Food was VERY satisfying, especially the venison burger with jalapenos. Cool ambience. Unbeatable location. My choosy 10-year-old also enjoyed!
Loud; patchy service.... food fantastic, strange wine list?
Gage is one of my favorite Chicago restaurants, and I dine in it every time I’m in Chicago. I just returned from Ireland, and enjoyed Gage just as much as any Irish pub I was in. We all enjoyed our brunch and they went out of their way to make me a special omelette that wasn’t on the menu and it was the best one I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to return.
Food is ok not amazing , fries not crispy . Service great . Sat outside and it was very relaxing.
New to the Chicago area and was told about this unique restaurant. The service was great and the food even better. I would definitely to back and highly recommend!
The food was really good. Well-prepared and presented. The service was exceptional. They looked out for my needs.
Wonderful service and food. Very loud but an awesome atmosphere. We sat back by the kitchen and the food smelled great the whole time.
Great menu selections. Attentive service. Definitely a happening place with a very good vibe.
Absolutely wonderful. The check in desk, waiter, drinks and dinner were just delightful! Our thanks!
Food was excellent, our server was very efficient perfect location for going to the theater
Great service, delicious food, perfect atmosphere. Wood recommend to friends and family if visiting downtown Chicago!
Love this restaurant for all occasions including drinks at the bar. Right across the street from millennium park and the art institute so perfect if you're headed there.
We went to The Art Institute and then for dinner at the Gage.
Service was great, our food was very good, and it was so vibrant with people talking it was difficult to carry on a conversation. So, be warned that this is not the right place to catch up with friends you haven't seen in a while if you really want to hear what they are saying. The scene with a view to Michigan Avenue is great. Know what this restaurant is, and what it is not. Really good food in an awesome location and lots of noise to deal with.
Great service and atmosphere! Food and drinks were just as spectacular!
Had a delicious brunch (lobster roll) with excellent service and ambience. Will be a repeat customer!
Stuck with just starters and loved them all! Fried soft shell crab was amazing (ordered peppers on the side to moderate the heat) as was the Jamon Iberico, which mixes sweet grilled stone fruit (we had peaches) and savory Spanish ham. The mussels were also a hit and the Radish and Cherry Tart was a great surprise courtesy of our awesome waiter Archie. Would definitely come back.
Great service. Lobster roll could have a few more pieces of lobster on it.
We go to the Gage for lunch often from my office. The food is OK and expensive. Their salads are especially uninspiring. Service is polite, helpful, and quick, and the ambiance is nice, but I wish there were better lunch options.
Fabulous service! The Half sandwich & soup combo is a personal favorite. Try the smoked salmon BLT & chilled watermelon soup.....delightful!
Our server (Rosie) noticed that I was celebrating a special occasion with my family. Rosie, on her own, got me a cake and champagne for all to help me celebrate this special milestone in my life. Amazing service, amazing food, amazing ambience. Will be back. Thanks Rosie!
Nothing special. The food was bland — the trout was fishy and the service was less than attentive.
Tried this one out while driving through Chicago. What a find! We were wrapping up a whirlwind tour of the area sites and found this one nearly across the street from the Bean ( an area of mostly chain food places) Lovely cocktails, delicious cheese board. Fish and chips were fine. Service was excellent. He kept the glasses full and was able to stagger the order even though we ordered everything at the same time.
Very good overall
The Pink Mimosas and Hazel Nut Coffee Cake was fabulous!
Our favorite bite was the Jamon Iberico with grilled stone fruit. It was a perfectly balanced plate. We also shared the Fish and Chips, which were well prepared. The chef split the plate in the back, as it should be done!
Gazpacho and sorbet were delicious. Best I have ever had anywhere.
Staff was amazing and the food was great.
Perfect for dinner before theater. Tasty food and impeccable service in a relaxed but polished atmosphere.
Out of town friends visit to Chicago.
Food as always was excellent so was the service
Great atmosphere, especially for a lunch spot. The service was excellent. Always attentive.
It's perfect! My favorite restaurant for business lunch.
Took our friends there as an intro to some of our favorites in Chicago. Always good! Fun cocktails, excellent food, nice service. I recommend a booth.
The Gage is one of my 'go-to' spots when people come in from out of town.
management runs a tight ship
food is inventive and changing
I brought a friend for lunch to The Gage -- her first time. A slight mix-up with her cocktail was quickly resolved, but she was a little disappointed in the amount of Lobster in her lobster roll. Overall, we had a very nice time, and she really enjoyed the ambiance and the room.
We love The Gage’s seasonal flavor combinations. Food is always incredibly tasty. Hostesses and servers go out of their way to make each dining experience memorable.
They make one of the best steaks that I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back.
Best meal we had during our whole Chicago trip! The mussels were outstanding. We will definitely be back.
