Legendary. Amazing food! Fantastic service
What an evening! My fiancé and I were warmly greeted by the valet and were pointed towards the entry. Upon entering, the hostess was quick to welcome us and assured us our table would be ready soon (we arrived early). While waiting for our table, we enjoyed perfectly made cocktails on the terrace overlooking a beautiful mountain scene. Our dinner was the best I’ve had in the area (resident for over 6 years). The fried oysters and duck breast are both a must have! Fantastic wine menu as well. We can’t wait to return. A special thanks to Kappa for setting the tone with an awesome attention to detail that made for a memorable experience.
We had our 20th anniversary at the Gamekeeper and had a wonderful time. We were seated right away and the food was delicious.
Always exquisite , always delicious in every aspect Do yourself a favor and indulge here .
Driving through the mountain to find this gem was quite fun actually. The valet parking was a nice surprise. My reservation was delayed, but the restaurant comped us an appetizer to compensate. The service and food was beyond amazing. The music was a little on the loud side, and there was another patron of the establishment that was excessively loud, including frequent slapping of his table. This was never addressed and caused a slight disappointment with the overall environment of the restaurant. We expected something a little more intimate for an establishment regarded as a romantic dinner getaway.
From the valet attendants waving us in to the staff and ambiance the evening was great! The meal was perfectly prepared and served and the mountain setting was ideal.
The mixed grill appetizer was great as usual! Also, tried different side of the bacon potato croquettes that were outstanding! Whole dinner was excellent!
We came for our anniversary. We are in our 60s. The service was excellent and experiencing the new foods was fun. The food was prepared and presented precisely. Overall our experience was great and we plan to return soon. We are not normally big spenders but we're happy and prepared to pay the bill. We were a little surprised on entering the building. Having been advertised on the website as "one of the top 100 romantic" spots in the country, we expected the outside of the facility to be a bit more "inviting". The lower entrance and pond area could use some work. In closing, we give a harty thumbs up to everyone.
Excellent as always, the food and service is always the best.
My wife and I went for our anniversary the staff was very pleasant we had a great experience and we will go back!!!!!
A very special place. Paris in April theme was appreciated. Fun change to the menu. Service was stellar. Pricey but well worth it.
I like the place. The table and chairs lacked charm and seemed odd and utilitarian for the theme of the restaurant. Outdoor dinning was wonderful. Service was courteous and punctual. Food was good.
We had a wonderful experience at The Gamekeeper. Our server was attentive and gave recommendations that were spot on. Many thanks to Jackson in the kitchen for a delicious addition to our meal. Thank you for a special evening!
We really enjoyed our dinner at the Gamekeeper. The food was great and the restaurant is beautiful. They had a busy night and everything was handled perfectly. We will be back when we are in the area.
Birthday celebration for 91 years young mother in law. We knew that dining here would be as my husband and I expected, superb. From the charcuterie and escargot starters to the duck, bison, bouillabaisse and beef tenderloin entrees; we sent the best compliment a chef could ever ask, empty plates.
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, incredible food!
Gamekeeper is our “GO TO” restaurant.
A very special place in the mountains.
Wonderful! As always an amazing gourmet experience!!
We enjoy the scenic drive to the restaurant, quaint bar area with eclectic decor, friendly staff that goes above and beyond, and of course the creative/delicious menu that stands out from most restaurants in the area! Favorite restaurant in the high country!
The BEST dinner that we have ever had! From the bartenders, to the hostess, to the waiter. We are beyond pleased with our entire experience. The food was TO DIE for! Every single dish was hand prepared and the quality was more than we could’ve ever expected. We cannot wait to come back! Best dinner experience we have ever had, hands down ❤️
One of the best dining experiences we have had in a long while. Server was great, very knowledgeable about the menu.
Everything was wonderful! They were very accommodating when we asked to move to a table by the window. The service and food was so good! I had the duck....one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. My children enjoyed it, too!
As usual the experience was excellent from beginning to end! Ken and Wendy have mastered the art of food perfection and never disappoint. You must try if you have never dined here!
Food presentation and preparation accompanied by an outstanding staff was superb on every level
Well worth the trip, they did a beautiful job and love the setting!
Always a wonderful restaurant and the April in Paris menu is great. Stay away from the cheesecake for dessert however.
Outstanding. I've been lucky enough to dine at The Gamekeeper several times in the past 2 years - never disappointed.
A great choice for our 60th anniversary. The entire staff was so nice that they almost overshadowed the delightful food. We stayed in Blowing Rock and the drive was shorter and easier than I had expected. Our wonderful server was Morgan.; I'll ask for her when we return. The place is not cheap but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.
My husband and I had dinner on our anniversary at The Ganekeeper. The service was amazing from the valet to the server. The food was outstanding. We can’t wait to go back!
It was a little loud after an energetic group arrived, but, as always, truly a five-star dining experience.
Perfect restaurant for the occasion. I’ve heard about this place ever since I’ve lived here and had the opportunity to go. Everything was great.
A great meal in a wonderful location. We’ll be back again soon
My husband and I came here for a 1 year anniversary dinner. They made it effortlessly special with their customer service valeting the car and getting you into the restaurant, the sign they added to our table with "happy anniversary" all with me just leaving a comment in my open table reservation, and the servers themselves being knowledgeable about the menu and providing recommendations as well as capturing our photo ops as the sun is setting. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to celebrate any special occasions.
What a magical place for a romantic dinner. Wonderful service, amazing food, charming ambiance, beautiful sunsets. Can’t wait to go back. This gem never disappoints.
In my opinion, it’s one of only two outstanding restaurants in the mountains. With a superior menu, a terrific wine list, a cozy ambiance and personable staff, you just can’t beat it!
Excellent place with fantastic food. Highly recommend when in the Boone/Blowing Rock area.
We’ve been going there for a number of years now and this was not a good supper. I was very disappointed this trip, but we will be back again.
Great restaurant with awesome food.
Made a reservation, arrived 15 min early 30 min wait at the bar. Not enough seating in the bar. Service was sort of lacking considering the rave reviews. Dinner was excellent
Excellent food and service. This is our favorite place to dine in the High Country.
