I have been going to Da Francesco for many years and I have never been disappointed, It is an old school Italian restaurant with some real talent in the kitchen.
The food was good. For the price, I've had better, but no real complaints overall. There were a few mixups getting the right food to the right table while we were there. We got someone else's food a few minutes after we ordered. 2 out of 3 of the dishes were correct, so it was a bit confusing. We had to sit looking at another party's food while it was sorted out, especially hard for our 13 year old who was very hungry. Otherwise, the staff were all very pleasant and helpful, apologetic when mistakes were made and quick to correct any problem.
The food was excellent - the Vodka Penne with shrimp was superb, as was the Salmon encrusted with pistachio - as was the friendly service and homey atmosphere. It was a fun and romantic date night for us before we went to Brooklyn Steel, which is just a few blocks away.
Came here on a date with my girlfriend. I could not have asked for more from my dining experience at Da Francesco. The food was some of the best I've had in quite some time (that says a lot living in NYC). The service was impeccable. Never felt rushed, but also never waited for anything we needed. Already planned our next visit to try some of the other items on the menu!
The salmon, vegetables ,penne and sangria were delicious. Excellent service.
Went there for a birthday celebration and it was so much fun. They had live music and there was dancing after 10:00. Appetizers were delicious! Especially the calamari ! All food was delicious and service was great!
Excellent food, and fantastic service. We were a group of 8 and the server recommended appetizers for the table - they were plentiful and yummy. One person did not order a full meal but tried everyone’s dish (yes that person :) and could not stop raving about every bite she tried. I ordered the veal chop and it was cooked to absolute perfection. My Dad declared the place a “home run”. Everyone was happy and full. Great spot.
Good food. Great service. I highly recommend. I had the short ribs and potatoes which was falling off the bone. My wife had fish and my kids had penne ala vodka.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Everyone in our group loved their food and had a great time. Thanks!
Great food and service
Great food, fun atmosphere, live singer had everyone in a party mood. My girlfriend and I had so much fun!
This place was amazing!! Food and service was next level. I️ would recommend this place over and over again !
Absolutely terrific visit. The staff is so professional and friendly. In a nutshell, the restaurant is very pleasant. My kids and I really enjoyed the dessert. The entree and appetizer was tasty as well. Thank you all very much. We will return with more people.
This was authentic Italian cuisine at its finest!
If you are looking for an Italian meal like your Nonna. Used to make , but with a sophisticated twist you found it here. I love this restaurant.
The atmosphere is lovely. There is Italian music playing in the background , and the waiters are very attentive.
The chef makes a unique gnocchi dish that is my favorite as is the grilled octopus and calamari
Corkage fee was $15 - a great deal! Fantastic service! Definitely would do again.
Delicious food, potent drinks. Outstanding
This was a place for great Italian food at an equally great value.
The ambiance was romantic and that staff was excellent. Loved it. Would definitely go again
This is probably my favorite Italian restaurant. The food is always top notch. Service is not quick but is very pleasant. Lovely room. They sometimes have live entertainment as they did when we were here. Italian standards and old OLD favorites. My "kids" (28 and 29) enjoyed the entertainment too. We had the short ribs, fresh spicy pasta, chicken roasted and another homemade pasta. All were delicious. Clams, artichokes, lentil soup and calamari (THE BEST EVER) were the apps. Didn't have room for dessert.
Another wonderful time here. I had the veal chop which was out of this world. Served with mashed potatoes. The calamari is a must when dining here. There was music when we went, two Elvis impersonators and it was so much fun! I highly recommend this restaurant. We also asked the bartender is she made coconut mojitos and she said she didn't but would make them for us. I can honestly say it was one of the best coconut mojitos we have ever had.
Food was good, ambiance was nice until we found out it was Live Music night and made the decision to move outside, which helped but put us a bit out of sight out of mind for service. When they came by it was good, but they didn't come by often. If you are looking for a space for quiet conversation, call ahead and find out if the Frank Sinatra live singer is there first.
Very average old school Italian
Great food, fast service, nice waiters and wonderful ambience. Good for a romantic date.
We loved their food and ambiance. They also didn't rush us - which we loved. We will be back.
The food was very good, especially the appetizers, the prices were reasonable and the service was nice. The restaurant looked cute too.
Pretty good but Branzino tasteless. Waiter said I'll prepare it differently. Still no taste. Did not check back. $24 wasted. Daughter went home and ate. Everything else good. Would have been great except for the tasteless Branzino. Will not return. Too many other places
Always great food
True Italian Gem in an originally Italian neighborhood. Great bread, I highly recommend the chicken and skirt steak. Huge portions for both for what would cost 1.5x at another restaurant in the area.
