This Neapolitan owned oasis is an unquestionable favorite by the local community in Williamsburg. The food represents the traditional recipes from the homeland of Naples and is influenced by the modern taste of the trendy Brooklyn neighborhood. The Francesco's passion for Italian cuisine is embodied by Salerno-born chef, Francesco Cuozzo. Chef Cuozzo insists on serving his guests only the most authentic Italian products available. The menu features Northern and Southern Italian delicacies such as imported cheeses and cured meats, wild game, and homemade pastas.
The Francesco offers affordable pricing, and a full bar with innovative wine selections. The ambiance is quite enchanting; candlelit tables, exposed brick walls, sky-lit ceiling, perfect for a casual dinner al fresco or an intimate night out. Located in the heart of Williamsburg's historic Italian district.

Calamari Agro Dolce

So glad we found this place. Food was so good. Homemade fettuccine was the best.
Lovely place. Friendly service. Great reasonable prices. Old school Italian.
Terrible service. Had to ask multiple times for a menu, for water, and for bread. Servers came and go asking the same questions but nobody would actually bring anything. 30 minutes after seating and not even the order had been taken. Subpar food too. Lentil soup was not a soup, it was dry, broccoli rabe on the branzino tasted weird, and pappardelle with octopus was sour. For two bad appetizers, two terrible mains and one glass of a cheap chianti the bill was 110 dollars. Oh, and the check took so long to arrive we had to stand up and walk to the exit to get it. The cherry on top was a couple who arrived 25 minutes after us and got drinks and food before us because they knew the owner or manager. Zero stars if I could.
Balcony level was full of clutter, and did not feel like you were in a nice restaurant at all. Also, mandatory tip of 20% for a party of 3 was added to our bill, which was rather surprising. Will try other places in this neighborhood.
Food is great! They did run out of fried calamari so we
opted for the smoked salmon special!
The restaurant has a great ambiance as well.
The service was t
Go for the calamari, stay for the crowd, the music and the energy.
I saw great reviews about this restaurant and since they were running a great groupon I decided to give them a try. I'm happy I got $60 worth of food for under $30 via the groupon, otherwise I would be upset. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant on Sun evening 5:40 there was another table that was seated but there were no waiters around. There was an elder man who was setting tables and filling filling water cans. My guest and I were able to choose our seats. Eventually one of the managers had to go upstairs and get all the waiters to come down stairs big turn off. Waited 20 mins for cold bread and slightly frozen butter, another 10 for our waiter who never gave us his name to ask if we were ready to order. The food while decorated on the plate might of looked appealing was over cooked as I had the lamb shank with couscous and my boyfriend had the pasta and shrimp. The pasta was way undercooked and the shrimp super rubbery. We knew better than to order dessert. We only paid $3.15 outside of the groupon which was what the meal was worth. We won't be returning
The food was pretty good, but the bread was totally stale. Also, we never got much attention from the wait staff after our initial order, never got our water glasses filled, and waited a very long time to get our check despite the room being mostly empty. A real shame because the main courses were decent and the room had a fun ambiance. Just could have used some basic attention to detail and better waiting skills.
Service was excellent, very nice dining room, food was very tasty but the pasta was a little too al dente, slightly undercooked, mine and my girlfriend's. sauces were very good. baked clams were tiny, would not order them again. octopus was fairly tender and tasty, zuchinni flower was very good. I had cheese cake desert which was a small ball type cheese cake, on the dry side and not a lot of flavor, would not order again, too small for $ 9 dollars a serving. she had the tiramasu which was much better. Soda was $ 2.50 per glass and no refills, id go back but i know now what to order and what not to order. fairly good deal with groupon.
Food was good. Great value with the groupon. Excellent everyday dining.
Really good from the scallops as appetizer to the Penne Al Vodka. Really liked it.
Great dinner with good service and ambience. Went with a Groupon and ordered tuna entree homemade pasta and shrimp appetizer. Appetizer had no flavor but entree very good! Would return
Everything about this place was fantastic!
The ambience was festive.
The wait staff was attentive and accommodating.
This is now our go to place when in Brooklyn
An excellent rustic restaurant with the best service (and of course great food) we experienced in week-long dining in many many restaurants in Brooklyn. Highly recommended.
A reunion of former students
Even though I had a reservation, we had to wait like 20-30mins to be seated. That day the had someone doing a “kareoke-like show” but music was horribly loud!!! It would have been better a normal volume. Service was awful. Food horrible as if bought from the refrigerator area in a supermarket. Won’t recommend going there.
Excellent service, delicious food, enthusiastic crowd, engaging entertainment. Kudos!!!
Great old school Italian place serving traditional food with immense flavours. Excellent house red and terrific service.
Really friendly service. Nice quality of food. Lovely characterful dining room. Rather noisy when we visited as some guests had booked a Mexican band for a celebration- but all good fun
The atmosphere the food was excellent loved the entertainment
The food and service here are reliably good. We have eaten here many times and will continue to do so.
Amazing and wild
The overall ambiance of Da Francesco is calm and inviting. Servers make sure you're well attended to and not once did I have to go out of my way to get a waiters attention. We ordered the stuffed clams and grilled tentacle as appetizers which were both delicious, wishing they were bigger, though, but hey, they are appetizers! I ordered the lamb and my partner ordered the New York Steak. The steak was exceptionally flavored and its side of arugula salad divine. My order sadly didn't meet my expectations of lambs and I found the seasoning didn't go too well with the side of quinoa and mixed vegetable, but then again, that is just my opinion. Overall, everything else was fine and if I ever dine there again I'll be glad to try something different on their lovely menu.
Food and service were great. Met the owner Francesco who was very nice also, very friendly. We loves the Saturday night entertainment.
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere. Ideal for a romantic date. Try the Chicken and the Braised Short Ribs
Food good. Service abominable! Says it all!
Loved the food and place was excellent the people were wonderful lunch fed it
Food was disappointing and service was just OK. We will not come back a second time.
Bread: fresh/moist. Passera (pistachio-crusted flounder w/ spinach), Gnocchi & Penne Piccanti: all excellent! Loved Da Francesco.
I love this restaurant. An absolute gem in the heart of Williamsburg's Little Italy.
Always great food and service
Francesco is a wonderful host
The veal chops were superb!
Always a pleasure
Absolutely loved this place! Fantastic food, ambience and service. Authentic experience!
It took an hour and a half to get our food. The service was terrible. They never once refilled our water.
Excellent Service! Excellent Food! We love coming here!
Started with a wonderful appetizer of artichoke, garlic and Parmesan. Then had osso bucco. My wife had branzino with vegetables in parchment paper.
The meal was to die for.
I would not recommend Da Francesco to a friend or foe. They sat us upstairs which was full of junk, old books, christmas decorations, clothing, ugly curtains, and extra stored goods. We felt like we were in an attic and it was very messy and cluttered. Regarding food and service, it took almost an hour to get our entrees after we had our appetizers. They need to rethink sitting people upstairs. Very poor taste.
Amazing! Family of four (16- and 18-year old boys in tow) and we each left so satisfied. It didn't hurt that we had a great deal from Groupon so we ordered way more than we would have otherwise...with doggie bags and NO regrets!
The interior is very nice and when we arrived it was very quite and nice. But the ln the life music started which was really bad and loud (especially the guy singing). Also the food was not great: heavy and tasteless.
