Waitress Debbie was wonderful. Attended to us with great service after a long day. Food was excellent. Very loud gatherings tho
servers are friendly and efficient but the food was school cafeteria quality. I hear they have good desserts though.
Nice local restaurant. Ravioli was very doughy. Plate size for prime rib dinner presentation was too small where we had to request another plate . Service very slow . Be prepared to wait whether the restaurant is truly busy or not. We were there in both situations.
Great attention to detail and suggested menu items. Our server, Caroline, was pleasant, friendly and efficient. The food was cooked correctly and very well seasoned. Loved our visit.
Freshest seafood and well prepared. One of our favorite go to restaurants. No problems with the service. Even if we did, my husband and I would be understanding considering the difficulties most restaurants are having getting help.
Staff is great! Food is delicious.
Can’t ever go wrong with a meal here. Everyone ordered something different and no one was disappointed! Excellent as always!
Go to place when at beach. Always a good meal and great bakery.
Sat at bar for dinner. Good service. Smoked salmon app was a whole meal. Swordfish special very good also.
Our server Lianne was great! Right on top of everything. The baked haddock and Seafood platter were amazing! And the butternut squash is the best!! Always have a nice time when we dine here.
My family and I have been eating at The Galley Hatch for many years. The food is always good, as is the service, and they have awesome desserts.
Great service, ambiance and food! We took my Mom out for her 90th birthday and the staff was great and made her feel very special.
Food and drinks were great! Great place for date night.
Old time seafood restaurant - lots and lots of people when we arrived. Took time for server to get to us. Food was excellent. Make sure to try the Portugese Seafood Stew! DEVINE and must have! Feta dip? Never had it before, but super delicious. Could have used more tomatoes and less olive tepanade, as the dip was salty. But hey, we still licked the plate (almost!) And then had to do dessert, right! You can't pass the bakery upon entering and be totally disciplined and say no to dessert. Great desserts too - moose and carrot cakes were had! A bit of a drive for us, but worth it!
we were very pleased with the service, the varied menu and the food, and will definitely recommend The Galley Hatch to our friends. And have already bought a gift card.
We were traveling back home from Maine and decided to stop at the Galley Hatch. We had been there a few years ago and enjoyed it then so we wanted to go again. We were able to book our table during our drive down and when we arrived we were seated immediately. The restaurant had gone through a remodel since we were there last. The room we were seated in had been remodeled and was much brighter and up to date. There were now tables and chairs which were very comfortable. Our waitress was very pleasant and took our drink order right away. My husband and I both ordered the sword fish special with roasted squash and zucchini, over lobster ravioli. The meal was delicious. The portions were large. We both had enough left over to make another meal. We were too full to eat dessert but we stopped at the attached bakery to pick up some dessert for later.
Very glad we decided to stop back in, as we really enjoyed our experience. Would definitely recommend the Galley Hatch and will plan to stop again the next time we go up that way.
Great upscale dinning in a casual atmosphere.
Try to dine here every time we are in Hampton Area.
We had reservations for outside, but they outside ended up being closed, there was no rain, but it was a not sunny. I would have still enjoyed the outside. Anyway, we were in a very large, loud room, it was nice atmosphere, but the booths were really uncomfortable. We waited a bit to order because the waitress didn't have the beer list and had to go get one, but when she got back, we ordered right away. My husband ordered the veal parm on the specials, he was excited because he hadn't had a good one in a while, but they ended up being out. We attempted to add the large seafood casserole to my order of prime rib (as offered on the menu), but it ended up coming as it's own meal with the 2 sides. No big deal. But let's talk about the prime rib. I got the small cut, it was a nice portion, but I ordered it medium rare and told her I like it closer to rare. It came out medium well, and wasn't that flavorful, and no horseradish cream sauce. If I were the cook, I would have told the server there was no medium rare available, and see if the customer sill wanted to get that. It was good, nonetheless, not great, but good enough. It's probably better to stick with seafood. The seafood casserole was good, the lobster roll got good reviews even the pepperoni pizza my son ordered was good. We thought the waitress could have been more friendly. Someone said she's just busy, but you still need to be friendly. It was a pretty expensive night, not terrible, just nothing we got excited over.
The last two times we dined at Galley Hatch, the service was below par.
I have been going up to Hampton for so many years but never been to Galley Hatch but once years ago when I was much younger. I brought my oldest and youngest last night. My fried clams were amazing , my oldest loved picking her salad choices to make a bowl. Youngest had a sub and didn’t eat much of it. Waitress was so sweet, friendly and always there to take plates away. I’d go back again but outdated and loud although is fine Dor us as my kids are older .
Decent food, great service
We have been going to the Galley Catch for as long as we have been dating/married. 40 years! We love it there!!!
Went tg were there for our wedding anniversary. Loved every minute
Great food, excellent beet salad! Server was awesome!
Great service and great food….Great experience.
A Hampton Treasure!
They had lots of gluten free options. I had a build your own bowl with lots of things to choose from. It was a large bowl so I had the rest for lunch the next day. I am also vegan and they had options.
Great service, very attentive! Food was great! Place was clean and staff was friendly. We always have a great experience when there.
Great food and great service never leave hungry, try the Blueberry Mojito.
The Galley Hatch has always been on the top of our list. They continue to provide smooth and professional service. The food is wonderful and always served warm/hot as required. The menu represents tastes for all pallets!
I love coming to this restaurant for lunches and dinners in the evening. The staff are excellent and the menu is yummy! One of my favorite places to go for a social occasion!
I got the Fishermans Platter. Clams melted in my mouth! All of the seafood was exceptional, french fries ere great, and the onion rings, to die for! Our waitress was fantastic, right on things! If you are tired of the "smaller mom and pops in the area" this is my new seafood restaurant...worth the drive, and worth the little bit extra in pricing!
Excellent meal, swordfish was outstanding only issue was the burnt asparagus on top, really the one thing you don't do is overcook asparagus, would have been better to just leave it off.
This was our second experience at The Galley Hatch and like the first, we had a great experience. Friendly, attentive staff, great tasting food, reasonable prices and a great dessert case.
Pretty basic, pretty standard all around. Nothing remarkable but all in all OK.
New server, Ryan was good. We had to ask for water 3 times. But we saw he was really busy. We sat near the fish tank, which was a busy place to sit, with servers trying to get to the computer/register, and children and adults congregating in front of the tank. Ryan was polite and helpful with or food choices. We will return again, this is one of our favorite spots to eat while in the Hampton area!!’
Galley Hatch is where I met my girlfriend over two years ago. The food, prices, atmosphere, and service is consistently excellent.
The food was delicious, large portions, and staff were friendly and attentive!
I had the broiled Seafood platter which was wonderful, my husband had the Portuguese fisherman’s stew and he raved about it! Our daughter had Lobster Newburgh which came in a popover. She loved that! When we made the reservation, they asked if we were celebrating anything. We were celebrating our 38th Wedding Anniversary, which wasn’t even acknowledged. Why ask if your not even going to acknowledge it?
The Chef deserves applause! The food was wonderful. We were all very satisfied!
Lots of variety on the menu. Everything we had was well prepared and service was excellent. Relaxed and friendly.
