The French Market & Tavern
The French Market and Tavern is open for lunch and dinner. It also offers a brunch service on Sundays. Inspired by foods from New Orleans, its menu includes crab stuffed catfish, boudin balls, fried green tomatoes and gumbo soup. A great place for tourists to dine, the French Market and Tavern features craft beers from a local brewery. It also serves specialty cocktails such as a double rye Granhattan or sea breeze martini.
Warm and welcoming, it offers a casual décor with inspirational wall art displayed throughout. Along with food and drinks, the French Market and Tavern sells lots of clothing, home décor and personal items such as t-shirts, cups and lotions.

Went for brunch and I ordered the Eggs Benedict and was told that they only have scrambled eggs despite what was on the menu, I then order stuffed French toast which was awful and the beignets were totally without taste, our waiter tried his best.
We went there for Easter Brunch expecting to get be able to select food off the menu but it was Buffett only but you wouldn’t know that until you got there. Service was GREAT but we would have liked to order off the normal menu versus buffet style.
Good atmosphere and decor. Nice store at the entry. Food was okay. One of us enjoyed the French onion soup while the other thought it had much too much pepper. Server was efficient but not especially welcoming.
Great food! It was my first visit and I was very impressed! The food was hot and very delicious!
Waitress was great. Food was not seasoned well. Had to wait too long to receive meal considering we were the 1st patrons for brunch.
This place is awesome! Our Server Brandon was top notch! The live music was awesome and we truly enjoyed our little stop!
Too many people ; no social distancing. The staff did not wear mask.
I caught the waiter handling our food with her bear hands. When I confronted her about this she lied about it. After further conversations and pointing she is still not wearing gloves while handing my food she told her manager the truth. This totally disgusted me that the waiter would do this and lie about it in my face. She picked up my chicken and other food items with her bear hands while moving it to a different plate after she had spilled grave on the original plate.
We used to really enjoy the French Market but our last few visits have been unremarkable to say the least. Food has been OK. Our waiter did his best but he was also bartendering and washing glasses so his ability to be very attentive was low as he was doing so many other things. We will probably wait a while before we come back. This visit was not worth the money spent.
This restaurant is a true treasure. I love going there!!!
Excited to have the new location in Forsyth, GA- our hometown!
Kelly, my server was wonderful. So friendly and attentive. But the quality of food has changed. Not so good anymore.
The food was fantastic. Service was slow, but the server was very nice and attentive to our table. The environment was very cozy.
We happened in on a Sunday morning for brunch. They had only opened on Monday so it's really not fair to review so early. However - the food was delicious and because our waitress confessed to it being her first day, all was really good. My husband's eggs were overcooked but quickly replaced and properly over easy. The restaurant has a nice feeling to it and all the employees were very welcoming.
For a restaurant that had only been open for 6 days, they deserve 5 stars but I'm only giving 4 as they can aspire higher
Food was good, they were accommodating to our group.
The staff was excellent good food excellent atmosphere nice restroom really good drinks can't wait to come back
What excellent service, this is a older building, so its cold in the winter, but past that, will be going back
Very relaxed and the food was amazing. I enjoyed my time.
This is my second time eating at this place and I will way they must have new management or staff or something because the first time was actually pretty good, but I went for this past Valentine’s Day and it was TERRIBLE! The food was dry, unseasoned, no flavoring and let’s not get started with the drinks. Literally paid for bottomless mimosas and got bottomless orange juice, not to mention I ordered another drink with Jack Daniels and it literally tasted like RC Cola and tea mixed! Will NEVER eat here again ! EVER! EVER! EVER! I wish I had 4 hands so I could give it four thumbs down. SMDH
The valentine food could've been better and not just pre-made. The 1st time we ate there the food was awesome. Half of our order was luke warm.
Great experience just like always!
Valentines Dinner was great. Our first time at French Market. We will be back.
I had a terrible experience. Do not recommend. Food was cold and raw.
Overpriced for quality. Took 1 hour from the time we walked into the door to when we got our food. Food was decent, but not quality enough for the price. Kitchen was backed up, it was clear by the wait staff congregating at the kitchen window. We did not receive any silverware for the appetizer and did not receive silverware until after the main meals was delivered.
Bottom line, pricing is not in line with the quality.
There was a guitar player who did a great job.
Food is always amazing, this was our first time for brunch. Always get any cajun there!
It was the perfect place for a night out with my hubby. The food was great and the drinks were reasonable. The live music made the moment even better. They had their COVID protocol and we were seated more than 6ft apart.
We plan to return for brunch on Valentines Day🙂
Po boy sandwiches were a disappointment, salad and boudin balls were excellent. The space itself is outstanding.
Great experience and food
A nice place for a special occasion. Nice atmosphere, food was excellent, the service was fair, but I believe the kitchen staff had some issues with peoples orders.
I drove down from ATL To meet a friend half way and I’m so glad we found this place. Great atmosphere and live music and an interesting menu
They where not open to enjoy 😒 why would your website let you make reservations if your not going to be open.
Took Mom out! Great live music and we love the food.
Absolutely amazing!! The French Cajun food was as if I was visiting New Orleans. Can not wait to return!
The food was ok the wait was way too long.
Poor experience food came out 2 hours and 30 minutes later horrible experience
We have had New Year's Eve dinner here several times and have never been disappointed. The food is always wonderful, as is the service. We will be back, of course!
We enjoyed my daughter’s rehearsal dinner at the French Market on Dec 30th. We had a party of 7 and sat at a large round table near the front window, the ambiance was perfect. We all enjoyed the Fried Green tomato and Calamari appetizers, the favorite was the tomatoes. Our orders consisted of various levels of spicy Gumbo and Jambalaya. The spicier versions were more of a hit, the non-spicy tended to be a bit bland. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, it was delicious...by far the best dish on the table! We shared a chocolate lava type dessert and a caramel cake. I LOVED the cake but the crowd preferred the chocolate. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
Will go back very soon. Food, service and atmosphere was excellent.
Excellent service and delicious food. Great lunch spot!
The food & drinks were great. We will definitely be back
Took my wife for a birthday dinner and really enjoyed the experience. Nice ambiance with a live musician. I had the stuffed catfish and it was really good. My had a rib eye and it was cooked to perfection.
