Excellent experience all round, best steak I've had for a long time. Service very attentive without being overbearing. We will be going back soon. Recommend you try, you won't be disappointed

Overall a lovely dining experience. The sirloin steak, rack of lamb and especially the chateaubriand were exceptional and beautiful homemade chips. The starters were ok but the duck in pancakes was quite sloppy rather than the crispy duck that I was expecting after questioning the waitress when we ordered our meals. The only downside was the lack of properly chilled white wines. The first two that we ordered were room temperature to touch. We eventually had to settle for a bottle of Pinot Grigio which was slightly chilled but still not to the level that you would expect. The greeting hostess was lovely and very professional. As it was very warm last night (28 degrees), it would have been nice if there was more air filtering through the restaurant.

This is the 2nd time we’ve been to a 50% off evening since this promotion started and it represents fantastic value for money. One of, if not the best, restaurant in Chesterfield and 50% off - you’d be mad not to take advantage while the promotion lasts. The food is top notch and Matt and his staff go all out to ensure you have a great experience- highly recommended.

Had the steak a few times and wanted to try the Sunday dinner menu. It was superb and my family loved it too.

We dined as part of a half price Facebook offer, I had wanted to try the restaurant for a long time and this seemed like the perfect opportunity but I left feeling disappointed. Both my partner and I ordered 12oz sirloin but it was grisly and tough. I was thinking that in order to fulfil the half price offer, they possibly had to compromise on the quality of the steak. If I had paid full price I would have complained. Don’t think I will be back.

I really like it the galleon, Sunday lunch is exceptional. But the half price steak Thursday was disappointing. I found the steaks to be very dry, skinny fries wasn’t that great, thought they was soggy. Half price steaks is a bargain but the sides was ridiculously overpriced. £12 for a garlic bread with cheese, £5 for a small pot of mushrooms.. my son enjoyed the hanging chicken kebab and it looked great. Don’t think I will be returning for the steaks but will definitely return for the Sunday platter.
