   First time to this place for years. Started badly when the pub claimed not to have received my booking despite having had a confirmation email. We got seated after a while but then had to wait a long time for our order to be taken (and had to go off and hunt for a wine list myself). Ordered wine and tap water but both took a long time and several times looking over at the waitress before they arrived. After waiting nearly an hour for food we were told it would be 6 minutes. It eventually arrived 20 minutes later. Most was OK except for my daughter’s pizza which was completely uncooked dough in the middle. When we sent it back we were told that the oven was the wrong temperature. Another arrived after a while with apologies that it was still uncooked and a suggestion that we cook it at home!

   Really disappointing visit we were waiting for 15 minutes for drinks and when we received the menu the majority of items had run out. Very small set menu for a Sunday, initially told that there was enough for 1 chicken Sunday roast and then told it was not available only to hear the waitress offer 2 chicken roasts to the next table! My daughters pizza was unavailable after we ordered and my son had steak of the Children’s menu that was tiny he was starving! The place was freezing too I was really disappointed

   Very good food and service was excellent and friendly, just a minor comment it can get busy so slightly longer wait time but the quality of the food more than compensates.

   Far to much salt in everything service was slow, although that didn’t matter on this occasion.

   Excellent tasty food. Service was excellent even though the pub was busy.
