It was very fun, very loud, very delicious. The flavor and potlrtions of the food was divine and really made my m-i-l's birthday dinner a success! Too bad it was the last time that restaurants were open, but now we have the carefree memories forever.
Average all around. Went for Sunday brunch. Very loud space but cool decor
Friends Bday brunch
The truffle fries were the best I've had, and the burgers are some of the best in Boston.
Sazerac cocktail had no Pernod or absinthe wash. The poutine had little to no cheese curds or gravy. The fried pickles which had a decent flavor were limp not crisp. Total disappointment, a fellow foodie friend had recommended this restaurant. Too bad it fell flat.
Went with my wife for the first time, and we loved it! We went during the brunch time, and got a Chicken and Pancakes, and the Sunrise Poutine! Great flavor! Great Atmosphere. Next stop Dinner time!!!!
We had the chicken and pancakes, the chicken had a great batter that was the perfect crunch. However the chicken it’s self was bland and the pancakes were flat.
Bad fat food, I am sorry to say that. Reminded me some old sticky pub in Allston area. Invited friends from Providence for brunch and I was embarrassed for making this choice
You have outdid yourself with the cocktail menu Gallows! Everything was delicious and everyone was so attentive and helpful. Thank you!
The Gallows is an awesome place for a delicious dinner and fantastic creative drinks. We went for a post-valentine's day dinner and it was fun and romantic. It is always energetic and feels like the place to be. We were able to sit and take our time and never felt rushed. It was a fantastic night with fantastic food.
Not sure, the burger and attention were from be, but nothing to write rave reviews about.
Fantastic as usual
Best apple endive salad and wonderful craft cocktails
Perfect service to cap off a terrific brunch
It was really great. Got a drinks while we waited for our table with no problem. Great cocktails. Our waiter was nice. The food came out so quickly and was amazing! We both had burgers and poutine and best food we had in Boston. Their desert was equally as great. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Boston.
Fantastic food and burgers. We loved our service too
Very loud. Burgers were good. Poutine could have used more gravy and cheese. Our server didn't tell us our burgers came with fries (and the menu was not clear) and she let us order like 10 lbs of potatoes. A better server would have given us a heads up.
Food isn’t to die for, but very good, reliable spot
Food is incredible. The poutine was amazing.
Food was delicious! The people in there were weird but the waitstaff was accommodating and pleasant! The ambiance is very nice, though the noise level is a bit high. The high ceilings and wood paneling makes for a very inviting yet unusually chic feel, our table had a great time!
Loved the classic poutine!
Excellent excellent my only ever feedback on this single stalled restrooms don’t need to be gendered
I and my dining companions had wonderful meals at The Gallows -- a fish dish, burger, and a pasta dish. As diverse as these dishes were, each was really delicious, well prepared, and presented exquisitely. Our waitress was really solicitous and didn't rush us (on a busy Saturday night). Drinks were mixed properly but served in kind of small glasses. It's a fun venue, but don't go for a quiet, romantic evening -- the noise level is off the charts -- but I'd definitely go back.
The weekend brunch was awesome. Try the Chicken and Pancakes you will not be disappointed.
This was bar none the best burger I have ever had. The decor in this place is awesome too! Very fun date night, highly recommend.
Excellent food and amazing service. Ambience is cool.
Fun place for Sunday brunch with friends ..
It was a bit loud but really liked the atmosphere ! Wait staff very attentive..
We stayed for a while and did not feel rushed
Incredible food, delicious drinks, very cool ambience and mood. Great music of all different genres (kinda loud though). Great vibes
Went to The Gallows for a NYE dinner with my boyfriend. The inside of the restaurant right off the bat is aesthetically pleasing, and the place is clean and super cool looking. The service we received we great, and we were never left waiting a long time to receive drinks, our food, etc. We both got the prime rib which was AMAZING and so delicious. Great date and a great place!
Great service! My husband and I love going here because of the ambiance, drink/food menu.
Average. Nothing special
The place was awesome. Loved the decor
The wait staff could not have been nicer
The food was excellent and I loved the cocktails
Would highly recommend this place. Will be back
Brunch with the teenage kids was a success. There was something for everyone and great drinks.
Visiting overall had a good experience
Excellent food in a chic atmosphere. Will definitely return!
There was a special event at the bar that was extremely loud so unfortunately, the tables in the dining area had to talk loudly over that noise so the experience overall was quite noisy. The table next to us asked if the restaurant could turn down the music but they said no. The food was good but a little overpriced. I got the Gretchen Weiners drink which was yummy. Overall, I would go back but maybe not on a Friday night where it felt more like a college bar than a $50 pp restaurant.
Great service and great food.
We had a excellent evening with delicious food and fantastic service.
Interesting decor. Compact interior but seating did not feel cramped.
Noise level makes conversation challenging.
Food, drinks and service makes up for any shortcomings. Good mix of upscale gastropub foods with nicely prepared entrees- I had the gnocchi which was one of the best I’ve had even compared to Italian restaurants.
Cocktails and draft beer selection very creative/diverse.
Only one dessert (Stoners delight) but it’s a must.
Highly recommended.
Service was good. Food was also delicious. Had the humus burger and it was tasty and filling. If you don’t want a burger, the menu is pretty limited. Otherwise, good food!
Yes, I would definitely recommend to others, but they need to know the noise level is high. Not great for an intimate conversation.
But for a boozy lunch such as the one I enjoyed last weekend, it was perfect!
Food was awesome! Not for someone on a diet but delicious. Bloody Mary’s were really good. Not cheap but it’s Boston so comparable to other restaurants with same quality food/service.
