We went for a family lunch after my daughter's conferring. Granny (89) was very comfortable. The service is attentive and professional without being intrusive or pressuring. Calm, spacious and quiet room. Would go again, recommended!

It had been a while since I dined in the Merrion as I had always enjoyed it, on Monday night I found the standard of presentation of food had slipped.

We really enjoyed our night there. The service was excellent and Allesando was charming. Super wine list and my prawn starter was bang on! Lovely lighting but I was slightly disappointed that the Christmas lights/ decorations were not set up. I saw them last year and was one of the reasons I booked this year. That said perhaps it would have been a little early. We will be back.

When I am organising to celebrate something or an occasion the Garden Room at the Merrion Hotel is always my first choice . Afternoon tea , weekend lunch or dinner one evening it is where I know my guests, family and clients will be well looked after from the moment we enter to when we must leave .

Went to celebrate our son's masters graduation. Really fantastic service and a lovely touch at the end when they gave a plate with chocolates and congratulations written on it. Food was lovely and a choice to suit everyone. Lovely atmosphere also. We will definitely be back

Beautiful room - stunning in fact. An impressive place to bring anyone.

Food doesn't quite live up to the surroundings however. Cold plates and pretty mediocre food.

If the food itself isn't a priority then this is a perfect afternoon.

Everyone at the Merrion hotel were professional, from the moment we arrived at the door, Concierge brought us straight to the Garden Room. We were treated like royalty.
We got seated at our table and the service was excellent. The food was fresh and beautiful. The ambience was plush and so inviting. Finished our evening at No.23, with a nice relaxing drink.
Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. Amazing staff.
We will surely be back for the lovely atmosphere.

Birthday experience for my husband was perfect

First time in the Garden Room for lunch. Was excellent. Staff were very nice and very attentive. will definitely be back!

The Black Sole was dry. The Salmon wasn't great either. The duck and the sirloin steak were very good. More effort is required to bring the food offering up to the standard that the room and the staff present.

I bought an old friend for a catch up as a treat. It is such a nice place. Yes, it is expensive but it is worth every penny for the soft friendly and genuinely relaxed ambiance. This is in a five star hotel but there is none of the stuffiness one can encounter in such places, you just feel welcomed and very much at home. Love it! I'll be back for treats with my daughters and my nieces and my friends.

Everything was good except food on one plate cold which is never acceptable. We didn't complain as it only destroys ambience of occasion

This is my first time at the Merrion Garden Room and I cannot wait to go back. Everything was excellent from the wonderful, friendly staff to the menu which catered for all tastes. I loved the spacing between courses and the relaxed atmosphere.

Appalling level of service, numerous different waiters, no interest in us at all, could not be bothered to pour out wine. First 2 courses could not be eaten because they arrived cold. Restaurant manager mainly focused his attention on one customer and studiously ignored us even when major problems were pointed out. It was such a shame. This is a fabulous hotel, with (other than this restaurant) delightful and thoughtful staff, the restaurant itself was very comfortable and attractive with lovely views from the windows, and ideal setting for a meal. The restaurant needs a new manager.

I had desided to dine at the Garden Room 3 out of 5 nights, I am dining there 5 out of 5 nights . I think it says it all 😊.

Food and service were excellent

The service was very good and the room is lovely but our lunch was let down by the food. The chickpea cake was tasteless. We had the lemon meringue and the lemon curd looked as if it had split, strange taste.

As always, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch in The Merrion.
We were particularly impressed by our charming young waitress, Louise, from Tours in France, who looked after us so well.

Full disclosure: I have a professional relationship with the hotel but on this occasion I treated my sister and an American friend to lunch which was memorable for all the right reasons. The interiors, the garden views, the food, and polite, efficient service make for a five-star experience.

The staff in the Merrion are outstanding, finding the perfect pitch between top service and friendly rapport. My family and I have always gone there for special occasions for both the beautiful setting in the Hotel and the high standard of care. I last was here with my mum to celebrate my engagement and we could not have been treated any nicer or more kindly by the staff, with the manager Kate also coming over to pass on congratulations with complimentary treats. I would recommend to anyone.

Our second time to have lunch at the Garden Room and in both cases we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food is very good, the service professional and the ambience is excellent. Only criticism is that I would like to see a more extensive menu.

The Garden Room ticks all the boxes. We enjoyed a lovely setting, top quality service and wonderful food. Couldn't have asked for a nicer evening to celebrate a birthday.

I booked for seven people a couple of whom had never been to the Merrion before. They all loved the food, the service and the ambiance. The occasion was a farewell to one of our group so I wanted the lunch to the special and it was. Thank you! I'll be back again on 3rd October!
