The Front Porch - Leonardtown
We had a pleasant experience seated in a small period room with only 4 tables. The menu is unique with some nice touches. We had the sweet chili shrimp appetizer - very special. My wife enjoyed the Salmon Crab Scampi while I had the Teres Major - a shoulder cut of beef - not as tender as a filet - but hearty. I found the items saltier than usual. Drinks were reasonable and delivered promptly.
I think we found our new dinner spot in L'town. Really enjoy this little gem.
The venue is cool. But I thought the food was overpriced and not that good. Also, for the menu prices I would have expected a higher quality tea then what I was served. The service quality was below average for the cost of the meal.
Very enjoyable evening. The food was delicious and the staff were attentive without being overly intrusive.
Great first time. Food was great and atmosphere was very cool. Def a repeat. Looking at a Sunday brunch
The porch itself was great. Beautiful weather and a great view of the historic square. The food was delicious and it is one of our favorite spots in Leonardtown for dinner.
Ate in the bar area; scallop crostini, steak salad, Cobb salad, steak gyro, Front Porch salad with added steak -- all delicious. Zach was the bartender and server; great job taking care of a rather packed area!
The food was unbelievably great. I had the salmon and crab scampi.
Amazing food and service!!!
Awesome food and service. Very pleased and will be back again.
Great place to meet up with a group. Variety of plates and beverages. Reasonably priced and a great setting. Perfect for a ladies night out, date night or company get together.
First time here but really enjoyed the restaurant. Great selection of food, though dessert choice was limited to three choices.
Great location with a friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and good service.
Beautiful day for brunch on porch. Waitress made sure to give accurate gluten free items and was very attentive to us!
It was a nice atmosphere and the waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable.
I have visited the Front Porch on several occasions with my sister and family. Sunday brunch was not the usual. An order arrived late, half of us were finishing up before it arrived. It was not correct, but it was obvious it had been forgotten, wether that be the server or kitchen. We made do and would still return.
Great food, will absolutely be dining there again. Service was perfect.
Food was elegant, tasty and well presented. The dining spaces are lovely, as is the porch.
We reserved a table for our guests as part of our reception. The food was great, the service was wonderful, and the location was perfect! We will definitely return!
No hostess. Poor newbie waitress didn’t “greet us” for almost 10 min, did not know how to work the computer system and never recognized or ask about our reservation. Seated handicap person upstairs.
We had made reservations for a Sunday. Unfortunately we didn't know that Sunday is only a very limited brunch menu. We ended up leaving without ordering anything due to lack of choices. Wait staff was very nice and understanding about it. Will try again sometime when we know the full menu is available.
I went there for my 18 year anniversary dinner and was very pleased. Service was great and the food was even better. I will be going back frequently now as this way my first time eating at The Front Porch.
Food and Drinks were disappointing
Server had too many customers- waiters inside should have been assigned some of his tables since they weren’t busy
Delicious brunch. Steak and eggs well prepared. French toast delicious. Crab Florentine excellent. Atmosphere lovely.
Great location, excellent menu choices, good price for quality food items. Great ambiance and friendly staff. Will plan another visit soon.
My family and I wanted to try a local place while I'm here for work and The Front Porch was recommended to us. This place does not disappoint! We had the Brussels and Bacon appetizer (the goat cheese is a nice surprise), the seasonal soup (amazing), and our entree was the Rockfish Hemingway. Hats off to the chef who cooked those fried green tomatoes to perfection (not greasy at all). Our daughter also enjoyed the cheeseburger from the kid's menu. It was an amazing meal and pleasant experience. We'll be back next time I'm in town for work!
The wine was fine, but food was a disappointment. The rissotto(sp?) scallops was unevenly balanced as there were only 3 scallops swamped by the grains. In addition, it is the only instance for me where I had to chew the scallops. My wife had the salad with some steak added. The salad was very good, but the steak while tasty was tough. The desserts in contrast came off well -- the cheese cake with a soft coating was very good, and the multi-layer chocolate cake was good but a bit heavy -- a good dab of whipped cream would have helped it. The room was a bit tedious because noise, some quilting or some other fabric on the walls would help.
Excellent as always! Food was delicious! Love the smoked Old Fashioned.
I have dined at TFP numerous times and always been provided delicious food, attentiveness to dietary restrictions, and great service! But, today’s experience at Sunday Brunch was a true outlier. My husband, infant, and I were not met at the hostess stand for nearly 10 minutes as the bartender and waitresses passed us by without acknowledging us even to tell us someone would be with us and we had a reservation. Once seated, the additional silverware and glasses were left taking up half the table and were not offered a sling or high chair or any chair even to place our infant car seat in. Once seated, we were not approached for drink orders until nearly 10 minutes later at which point I also informed the waitress about my food allergies and asked her to verify with the kitchen what menu items were conducive to my diet—as was aforementioned, they are usually very understanding with menu modifications. Once the orders were placed, we waited another 15 minutes for her to return and inform me that they could not do soy-free menu options and still did not have our drinks. At this point, we had been at the restaurant for 40 minutes and seated without even drink service for 35 minutes. My husband and I asked the waitress why service was so delayed and she responded she had a few other tables that had arrived at the same time. Saving grace: the manager met us as we were departing and provided her sincerest apologies and a gift card asking that we please return! I truly appreciated her understanding, apologies, and the gift card, which was unexpected and not necessary but showed true customer service! Will definitely return but will be weary of a Sunday brunch again as staffing seemed short handed and only minimal rooms are available so noise level can get a bit high and ideal/preferred seating preferences are likely not able to be accommodated. Overall, not a great dining experience, or lack thereof one, but great service provided my management staff.
Ambience very nice, very good service and food was above average
Food was delicious especially the shrimp appetizer. Waitstaff was friendly, competent and attentive. It was a lovely evening to sit on the porch.
Our server was so on-point with everything. She had the mindset of anticipating what we would want and in that way took great care of us. My wife’s meal, the chicken & waffles, was really good. I had a steak gyro that was not to my liking. The tzatziki tasted more like mayo than anything and became very messy. Meanwhile, the steak was flank (if I read correctly), but turned out extremely tough. The setting of the restaurant is extremely pleasant. That and the braised pork nachos bring us back again and again. We will return for sure for more of the great service and I’ll try something new.
Great service. Good menu selections at reasonable price. Food was delicious at brunch. Will be back.
The food and service are always excellent here! Brunch is really good, with a nice mix of offerings. Family friendly too. Our go-to dinner spot with friends.
This was the first time I’d been to The Front Porch. The service was excellent and our server was really good. The food was great, and since I have s peanut allergy I was able to get the pancakes without peanut butter. The portions were large and I wasn’t able to eat it all.
Brunch was amazing. Perfect way to treat my dad & boyfriend to for Fathers Day.
Flawless reservation system, seated fast. Waiter exceptional. zGood drinks & wines. Appetizers great & ample. All 5 diners said entree was exceptional. Great dining experience.
I have been to The Front Porch once before and was very excited to go back for brunch. However, the food was not nearly as good, I had the green eggs and ham and it was delicious buy dry. My mom had the french toast sandwich and it was just okay. I won't be going aback for brunch but lunch or dinner is a must.
We had the following: Crab Dip appetizer (really great), the Big Cheese (over priced/not good; did not include items advertised, was essentially cuts of basic cheeses, pickled vegetables were pickled onion slices only), Salmon Salad (good), Jambalaya on special (was very tasty but should have included a side maybe spinach or fried green tomatoes). Overall the experience was good and we will likely return. The setting was nice and the service was good, but we were disappointed with the cheese plate for sure.
It was my birthday we had great service. Food was delicious.
