Frog by Adam Handling
The 50-cover, two-floor dining room can seat up to 8 diners at the pass, while in the basement lies a speakeasy cocktail bar with its own street entrance. This bar also has its own kitchen and private dining room.
Everyone in the restaurant was so friendly and nice. Not only did they take care of everything including our coats when we just got there, but also they cared about our feedback on every course. In addition, the waiter was so detail focused that they took away empty plate timely and cleaned our table when there were some crumbs on it. Overall, we really liked it eating there.
Went for the 7-course and every single course was amazing.
Attention to details in every respect. Worth visiting if you love cuisines with contemporary and cross cultural nuances.
Fine dining, lovely environment and cuisines.
Delicate food, friendly staff.
Really enjoyed the time there.
Excellent - quite possibly the best meal we’ve had in London alongside the best service we’ve experienced. Very attentive, knowable and thoughtful .
Wonderful food, fantastic and friendly/helpful staff. Would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
Overall did what it does well - on an 8 course menu around 6 were truly very good - like little taste bombs. Almost all the serving staff seem warm keen and knowledgeable, though the first impression of the lady who served us the water was more like 1980s Aeroflot. It got better from there, and every other staff member couldn’t have tried harder. The simply furnished space works and the chairs were comfortable.
For the food it does it’s own thing - borrowing Thai, Nordic and Italian influences which as a menu really come together - like the Mother dish, the agnolotti or the tomato. The fig desert was a wonderfully balanced flavour combination.
A few area where it could be better still are: (1), music - probably needed to lift a very simply furnished space (which I liked) early on, but as the evening progresses it’s too loud to be able to hear the wait staff describe each dish - which is a pity. (2) Pacing - excellent for courses 1-5 but then fell apart for main and first sweet course with long unexplained gaps before recovering ;(3) consistency - one dish had black truffle listed as one of the three ingredients but was noticeable absent. This was sorted out immediately with panache when we pointed it out, but on this - and one other course that arrived and was then removed from the table, it was a bit odd!
Sort out the noise level, pacing and the one weak dish and this could be a michellin stared experience- right now at a price that doesn’t reflect this.
Just all round brilliant. Personal touches for my friend’s birthday, perfect amount of service and explanation of dishes and the food was imaginative and delicious.
The quality and presentation of the taster menus, including vegetarian option, was top class. Some of the dishes were a little too rich for our particular palates, but they were outstanding all the same.
Very special recipe. Every detail was perfect. I love the dessert and the cocktail very much.
Excellent services and food. We ordered the Adam’s tasting menu with wine pairing. Good that they have different choices of wine pairing including non-alcoholic drinks which suited the different tastes of my party. Additionally, to my surprise, I had been here a month ago and the waitresses could still recognise me.
We had a fantastic lunch and could not fault any aspect. The service was excellent and the food out of this world. We had the 5 course tasting menu with the addtional lobster course. Every course worked in harmony with the next and while very full by the end of it we were all disappopinted at reaching the last course as we wanted another! The food was beautifully presented and brought to the table by the chef who had prepared it.
I took my parents to celebrate both their brithdays which was brilliantly acknowledged by the restaurant. We have been having this birthday lunch annually for the past five years at different restaurants and we all agreed that this was by far the best one and going to be hard to beat! Thank you to all the staff, front of house and in the kitchen.
We had an amazing night at Frog by Adam! IT was the highlight of our trip to London and we literally came back to London FOR Adam. We had a great meal at The Frog two years ago, it was wonderful and could not find anything like them so we decided to visit London again for the great food by Adam. We were lucky to be sat by the bar, everyone were super nice and attentive. LOVE all the chefs' creations, the presentation, smell, taste and creativity is ON POINT.
Thank you very much again everyone for the wonderful night! We can't wait to come back and this time it will be sooner. I'm so jealous of the locals!
A special occasion to celebrate our daughter’s Masters graduation - and it certainly was ! The tasting menu was superb from the first mouthful to the last - and we had much debate about which course we each enjoyed most. Definitely a fantastic experience with great service while still maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. Have recommended to a friend already!
An incredible meal - wonderfully judged in terms of variety and volume. This was truly exceptional food: creative and subtle, totally delicious. Not cheap, but worth it for a special occasion. I would not hesitate to recommend - this is a chef working at the very top of his game. The sommelier was fantastic too.
We booked the Frog for our Anniversary and decided to try the “Adam Handling” 9 course tasting menu.
Our evening was initially delayed when we were seated at our table 20 minutes after our reservation, although the hostess was apologetic.
The food was incredible, every course was delicious and had distinctive elements which made the night an experience to remember. Our personal favourites were the scallops served with oyster and caviar, and the snacks at the beginning. We recommend going hungry!
We had a mixed experience with the service. All our servers were pleasant, respectful and knowledgeable regarding the menu. However, there was an incident where a glass of wine was spilt over my plate of food and clothing by the waitress. Though this was understandably a mistake, other than a replacement glass being provided, we were offered nothing else in the way of compensation, something we would have expected from a restaurant of this calibre.
Our night was not ruined by the incident, we will ultimately remember it for the outstanding culinary experience provided by the team. It is a shame we left the meal feeling slightly disappointed the Frog had not done more to make up for the earlier mishap.
Fantastic cocktails followed by a syunning meal with a nice glass or two of Picpoul de Pinet. Each of the eleven courses was a delight - all to my taste - and what a range of different tastes. For me, the quantities were just right for a long, leisurely lunch. Tasting menus leave you so hungry after the first 3 courses, but then the hunger abates and you can relax and enjoy. The staff were wonderfully attentive, kind and friendly. They were unobtrusive but always around - I suppose that's why the meal is up the upper end of the price band. We would love to go again when we have saved our pennies.
Nice food but very small portions (left hungry) with a high price.
My friend was visiting London and I called the restaurant in advance to make sure there's some little surprise prepared - the lady in the phone kindly agreed but nothing happened during our dessert course. We also found this tiny bug on our cheese course.
Great evening at Frog (Covent Garden). Delicious amuse bouches, we then had the 5 course tasting menu which had lots of variety and all excellent dishes. Even the bread and butter is delicious. Excellent service too.
Very poor reception upon arrival. Waited at the downstairs bar for 20/25 minutes just for a glass of wine.
However once we finally sat down for dinner it was exceptional. The service was great and the food was of very high quality.
The only downfall was the layout of the restaurant and the general ambience. Would still recommend for a friend to try once. But won’t be going back any time soon
Absolutely sensational tasting menu. Loved every single dish. Unreservedly recommend.
SUBLIME - best meal of my life. Beats any michelin restaurant
This was our second visit and was just as special and memorable as the first.
The staff are amazing - super friendly, attentive and genuinely care about your experience.
The food is outstanding, the wine is superb and you leave thoroughly satisfied!
We were celebrating a joint birthday and had a wonderful surprise at the end of the meal.
Excellent creative taster menu. Highly recommend for food, attentive service from all staff. Our second visit but it won’t be our last!!
What a fantastic meal for my girlfriends 30th birthday. Exceptional service from all the staff, from the welcome at the front door to the serving staff and chefs that presented every single course. The food was of the highest standard, with a stunning presentation and brilliant flavour - with the wine pairing perfectly complimenting the incredibly well balanced tasting menu. Thanks for a really memorable evening!
Beautiful little restaurant just off the Strand. Greeted very warmly and led to our table. Attentive service from all the staff, superb food beautifully presented and explained by our waitress and the kitchen staff who accompany each dish to the table. The “snacks” were delightful, we could have eaten them all night especially the cheese filled doughnut. Each course complemented each other.
The toilets were clean and you ere led down to them via stairs lit by candles, a lovely little touch.
Had a most enjoyable evening and have no doubt we shall return.
To Adam and his team, well done.
This was an experience. Every bite was amazing and the delight of the evening was the wonderful people who had made the food bringing it to the table to explain what we were going to eat. Thank you EVERYONE at Frog for an evening we will never forget.
Stunning food. Great service
Great food and a lovely atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
Anniversary great food and service we really enjoyed it
Better at the counter near the kitchen for us
Food that delivers on creativity, taste, and presentation in a refined contemporary setting. Top notch - we will be back.
Once the extra heavy entrance door had been opened ( ! ) were met by excellent staff, and the quality and professionalism of the whole team who served us was top class. The food: simply fantastic, from the delicious bread and butter with crispy chicken and chicken juice served before we started to the tiny fudge and delicate muffin surprise after coffee. A magnificent mushroom based starter was followed by the salt aged duck - which was simply perfect. For a relatively small restaurant, there were an awful lot of staff in front of house and in the kitchens; and all played their part in a very impressive lunch time dining experience - the wine suggestion was perfect too !
An amazing experience. A real sense of theatre as courses arrive at the table. Each course brought a different taste sensation to the palette. Wine complimented each course and showcased the food so well. Service was amazing, staff so friendly-faultless.
Would heartily recommend to anyone, as long as they are happy to pay the price.
Impeccable service with fabulous food
Amazing food, really amazing. Loved every dish! They need to sort their website as still says you can choose a la Carte but you can’t. Only 5 or 7 course tasting menus. Also service would have been a five but we got there for 5:30pm as they opened as we had the theatre and it took them nearly an hour to get the service up to standard. After that it was amazing as expected but at the beginning, wasn’t great. Will definitely go back and soon!
Excellent meal, the two main courses in particular stood out as top quality ingredients and execution.
An amazing tasting menu.
As already said by another reviewer, go now, before they start getting stars (plural) and the prices rocket. Simply outstanding.
