The French Market & Tavern
The French Market and Tavern is open for lunch and dinner. It also offers a brunch service on Sundays. Inspired by foods from New Orleans, its menu includes crab stuffed catfish, boudin balls, fried green tomatoes and gumbo soup. A great place for tourists to dine, the French Market and Tavern features craft beers from a local brewery. It also serves specialty cocktails such as a double rye Granhattan or sea breeze martini.
Warm and welcoming, it offers a casual décor with inspirational wall art displayed throughout. Along with food and drinks, the French Market and Tavern sells lots of clothing, home décor and personal items such as t-shirts, cups and lotions.
Tables should be farther apart. Kitchen was slow. Black bean burger was subpar and disappointing. Fried green tomatoes were fabulous.
We ended up as a party of 5- the staff was awesome (although the waiter never brought my mimosas). The food was for the most part delicious, however the bourbon chicken was horribly under seasoned. Overall the BYOB scrambler was amazing, some of the freshest eggs I’ve ever eaten and so was the eggs Benedict. I would definitely go again for breakfast!
Ambience was very nice. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Love trying new dishes and French Market delivers every time! I wish they still had Spinach and Artichoke dip on the menu. It was outstanding. Great atmosphere. We willk be back!
Location and set up is great. Service is really slow and the food is inconsistent. Honestly they should drop the New Orleans style food and maybe switch to a southern style meal but the drinks are excellent and everyone who works there is very friendly. I would go back for the drinks and the people
Excellent food, excellent service!
Lovely restaurant! Food was good. Our service was excellent!!!
Great cocktails, food, and service. Felt clean and safe with COVID19.
Great staff, food and ambiance!! Definitely would dine there very soon. 👏🏿
Never disappointed with this restaurant! Food was delicious I ordered the fried chicken and it was amazing. Service was outstanding! Will recommend to all my friends.
Great food and service.
Food was good. Social distancing was respected. Server was nice and attentive. Kitchen was slow for place not being busy in house. Not sure if they had a heavy take out load. Food for our table of 8 did not all come out together. Though everything was correct.
I had a wonderful birthday dinner here. Anything you order is amazing. 10/10 would go again and again.
We usually love French Market. My husband's filet was about 1/2 inch thick. It was not a typical filet at all and had no flavor. Someone else in our party had the cajun pasta with chicken and the chicken was not thoroughly cooked. He had to send it back and it came back perfectly grilled -- it really did not even look like the same dish. Of course, he had to eat alone because we had already finished our meal by the time they brought his plate back out. French Market has always been one of our favorite restaurants but the last few times we have been we have been very underwhelmed. We decided after this time that we will not be going back.
The food was amazing and our waitress was absolutely wonderful. She even showed us around the Tavern. Love it. Can't wait to dine in again.
Old fashioned and blackberry mule were fantastic. The fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, and catfish roulades were all delicious. Highly recommend!
Nice ambiance. Good service. Elevated price. Good food.
Top notch food and service was great! Well worth it and would eat there again next time we’re in town.
We took family out for lunch at French Market. Very nice ambiance, food was good, and the service was excellent. We used to go there often with friends but had a couple less than positive experiences and really just stopped going there a few years ago. Looks as if things are much better now. Management and wait staff were very attentive and our party of eight enjoyed our lunch together. We will be going back
Extremely overpriced for the food. Friendly staff.
The food was just ok. Portions were very small. Fried calamari was chewy and looked like a half serving compared to other restaurants. They were short-staffed and although there were lots of empty tables we had to wait to be seated. We sat at the bar but there was no bar tender available so we had to wait for drinks, too. There were at least half a dozen dirty tables that weren’t bussed the entire time we were there. Our server disappeared after our food arrived and had to be flagged to check on us. The collards that were “flavored” with jalapeño were awful — extremely hot and heavy-handedly drenched with vinegar. My husband had a pasta dish and there was hardly a “bed” of pasta, and a pitiful amount of shrimp.
Great people. Great food. Will visit again.
Food was good and the Service outstanding. I will definitely come again.
Valentine day . We had 10 in our group. The waitress couldn’t get our food order right. It took 3 hrs to get our main dish. My husband asked for a steak knife 4 times ended up cutting his steak with his pocket knife. One lady sent her steak back 3 times to get cooked to well done. Our side dishes were served cold. Our collective meal ticket came to an estimated 1000.00 ! The waitress received 250.00 in tips because they added 18% to each ticket! Never will return!
Went on a valentines date Here and it was our first time. We enjoyed ourselves. Definitely will be visiting again !!
My husband & I had a reservation for Valentine’s Day dinner. I received a complimentary rose with dinner. There was a set menu with a four course dinner for each of us but there were great choices in each course. We chose different appetizers & desserts so we could share. A great experience. Reasonably priced. Going with girlfriends tomorrow for lunch.
We were there for Valentines Day. Everything was great, except for the wait. We were seated immediately, but it was a four course meal. I expected to be there longer because of this- but we were two hours...We were there 90 minutes before the main course came.
Excellent for a date night💗. Nice ambience. Food is delicious. Jeff the waiter was awesome...
Everything was excellent except my wife’s steak. It was mostly fat and grisly.
Maybe it was simply an off night, but we were over all disappointed with our meal. The 4 course Valentines Day menu was a nice concept, and the appetizer was very nice, but it went downhill from there. The spring mix in the salads was already beginning to visibly deteriorate. The ribeye steak was bland and very chewy/sinewy. The dessert (tiramisu) was the best part of the meal, the coffee was good and the service was friendly and quick. The place is cute, but for the price not a great value. With all the options available around Metro Atlanta, we will probably not return.
Maybe as a lunch place? The value just wasn’t there. Our appetizer of Mac n cheese bites were similar to jalepeno poppers from the frozen section (you expect a scoop of Mac n cheese deep fried), my filet mignon was cooked nicely but the meal was supposed to come with a lump crab cake. Instead it had a crab sauce over my filet. Desserts were just ok. Everything felt overpriced.
The cocktail was the best part.
Over priced for the taste and a small town eatery
Excellent service, especially being able to accommodate a party of 9 at the last minute. Appetizers were really good, especially the calamari and fried green tomatoes. The French onion soup was a bit disappointing as there were hardly any onions and the cheese was not melted, but that is the only complaint from anyone at the table.
I had the stuffed catfish with a side of Mac n cheese, cheese grits, and cornbread. The catfish and cornbread are AMAZING! The cheese grits are not impressive but the other items make up for it. This place has the cutest ambiance!
Also some items on the menu on open table are not on the menu anymore, just FYI. (Shrimp ragoons)
Overall i will be back.
Cute restaurant with good food and attentive service. Especially loved the appetizers and soup.
Good food and good times and a lovely place to socialize
My husband and I chose to go to this restaurant because Yelp said it has “GF options.” Unfortunately, our waiter could only point out salads and a burger with no bun. When I asked if any dinner entrees could be modified, he had to go to the kitchen—3 times—for answers. We split an apple pecan salad which turned out to be iceberg, a few thin slices of apple and a handful of unseasoned pecans. The dressing on the side helped this sad salad, but not much. I ordered the salmon and must say it was delicious. My husband had shrimp and grits. The cheese in the grits was negligible and they just tasted bland and watery. I ordered mixed vegetables and they were limp and tasteless. To top it all off, we waited at least 20 minutes for the check after we had finished eating. I can’t recommend this restaurant.
It was mix bag, we enjoyed our server but we waited over hour for our food. one meal was cold, the other two were very good. The drinks and appetizers was fast and good. except for the long wait we had nice time at the restaurant. The kitchen appeared to be struggling to keep up with the orders and the service staff did make every effort to keep the customers happy.
