Frog by Adam Handling
The 50-cover, two-floor dining room can seat up to 8 diners at the pass, while in the basement lies a speakeasy cocktail bar with its own street entrance. This bar also has its own kitchen and private dining room.
Amazing food. Amazing cocktails. Great staff. Went for my daughters birthday and we had a lovely lunch.
Food was a gastronomical adventure and we loved that we got more than the five courses we thought we ordered. Service was excellent and we were pleasantly surprised that the ‘good view’ we asked for was a view of the chefs at work. The chicken butter was TO DIE FOR and we loved the cod. We will definitely be back for the nine course menu when we can afford it.
P.S. Any chance of a meal on you guys, given our top-notch review of you? :)
I would recommend the restaurant but not the bar in the basement
It’s a perfect meal. Taste very good.
food is good but service is tooo slow.. made reservation for 9pm. Got there at 8:50pm. Let us sit down at our table at 9:30pm... If I need to wait, why I make the reservation then??? So ridiculous. Waited another 5 minutes for our waiter to greet and hand us our menu...
This place is amazing! We had the 5 course tasting menu with premier wine matches. The fact that you can see everything that goes on in the kitchen just adds to the theatre. The "snacks" were gob smacking. I don't take photos of food normally but the razor clams shrouded in liquid nitrogen smoke was something else. The staff are lovely and after Adam left later on, we met the other Scottish chef, Paul. Our waiter recognised our Scottish accents so spoke to Adam and Paul about us. It was a memorable night. A special mention to the staff in the bar Eve too who were excellent.
Fabulous food, really creative, packed full of flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, knowledgable and efficient. Highly recommended.
Inventive combinations deliver delicious delights served by helpful friendly staff in pleasant peaceful and spacious surroundings
I was taken to Frog as a treat by my fiancé. I was very excited to try the tasting menu with wine pairing, and was disappointed to be told that we could only do that if both of us had the menu, which was impossible due to by fiancés food allergies and wanted to order from the a la carte menu. If I was dining alone I could have tried it, but not as I were in a party of two. So, We ust had a two starters and a glass of wine each, which totalled £126. The hostess who greeted us was warm and friendly, but the service from, i presume the head waiter, was a little forced - especially when I queried why I couldn’t have the tasting menu (£95 plus wine pairing of £75). To be honest, a waste of a lunchtime.
Overall, not bad, BUT just like normal ones. Sitting in front of the kitchen is quite good for taking photos as there is enough light and it's bright. However, I see the cooks make food with their hands, in this way I know they already do the open kitchen style to let people how the food is being made, but I'm not quite sure the cooks' hands are enough clean. I see they direct use hands to touch the food into your plate and after that they just cleaned their hands with the tower on the table. Not like this one, looks dirty to me.
Felt very welcome and special from the moment we arrived, food very dreamy, visually a feast in itself, but awesome flavour, we felt privileged to be there, though might be on beans on toast for a wee while after the bill, awesome experience thank you
Superb food, Excellent friendly service great ambience and a fantastic experience. Certainly not cheap but we loved ... And savoured!....every single moment!
Been a fan of Adam for a long time, always wanted to taste his creations & I wasn’t disappointed, food was excellent.
However the service was extremely poor..
The bread arrived before I had chance to order a drink, I did eventually get to order a bottle of wine, the first course arrived, still no drink, when I asked about the wine they told me it was on it’s way... another course arrived, no wine.
After 45mins without a drink & then telling me again it was on its way I cancelled the non existent wine.
It was bad enough the wine not arriving, but to constantly lie about it was so wrong.
I asked them to take the ‘discretionary’ service charge off the bill, which they failed to do. Not to create a further conflict, I duly paid the charge & vowed never to return.
Had the 5 course tasting menu & all the dishes were excellent with really delicious complex flavours. Can't recommend highly enough and will definitely be coming back!
Absolutely loved it we were in food heaven! Amazing food and excellent service. Definitely recommend.
This was my fourth time eating in Frog and I am always looking for excuses to go back !! The food is amazing - the flavours and combinations are just perfect and presentation is fantastic. I have the tasting menu when I have the time for a longer meal and this experience is added to as the chef for each course will accompany the food out and explain the dish. Would definitely recommend Frog (Covent Garden and Hoxton, yet to try the new one in Chelsea but I will !)
The dishes designed by Adam are a gastronomic delight. I don't think you can do better, everything was superb
Very nice food. It was just a little sad that the chef wasn't there.
Amazing experience, really good food and they are very nice. I asked them for a cake for my boyfriends birthday and they left till last minute and got him this amazing edible candle made of white chocolate.
The food is perfect, only a little bit salty, especially the lobster and lamb, apart from this, everything is fabulous, definitely recommend to friends.
What an amazing experience. Every course just perfect and beautifully presented and served. Made us feel very special!
Excellent venue for a special occasion. We had the taster menu and staff were willing to offer alternatives to some of the courses. It is not cheap but an experience that was fully enjoyed
I love that the chefs come 9ut and explain the food to you
The food is amazing. One of the best restaurants I have been to so far. Taste explosion in your mouth and the service is good with relaxed vibes. Second time I visited and def will come back!
Such outstanding food, just wish the ambiance matched the quality of the meal. The bar we had a drink in downstairs while waiting for dinner was dark and small and far from elegant. The actual dining room was just one big room with your basic tables and chairs and a very loud busy cafeteria type feel rather than a fine and elegant space and seating you would expect with such high quality food. We would go back because the food was so delicious and now we know what to expect in terms of the mediocre atmosphere so we won't be disappointed with that.
Amazing food, best I've had in some time. As always this type of quality comes at a price. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Superlative food and service. Imaginative menus, well constructed comprising outstanding dishes. Good and varied wine list, with enough for most budgets. Attentive and friendly staff, supported by chef service that adds a nice feel.
Simply amazing food with incredible service!
The food is amazing; ambiance could be better. Room is cluttered with wine racks and coats.
As a tourist, this restaurant makes me have a goood memory n impression of London. Most of the dishes are sooo good, especially the snacks n main courses. Personally, my favourite dish is the “bread chick better”, it’s finger-licking! The only disappointing thing is the desserts not really my cup of tea. Thanks for giving us a wonderful night
Great food. Great experiment. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic service and perfect food.
From first mouthful to last, utterly Devine! The five course taster menu is also very reasonably priced considering the exceptional quality of what you have on offer. Don’t think about it. Just book it.
One of my very favourite restaurants in London, serving brilliant food!
A truly amazing experience with every request catered for. My partner is gluten intolerant and they saw this as an opportunity to bring some different and wonderful dishes!
As a group of 4 we like to go to a couple of very good restaurants each year, it is a treat for us to do so.
Everything about this visit was superb, it was lovely that each dish was served by the chef that cooked it.
The Somellier was very helpful in finding a lovely bottle of wine to accompany the meal. The staff should be very proud of themselves the food was SUPERB. I personally rank this among my top 5 who include the Fat Duck, Le Manoir, and Le Gavroche.
We had the seven course tasting menu with matched wines, which was a great way to explore the menu. Every course was surprising and fun, but most importantly delicious. The wine pairings were a highlight, and knowledgably introduced by the sommelier without the usual pretension. Service was immaculate throughout, and having each dish presented by a chef rather than a waiter is a lovely touch. You feel very close to the kitchen, without it ever feeling intrusive. However, although the cake presented at the end for my daughters 21st was a lovely touch I thought you should know that it did bear a striking resemblance to a feminine hygiene product. Thought you should be aware. Overall a great experience!
Brilliant in every way
Amazing experience! My friend and I went for dinner yesterday and honestly, everything was perfect (and yes, chicken butter is as delicious as everyone says!!). We went for Adams Menu and as well as tasting and looking incredible, each course was thoughtfully timed. From the attentive service to the outstanding food, we felt very looked after and this made our evening very special and memorable. Will most definitely be booking again and recommending to everyone! Thank you!
Only a few tables, feel far from cramped, spaced out yet doesn't feel empty, the attentive staff keep the experience intimate.
The staff really are very good, went above and beyond offering advice and other treats, as well as clearly taking their roles seriously and adding to the theatre of the evening.
Quite creative food, very well executed. Good wine list.
Not overly expensive.
There are places I would go to first but I really can't fault it.
