I have a deep appreciation for this restaurant. This marks my fourth visit to their new location. During this specific visit, I was fortunate to be served by an outstanding waiter named T. Her service was exceptional, and the food was equally delightful. I have absolutely nothing bad to share.

The ambience was nice. The food selections were adequate, however the quality was subpar. For example, the collards were egregiously undercooked, lacked seasoning, and the temperature was not conducive with the wait time. The sides did not accompany the entree, they were brought out sporadically. The cocktails lacked alcohol. The server was pleasant and apologetic, but I would be hesitant to visit this establishment again.

I went with my best friends to unwind from a busy week. The food was amazing and the ambiance had me rocking in my seat eating and enjoying some of my favorite songs from their live dj! Definitely got me in the perfect mood on a Saturday 😊

So let’s start with the server! Honey Ms. See for us right together lol her customer service was a 10/10! She was so pleasant, patient and delightful. I wish I could’ve tipped her more(ballin on a budget over here lol) but she deserves a raise! Lol now, The food was great. I had fried chicken breast with mini red velvet waffles(that had red velvet cake crumbles in that hoe) & my cousin had catfish and grits. And we shared a Mac and cheese. Babbyyyy they food good lol I’m a big girl and I love me some food. Baby that food was so damn good! Lol then instead of mimosa floats, we got a bottle of champagne and 4 juices for $65 and baby to me, that’s a steal. Lol by the time we got out of there, we was full, lit, had leftovers and ready for naps lol the only “critique” I have is the mac and cheese needs just a little bit more flavor. Me personally, I like mine with a little bit more cheese(maybe a Gouda or Parmesan) & that would’ve set it off! But y’all gone try em out! You won’t be disappointed!

Waited an hour for our food, when We asked for our tickets to just go ahead and leave 20 minutes later they brought the food and the portions were so small. We were visiting from out of town and really looked forward to the experience but we would not recommend it and will not be returning

My friends and I went for a Sunday brunch and wow what a disappointing experience we had. From the service to the food to the bill. We ordered the coffee flight, thought it would be fun and we are always up for something new. We asked our waitress if they were cold or hot, she assured us they were iced. The only one that had ice in it was the chai latte, the other ones were room temp and it was not pleasant. That’s why we asked in the beginning. So we had them sent back. Our food- we ordered the chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and the skillet with added scrambled eggs. Our waitress didn’t write our order down and sure enough the skillet came without the eggs and she came back twice to our table to confirm what our orders were. And when we told her there was no eggs, all she did was say “oh sorry” no alternative or anything. The worst part it took almost 2 hours for our food!! That’s absolutely ridiculous. And then when we got our bill, we were just ready to go so we didn’t even pay attention, paid and got out but then when sitting in the car, we pulled up the menu and realized the waitress charged us for the flight of coffee we never drank and the added eggs that were never in the skillet. Just really Poor experience all around. We won’t be back and we won’t recommend.

This is a “must have” dining experience; especially for those of us of melanated skin and spirit. The food was seasoned very well; not salty and definitely not bland. There was a DJ when we went and the music perfectly set the vibe. We didn’t have to scream to talk with one another and we danced in our seats (that May also be because we have foodie happy dances, too)! The only issue was being seated. The host told us it would be an hour and a half to two hour wait but did not have a wait list. So we made a reservation for an hour later after waiting in line for 40 minutes. When we returned for our reservation, the host told us he could not honor our reservation because he had already seen us and sat us at the very back of the restaurant instead of in the gallery where we requested. He steadily redeemed himself and our experience throughout our meal by checking on us and making light banter with us. This restaurant is a whole grown folks and family friendly brunch vibe! You must visit!

I ate at The Friends Table on a Saturday for my upcoming birthday. We had an 11am appointment and were seated shortly after our arrival. Staff was friendly and helpful and checked on us throughout our stay. There was a live DJ upstairs which made it all the more enjoyable! Awesome vibe and my Best Friend and I were able to sing along, dance in our seats and enjoy the great vibe and hip hop music. I look forward to returning to try more menu items. The food was very good!

This is my second visit to TFT, with my first visit being at their previous location. If I’m being honest the vibe was way more professional and classy at the previous location. I’m rating this current experience 3 stars to be supportive of a black owned business. It wasn’t a busy day. The hosts were huddled around the host stand upon arrival and continued to huddle and converse while my party waited on seating. I reserved gallery seating, but we were led to seating next to kitchen. When asked about the gallery, we were told that the tables are usually dirty and they didn’t want to take us upstairs in case there was no availability. We asked the host to check, and when he returned he told us there was one reserved table available. As we waited in the booth in the gallery section, someone asked us what we wanted to drink although we were never presented with menus. They apologized and gave us one menu to share. Our waitress was nice and was very informative about the menu and what was unavailable. To be honest, there was an items that were unavailable that we wanted to try (alcohol - not including champagne and most of the coffee menu). The atmosphere was decent, but the music volume and genre fluctuated. It quickly switched back and forth from 90s R&B to uncensored rap music. Personally I don’t mind some Migos, but I’m not sure if it were appropriate for the time of day especially uncensored. The catfish was very good and seasoned and the best part of the experience. The chicken could have been fried more, but that could be a personal preference. I do believe the food and service was better downtown, but I would love to see the success of TFT. Sorry for the lengthy complaint, but know I’m rooting for you.

The croissants were lukewarm rather than being hot. In the chicken and waffle dish, the waffles were merely warm, unlike the hot chicken. Additionally, it would be a nice touch if they provided heated syrup for customers. Despite ordering sausage, I was given bacon, and the sausage took a considerable amount of time to be served, by which point I had already finished my meal. Considering the price of the meal, one would expect these aspects to be improved.

Absolutely loved the food! Especially for the price that it offered. T was an amazing host and waitress to our table, we sat upstairs near the canvases. She made sure to take care of us despite the 1.5 hour wait for food. It’s expected since it was the grand reopening. I would give five stars but the wait really did it for us and the lack of alcohol for Brunch. It was explained that they did not receive their order in time. I really enjoyed the canvases on the wall of various Black tv shows, it took me down memory lane being a 90’s baby. :) I will definitely come again on a less busy day. Overall, great experience!

I can honestly only give the service a 1 star! After making a reservation on 7/15 for 7/23, we drive the 1 1/2 hours from Raleigh, calling along the way because we needed to change the reservation. We could never get anyone on the phone but we kept on with our journey! We get there 10 mins before our reservation only to be told they were closed for a private event at 5. Now I’ve been in the industry 20+years and to not call the reservations on your book is just in poor practice! And for the host to basically tell us that the reason we didn’t receive a call the morning of to inform us of the closure was because we didn’t pay for the reservation. The fact that we were allowed to make a reservation and no payment was asked for is ON YOU, not us!! This man told me I needed to have paid $24 to receive a courtesy call!! If that ain’t the craziest mess I’ve ever heard and had a smile on his face like the situation was funny! My friend definitely coulda been nicer but WE DROVE an hour and half to be laughed at! I’m sure at this point you know the popularity of your restaurant which is why (1) this will probably fall on deaf ears but (2) DO BETTER!!! If you know you require payment, set that up on all platforms where you are offering reservations and/or hire people who know what they’re doing because any other host would know to check, call and confirm reservations!!

I made a reservation days before when we arrived there were no servers so we were told to order online and food would take anywhere from An hour or two to come out. We were going to stay until we were told the bartender didn’t show up either so we couldn’t have alcohol. We left and will try again another time.

Definitely needs of improvement in overall establishment. Our server was great and inviting with a warm personality but stretched thin due to others calling out (understood). There was a laundry list of food items unavailable due to vendor/delivery issues. Absolutely no alcohol although their advertisement for Brunch includes drinks. A quick run the the ABC store would’ve fixed that problem. Gospel music was blaring on a Saturday morning did not give brunch vibes. However, the manager was very polite and receptive to critiques. Food items were good, presentation was great!

This was me and my friend’s first time at the new location, the ambiance is very nice and decorated. Unfortunately, the music gradually get louder then abruptly quiet, which was such a distraction while conversing. Another thing I wish they would change is, they do not tell the prices on the menu when you are seated. The prices online do not reflect what they charge or nor do they let you know ahead of time if something on the menu is up charged. Overall we felt the food was way overpriced for what they were offering.

I was seated upstairs and the server was amazing. She mentioned her name but I forgot. She was light skinned and had a ponytail. She was very energetic and her customer service was great. Even though there was a wait, she made sure I was good. She was always smiling. When the food arrived, it was nothing short of amazing. The atmosphere was such a vibe. I had the deep fried deviled eggs with bacon and shrimp. It was was to die for! Then, I had the fish with cheese grits. Listen, you have to allow them to pour that sauce on top. Whewwww

These photos do not have a filter added. The Chicken Box and Catfish and Grits. I would consider this meal a donation because I allowed them to keep the food and my money after tasting it. I hope things improve here - There is lots of potential.

They took my reservation fee of $16 and I still haven’t gotten it back from Saturday! Service was atrocious. Had ask for water, paid $8/person for a reservation then had to wait 40 min while walk ins were seated. All other customers were equally upset as I would not recommend going here until they have much more staff and better customer service.

Our waitress was amazing! But it took about 2 hours for my food to come out and it was placed in a to go box. When I came it was during a soft opening in June. So I guess they were short staffed? I’ll give them a 2nd chance soon because the food was wonderful!

The vibe is nice. I think because it was the first or second day it was a little chaotic. The waitress took our order but didn’t write anything down. our waffles came out wrong but I didn’t want to make a scene so i just went with it. BIG MISTAKE. the food was great I can say. There are no prices on the menu. & honestly I’m the type of person who doesn’t care about spending money on good food, but this is definitely not a place you go to get more than one drink. between me & my friend it was $171. we both were extremely shocked. We always split it down the middle but good Lord lol. I’ll know next time just eat here & drink somewhere else!

I’m angry and upset because 1) they didn’t have any coffee available 2) it took 1hr 15 minutes to get my food 3) they opened up 10 minutes late 4) I prepaid $16 for a seating reservation it was not deducted from my bill . I took screenshots and saved everything. Just highly dissatisfied and disappointed. I really loved the venue previously. Just want the manager to at least rectify the situation and I’ll be well pleased
