Very disappointed pre booked as staying hotel for 2 night's. Limited menu on list but ordered starters and mains. The waitress came back after 5mins to advise that both starters and mains not available they had not had a delivery. Surely the waitress should have been informed before handing out menus. One of us ended up with a soup which was like wallpaper paste and cheese and biscuits and the other a burger our night was spoiled We would have been better off bringing a sandwich with us for our evening meal. The breakfast the next day was better but after hunting for the marmalade was told we don't have any. Really need to get their act together. They don't seem to cope. Sadly we won't return
Lovely food served by helpful young people in the gorgeous garden. We received a warm welcome and were able to choose where we wanted to sit. Staff were attentive but we did not feel under any pressure to finish our tea. The food was all homemade and the scones were particularly light and delicious and served with plenty of fresh cream.
The experience was ok, food was ok. Service was pretty poor. Had to request the discount, also wasn’t warned in advance that you can only have hot drinks included in the afternoon tea, which is fine but a warning would’ve been nice
I had booked an afternoon tea for a belated mother’s day present. The food was lovely and the staff friendly. Would highly recommend.
Very dim lit restaurant. Only white bread. We had to ask for our tea before they served it ! As it was an afternoon tea we did expect this without having to ask. Lady was kind and polite and gave us boxes to take any leftover cake home. Not enough savoury, I had half a scotch egg. Don’t think I’ll return
The food was delicious and the staff were lovely and attentive. Definitely will return.
Disappointing afternoon tea. Very tired surroundings. Service from staff indifferent. Would not go again.
Excellent afternoon tea and first class service, would definately go again
Very nice people there was no noise at all I could not understand your gragh !we are thinking of having an Anniversary meal there in August
It was a very bad experience! We had our booking/ we got an email to confirm our booking and when we went there, the restaurant was closed!
I would imagine that the booking system will be closed if the restaurant is closed?
We were a group of 4 aiming to celebrate a special occasion...It went really wrong, very disappointing. For those who have a booking in this restaurant before June, please be mindful of this.
An excellent afternoon tea. We loved it and there was almost too much to eat; however we persevered 😉🍰
Delicious afternoon tea and lovely quiet place to eat it, seemed clean and people were well spread out to achieve good distancing. Service was a little slower that ideal but we still had a lovely time.
Sadly we ate in there 5 weeks ago and it was the best roast we had eaten out, the staff were amazing. So we booked to go again and it was like a different place. The food was certainly no where near good and the staff were different and a bit bland. Sadly I will not go back after that
Very poor, food was definitely microwaved and bland.
Service was ok - just one guy - however only three tables!!!
No atmosphere at all- will not be returning!
Food and service are very good. Limited menu for an evening due to COVID. Hoping they will still be able to open at Christmas in these dynamic changing times of COVID. We had Christmas dinner here 2 years ago and hoping to do the same again this year.
Good value bottomless brunch, lovely waiter and reception staff :-)
A very lovely hotel, beautiful grounds, great food and very attentive service! Came for prosecco brunch would 100% recommend!
Cisswood had recently reopened so decided to give it a go for Sunday lunch.
Enough of a choice of starters.
They offered two roasts (Pork or Beef) and a vegetarian option and nice food.
Wasn't keen on the dessert options for my personal taste (as not keen on chocolate), but sure others would love them.
Staff friendly and overall would go again in the future.
Had a really nice set menu, 3 courses for £25 which is great value for money. Nicely presented and very tasty. I had the beef for my main but could’ve done with more vegetables to be honest as literally just beef on the plate. Deserts were beautiful & could’ve had more! Staff were really attentive, friendly and welcoming. Was an overall lovely experience.
The bar staff was very nice and friendly and chatty. Parker.
The roast was pleasant enough, could have done with more potatoes. The veg and cauliflower cheese was good. Thank you for a nice experience.
Unfortunately there was egg shell on the sandwiches which was off putting
They also arrived on a wilkos plate
Scones were lovely and light
The staff were attentive
Delightful restaurant, lovely ambience with a cosy log fire, very comfortable. Fish and chips were excellent, crunchy batter, worthy though of proper peeled and fried chips rather than the frozen offered. The staff are a credit to the restaurant offering a excellent professional yet friendly service. Will visit again. .
All the food was lovely and the service was very good.
Menu choices limited and unexciting. Sample menu online looked great so was very disappointed with the limited choice on the night. Wine was warm not cooled.
Booked Black Friday Deal and wasn't disappointed. brilliant service from beginning to end and the food was to die for. will definitely be going for Sunday lunch again.
Went for the prosecco brunch, such good value for money! £19.95 for a large portion of eggs royale with heaps of salmon, a generous portion of crispy potatoes (quite a few choices on the menu too) and 2 bottles of prosecco for the two of us. The restaurant was empty when we got there so we could sit where we want, the waiter was very nice and attentive, filling our glasses often. The only slight negative is the eggs were slightly cold, but they were cooked really well and the muffin was warm so I didn't mind too much. It all tasted good regardless! I'd definitely go back if I was in the area again.
We had a lovely afternoon tea, generous and amazing panacotta!
Terrible pie of the day - soup in a cup with thin pastry top
Server did not seem very interested - did not ask how the food was
Disappointing and embarrassing experience. Booked a table here for my friends 30th birthday and ended up walking out. Arrived and the restaurant was empty. No staff, no waiters and no ambiance at all. Waited for 10 minutes and then had to go looking for someone. Eventually a man arrived, looked confused and then told us to wait and walked off. We stood and waited for another 30 mins (and I’m heavily pregnant) and he didn’t bother coming back. When we’d decided we’d had enough and we were getting ready to leave, he came back but walked straight past us not saying a word. No apology, no explanation, nothing. What I was hoping would be a great and special experience for my friends birthday was a huge embarrassment. We ended up going somewhere else for dinner. I have a lot of friends, family and connections in the area and I will not be recommending Cisswood to anyone.
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish at Cisswood House Hotel to celebrate my mother's 90th Birthday on Saturday 11th May. The staff were amazing and could not have done more to ensure that every aspect of our time there was enjoyable. We would like to thank the team involved - they made it a perfect experience for us all. Thank you so much!
Have been before outside of Mother's Day and have loved every aspect. A bit disappointed that the quality dropped so significantly, particularly the service, on a busy day.
Our waitress was lovely and the food was fine, I had a Ceasar salad as a main, which was fairly small, but tasty, so could have been a bit more generous. The restaurant is a bit dated, obviously a mid-week booking isn't going to be busy, but we were the only people in the restaurant & we did have quite a long wait for the food. I think at the weekend it's probably a lot more vibrant, but it strikes me as first and foremost a wedding venue, so that's their priority.
Staff were very friendly and attentive, food delicious
My Husband booked the table as a surprise for me for Sunday lunch. (it was his turn to cook)
the food was lovely and the service perfect. The staff were very friendly, Tom was very accommodating and the lady in the black and red dress wearing glasses (sorry didnt get her name) was very welcoming and took time to stand a talk with us. Such a shame you dont let dogs stay as we would love to book a room but cant leave Princess the chihuahua at home. The gym and spa looked fresh and clean and we are hoping to join as members soon. the electronic candles were nice and looked very real, I had completely melted the top of one with my cigarette lighter before my wife showed me the on of switch
I took my mum and dad for their 30th wedding anniversary, we had afternoon tea and had a lovely afternoon - would highly recommend.
Such friendly staff, afternoon tea was lovely - lots to fill you up! Can’t wait to have my afternoon tea at my wedding 😍
Food was very disappointing. Risotto was watery and the slow cooked pork belly would serve well as a shoe sole.
Had the fixed price two course lunch at the Cisswood Hotel near Horsham. It was quite enjoyable though we were the only two eating and the portions a little small. Otherwise good value and service.
Garden Restaurant, Cisswood House Hotel - Although Table d'hote seemed ok it was not to my liking so was able to choose from A la Carte menu. The staff could not do enough for us and the food was pleasant and well presented. If in the neighbourhood would visit again as good value and dining room allowed for tables to be private.
Delightful gastropub style dining, all three courses well executed and delicious. Service courteous and friendly. Would definitely return.
