The table space was mad small and the food was horrible spent 100 dollars and still had go eat after it.
The Frogmore never disappoints. It is charming in decor and ambiance, like someone's home. The waitstaff is solicitous and unpretentious. The food is soul-satisfying. The fried green tomatoes and the blueberry cobbler stand out.
The major drawback was inattentive service. We were a large party but the restaurant was not crowded. Waiter 'disappeared' for very long stretches. We were there close to three hours.
One plus - we were not rushed.
Our server was great and the ambiance is casual, but nice. The food was also good, but we did feel that it was a bit expensive for what you get. Overall, it was okay and we might go back.
Entrees were sized more like appetizers, which was disappointing considering I’m especially pregnant and especially hungry. Food was bomb though
Drinks delicious. Pimm s cup
Shrimp/grits fried green tomatoes
Food was great. Staff was kind but there were several odd moments (someone brought out a plate of collard greens with the rest of our, put it on the table, then came back a minute later and removed it.) They did give us extra dessert and candles to sing happy birthday for the birthday honoree.
The food was excellent! They got our drink order wrong and took it off the bill with no issue. They even surprised our birthday girl with a free dessert. Such a pleasant group of waiters. We will absolutely be back.
This was our second visit in as many weeks I think we are regulars
Love the food the place and the people
See you soon
I’ve been here a few times, and I’m always pleased with what I order! I’m a Southerner, so I’m pretty critical of New England places that try to imitate southern cuisine, but their fried green tomatoes and hush puppies hit the spot. The cocktails are delicious, and I also really appreciate that they have some creative nonalcoholic cocktails too. The decor and atmosphere make this place really stand out, too.
Went for a date And was very impressed. Cute decorations, pretty good food, and the waitress was very sweet. Can't wait to get back there.
Came here for brunch on last Saturday with another couple after running at Jamaica Pond. The server ruined the entire experience, due to his poor communication skills and dismissive demeanor. ("You can't order wings in the dining area!" Um. Okay. where is the manager?) The food was subpar. Won't be returning.
The food was very plain and disappointing, we were excited at first when reading the menu.
Great service! The food was fresh and prepared perfectly. Served hot. Good beer and wine selection. My glass was never empty!
Great low country menu. Brunch was delicious. Some of the best shrimp and grits I've had (and we just returned from Savannah a couple weeks ago).
Brunch at 11am, place is packed. Got our beverages right away. Food came about 20 minutes later. Duck hash was tasteless. Fried chicken and waffles were amazing! Best fried chicken anywhere! ‘Toast’ wasn’t toasted at all, butter was a hard lump, impossible to spread on cold, untoasted bread. Eggs were cooked as ordered. Coffee was good. Service was friendly. Comfortable seating. Been here before and it was better.
Went here for brunch with friends. We had an excellent time! We had to change our reservation number twice and the restaurant was kind and accommodating. We also had a 4-year-old in the group and they treated her like a member of the crew.
Food was good, but not as great as I remember; menu seems to have gotten smaller and items that are consistently on menu seem to have gotten smaller in portion, or changed. The bar area has seemed to become more of a "Game Room" with pinball and other load machines, lights were way too high and music always seems to be dysfunctional and not in step with the dining room. Food presentation was good and thoughtful, but as I said, portions seemed smaller and value adjusted. Bartender knew his stuff and had plenty of cocktail options to offer. One white and one Red Wine by the glass, was good but overly simplified.
Phenomenal food, and wonderful service as always. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating for me and my family, which included two children under the age of three. Everyone loved the food, and we had enough for leftovers (thankfully). I will continue to go to The Frogmore, an amazing restaurant that I am lucky is in my neighborhood, and which my three-year-old daughter now refers to as "my restaurant".
We love Frogmore! This was our first brunch there (usually we go for dinner) and the menu was so excellent we know we'll be back again soon to try some of the other offerings. Their biscuits are divinely fluffy and you can enjoy their incredible fried chicken in the chicken and waffles dish. They do have some salads and other options for the healthier-minded, and my vegetarian husband always has great choices here. Service was a bit slower and less attentive than we have been accustomed to at dinner service.
Over easy were over hard. Took a little while to come to table.
Frogmore is really a hidden gem. I had the shrimp and grits and the duck appetizer and both are great. Service was very attentive and while they checked on us, left my friend and I to our conversation. The total dinner before tip was $36, which I think is very reasonable for two. Unfortunately, there weren't a lot of people there on a Wednesday night.
Go-to for Sunday brunch dates for my boyfriend and I!
Good food, although some of the hot meal (fries) was served cold. Loud music, but restaurant was very responsive and turned down the volume. Very good service.
Delicious food, fun atmosphere, and excellent service!
Very happy that the four of us were not rushed and could enjoy a leisurely brunch and conversation. Very tasty food, not too much for vegetarian on menu though. But I knew that beforehand.
The food was terrible.
The servers were professional and attentive but nothing could make up for food that was barely edible. There are so many positive reviews for this place that there must have been a serious problem in the kitchen (Saturday lunch) - this was by far the worst food I've ever been served in a restaurant.
I had the "smoked turkey hash" which turned out to be a few shreds of stringy, tasteless, dried-out turkey breast in a weird little pancake of under-cooked, flavorless and nearly raw "root vegetables."
My nephew had bacon and eggs. How can a professional kitchen screw up bacon and eggs? But they did. Every piece of bacon was partly burnt black, and the scrambled eggs a pile of dry, rubbery granules of over-cooked egg. The toast on both was cold. Complete breakfast fail.
Amazing food and service, as always. Had two kids with me and we couldn’t have been treated better. So glad to be in the neighborhood of this gem. Oh and my three-year-old now requests this as “her restaurant”
Brilliant food and service and accommodation for all the family
This place was featured on The Phantom Gourmet. And for good reason-- it's not to be missed!
Food was great, drinks were great, service was great. I will definitely be returning!
Great fried chicken, mac n’ cheese, succotash, mussels, hush puppies and corn bread. Great service. Room could be less brightly lit though. Open late, food available til 1am
I don’t know about the everyday dining at this restaurant, but the Thanksgiving meal was very disappointing for what was advertised. $125 for 2 people came with a little white meat and a turkey drumstick, 4 sides that were just above room temp, and a small table that barely held all the dishes. I suppose it was a much better value for larger parties, but I really felt ripped off.
I've been here a few times now and the service has always been slow. The staff is very nice and usual apologizes but the restaurant should get a new cook. Also the food is mediocre. The combinations are good but execution is meh. The apps are better than the main courses. I found the food very salty
Excellent service and good cocktails. Southern fare is good, although they experiment with a lot of things. This can be fantastic, or maybe not so fantastic. Menu changes regularly, so there's always something new to try. Although they do keep the popular choices. My fave - fried green tomatoes.
Great low-country food in a relaxed atmosphere. Was able to have my two children (under 3 and 7-month-old) sat and fed early because the mac and cheese (amazing) was delivered first to stave off any impatient children. The rest of the food was delicious and the kids even tried them. Really good beer menu that we were able to test before we had to split. The bill and doggie bags were given to us before the children turned to pumpkins. A great experience and nice to know we can go back so easily.
Wonderful! Had a late brunch here for parents' anniversary. Our server went out of his way to make sure they enjoyed themselves and their meals, and brought out a delicious cobbler to mark the occasion. Thank you so much for making this a special meal!
Great staff. We were greeted with such a nice welcome. Our server was amazing and really brought a fun vibe to our table. It was a friends birthday and our server was amazing with keeping a fun atmosphere. Food was amazing, there wasn't anything we didn't like.
We were expecting more authentic Southern cooking, but that said, we liked most of the dishes that we ordered. The corn soup was outstanding as was the shrimp and grits. One of the folks in our party thought there was too much salt in all of the appitizers and entries.
Everyone loved their drinks - especially the one made with mescal. We all thought that the desserts were just so so.
Food was great, but service was lackluster this visit. We will still return as the food (and the free Foosball table) outweigh one night of minimal service.
