of us. 2 our of the 8 dinners were tasty. Ala cart menu items were pricy, like $8.00 for French fries!! Steak was served with 1/2 of a carrot! I am not kidding!
Needles to say I was embossed and frustrated ! We will never go back again. This was the night before New Years Eve.
Our experience here was great from start to finish! Never had to ask for anything as our waitress was amazing. The food was delicious! We had a party of 8 & everybody just kept raving about everything. Thanks for making our night even more memorable!
The Butternut Squash Soup was like dessert! Amazing!
The salad dressings all tasted alike--like vinegar.
They gave us a free dessert for the birthday girl🙂
The waitress boxed up my leftovers for me☺️
We had a window table with a lovely view of Lake Geneva😊
