Lovely warm friendly pub,excellent food,all though on our last visit food was not very hot,did not complain as food tasted so nice,go there most sundays for roast as it’s local,never had no problems even if I have not booked staff have always managed to get us in even though it’s been really busy I will be going every week for my Sunday roast good value for money

The fox den has a serious problem with lack of staff, on a busy lunch time there was I waiter and 2 bar staff. There was a rather long wait for food but, food was ok when it arrived, the waiter deserved a medal dealing on his own with inside and outside dinning.

As you have a vegan menu I would have hoped that you were able to offer non dairy milk. However this was not available when I requested a non dairy latté. Therefore I had to have yet another amaricano. Please look into this matter and amend. Thankyou.

Everything was perfect, the staff were fantastic and made the evening with the four Grandchildren a wonderful experience

Food took about 15 minutes to arrive, one of our meals was delayed and one side dish was not delivered, however they made up for this by giving us extra. Nothing outstanding but a decent meal.

Very disappointed with the Fox Den. When we arrived all appeared well, we ordered drinks and waited to be seated. We were then informed they had no fish and no lamb trio. The lady gave us our menus, we were a little disappointed that we hadn’t been given the festive menu so we went and asked only to be informed they were not doing that menu tonight. We each picked our meals and went to the bar to order. We were then told they had no steak!!! Which 2 of us wanted so we had to order something else. We all wanted mushrooms for a starter but only 2 were able to have as they had ran out. The food itself was not to bad a little cold. I think on this particular night they may have been better saying the kitchen was closed and not take any booking as we would have been better off going somewhere else instead of giving a bad review. On this basis I would not go back there

They could not find our booking but found us a table. They were running a limited menu and already had 2 things that were unavailable. Upon ordering they had sold out of the salmon fish cakes and had no other vegetarian dishes (except chick pea and aubergine burger) my friend does not like the texture of meat but doesn’t ordinarily choose chick pea style dishes. She had no other choice. Whilst we were ordering another dish was no longer available. A friend and I had a burger. The top of the burger bun was hard and burnt. The staff cane out with two tops if a roll for us which has just come out if the fridge as freezing cold. All if the melted cheese was in the burnt top! No apology. My friend with the chickpea burger did not get her dip. Same man came out with the tomato and pesto dip again with no apology. We were obviously an inconvenience to him. Not what you expect, not really busy as it was a Monday night.

Both friends rump steaks were overcooked (medium rather the rare; no pinkness) Fried eggs in the 'yorkshire ham & eggs' were semi-hard! Our concerns were apparently conveyed to the kitchen but no action was forthcoming
