Great lunch option. Food was good, service is quick, and we loved the mildly creepy decor.
The service and the food are always fantastic
Wonderful staff, amazing food and cocktails, cool environment!
Great food, limited menu though. Service was great!
Great food and service. Very cool space. Brunch was delicious; interesting options. Can't wait to go back and check out the burgers next trip to Boston
Delicious food! Service was prompt, brunch at the Gallows was so yummy!
The food was fantastic! Very unique menu and drink selection.
We had a graduation lunch at the Gallows with a large group. The staff was very accommodating and the food was very good. It was a wonderful location away from the crowds and noisier restaurants.
Amazing food! Great wine, friendly and attentive service. Nicely decorated and lit. The noise level was high - we came on a Wednesday at 20.45, and it calmed down around 21.30 which was nice.
Loved it! All the restaurants in this group are great, and I loved how the gallows worked Blackbird Donuts into their brunch menu. The breakfast sandwich with the everything bagel donut was delicious!
Came here with high expectations given reviews and word of mouth. Found it to be very underwhelming. Buffalo Brussels sprouts were very good but otherwise the food was just mediocre. Burgers tasted ok but were cooked to oblivion. Not what you would expect for a ~$20 burger. Drinks menu was odd and limited. Overall I was disappointed and do not get the hype at all.
Food was exceptional. When I asked for some diet accommodations they bent over backwards to make the meal work for me. Wait staff super attentive.
Every dish tasted like it was marinated in butter— from the burgers to the roasted chicken to the short rib. The poutine was incredibly salty (we got two different kinds). And the service was making mistakes —delivered Pinot Grigio instead of Pinot noir, had the kitchen put extra pickles instead of no pickles. They did what they could to remedy the errors but man. When you pay $20-30 per dish, you expect a little more. The Stoner’s delight is the best thing they got going, as well as cocktails and ambiance. I won’t go back there to eat. Just for a cocktail or dessert.
Really great food, excellent service, cool decor. Would return and would recommend.
It is a relaxed place with great food and drinks. Lots of unique twists on classic entrees. Drinks are a bit expensive but good. I would definitely come back here, good date night spot!
We looked for a “fun” place to take out 21 year old son to dinner - that’s how we ended up at the Gallows. The food was fine but the severed hands hanging over the bar and the heavy metal music didn’t do much for us. It was fine but I wouldn’t rush there and we joked that under no circumstance should you go there for a first date or anniversary or Valentines celebration
Food was underwhelming, decent cocktails. Poutine was probably one of the worst we’ve tried in Boston. Fried chicken was terribly dry. Nice waitress.
Awesome per usual
While the poutine didn't quite hit the mark, overall, the food was pretty good. That said, I AM a poutine snob, so my expectations are probably unfairly high. Very cool place with good drinks. Definitely a late night spot!
The apetizers were amazing but the entres were lacking if you didnt want a burger
I don’t know what all the excitement is about. The burger was pretty average, the fries were dark and soggy, and the poutine was not something I would order again. The cocktails are inventive, and the wine was good. It sure is noisy, with all the hard surfaces. The servers are kind of friendly and kind of helpful. I think it may have been amazing in the beginning, but seems to be sitting back now.
Good brunch/lunch spot. Recommend the Kale Salad and Breakfast Tacos. Only downside is that it's noisy - a bit hard to have a conversation without raising your voice.
Way too loud. I asked three times for them to lower the blasting music and the barely did it. I had to scream across the table to have a conversation. Very annoying and inconsiderate
the décor is amazing and our server was great. The food was off the charts amazing, loved the poutine and the arancini. It was such a great place to have dinner and drinks. My only gripe? Me and my girlfriends were seated at a table that was surrounded on all sides by other tables and a railing barrier. Made it next to impossible to get out and use the ladies room without knocking into a neighbors table. I guess next time I will just ask for seating by the Ouija board?
very loud and trendy, the food was good but not great for 100+ dinner (2 burgers + drinks) I should not leave thinking about the check I should leave thinking about the food or what I am going to try next time.
Gallows falls short, again it was ok but ok will not get me back a second time in a City with so many options!
Food is nothing out of the ordinary, the prices are extremely high compared to the quality.
delicious food, enjoyable vibe and we had a great server
This is a very cute atmosphere, and probably great for cocktails. The drinks are strong and awesome, and its a fun place to hang out. The food, however, is pretty average. I wouldn't recommend going here for more than drinks and an app or two.
Great food and great ambiance!
this is a great place, love the decor and has really good food
We were all really disappointed in the food. Expensive, and totally flavorless. Chicken was dry- burger tasted old and dry as well. Waitress stuck her finger in my boyfriends beer by accident. Just a waste of money and a night out. Good for drinks at the bar, but nothing else really.
The breakfast sandwich with the everything bagel donut was unbelievable. But the pancakes and chicken were incredibly disappointing. Both the pancake and chicken cutlet were stale and dry.
Great non-fancy food, the Touch of Death rye cocktail was exactly the no-frills Manhattan-type drink I hoped it would be, atmosphere is very cool!
Great food!! Gluten free indicators which were AWESOME. Great ambiance and very fun
Menu is unique and very well done. Service was excellent with a fun atmosphere. Loved it!
Food was solid. It was on the pricier side, which isn’t a problem, but for paying good money, don’t expect the servers to let you enjoy your final drink for long. They really try to rush you out of there (even though there was enough seating and not a long wait).
The whole experience was great. The staff were attentive while not over bearing. We had:
1. Scotch eggs - OMG, fav of the night.
2.Arancini Balls. - very good , great aioli
3. Curry Poutine - was OK. In hindsight would go with the regulars gravy
4. Short ribs - soooooooooo good. Melt in your mouth.
We also had a few cocktails each and a reasonable bill if 100 dollars.
We will go back for sure.
Our server Patty (sp?) was terrific! Very friendly and attentive. The food was incredible, one of the best burgers in the city!
Menu is very heavy, high calories and fat.
