The French Quarter is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant & wine Bar in a community of unique and quirky businesses in Newcastle city Centre. We are a friendly and approachable team of people, with a passion for the good things in life. Born from nostalgia for a traditional style of commerce and a desire to challenge perceptions that French dining is formal or fussy, we work with independent suppliers to offer a regularly changing wine list & tapas style menu. We have created a casual and sociable environment where customers are invited to experience our food, try our wines, shop from our deli and share our love of all things French!

Wine wasn’t cold enough , very hot inside (but was a hot day). We wanted small plates to come out as a starter but all the food came out together

Outstanding as always - the cod was delicious as was the duck special! This is my favourite place in Newcastle, the discovery flights are great and I love trying new wines, the espresso martini is also up there with the best!

It was our 22nd wedding anniversary and we wanted to go to a place like us (or at least, how we like to think about us!): straightforward, full of flavour, accessible, and honest. This was it! We were able to share each course, the staff were helpful and conversational with good stories, but not obsequious. It wasn’t our first time, nor will it be our last. It’s not a secret that this is a great place to dine. The haricot vert is what God put green beans on the earth for.

This was our 2nd visit to the French Quarter and once again the food was delicious, the service efficient. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back

Absolutely loved our experience here. I was a bit dubious because we were taking children and it's a very adult place with a very adult menu. However, our daughter really wanted traditional French food and was a bit gutted that we didn't fit in time for frogs legs or snails on our recent trip to France so this seemed like it would give her that experience. It is expensive but it's good food (and wine!). The service was exceptional. Staff were so friendly. We didn't waste a scrap of food and came out buzzing from the experience. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
