Was forced to sit in back with 3 tables of kids. Not fun
Menu was very limited. Need more variety.
Awesome as always
We've never had a bad experience at Fox & Falcon. The new soba noodles were excellent as were the cocktails, service and ambiance. Our go-to date night spot
Caesar salad was phenomenal
The food was ordinary at best and the service, while friendly, was not good. We were served appetizers to share without utensils, plates or napkins. Our entrees came out at very different times—leaving some of members of our party waiting for their food while others began eating. We wanted dessert but were presented with the check without being asked if we wanted anything else. One entree was too spicy to eat. Another (the falafel burger) was baked to a burnt crisp. Very disappointing.
The service was excellent. The host was super friendly and accommodating and our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The menu isn’t very extensive and the food is ok but the staff made up for it. Definitely a great Friday/Saturday night spot.
All the food we ordered and received was, at least, very good. Much of it was excellent.
Service was odd. The server who introduced herself as taking care of us also for away as quickly as she could even though I pointed out that my wife was literally steps away from the table returning from the restroom. After that we hardly saw her and placed orders with other servers.
We were somewhat astonished by the lack of number and variety of entrées, and we couldn't make the cost make sense. Starters were numerous and interesting (and also expensive), but entrées were a burger, a "Nashville Hot" chicken sandwich, a falafel sandwich (all the above $20), two pastas (both $25), udon ($27-$42, depending on what you might add), vegan rice bowl ($26), fish tacos ($28), and a $59 ribeye. We could not make that make sense under the circumstances.
We ended up spending about $100 on 3 appetizers, 2 beers, and a side of broccoli rabe (including tip, even though service was odd, as noted). We left, went next door to the Ethiopian place and had a magnificent meal for half the price (and no odd service).
I'll come back for beers and cocktails, but I'm not staying for dinner.
The decor and ambience at the Fox & Falcon is outstanding. It's such a great place for any occasion whether you want to chill out or get a little wild. The menu options are fantastic. My wife and I ordered the cheese board, Nashville Hot Chicken and the Cavatelli. They were all delicious. Our server was as sweet and nice as can be. It was the same for the rest of the staff. We designated this place as our new go-to for a night out before we finished our meal.
Came into town for a musical event and decided to have a late night dinner with the wife and kids. It was our first time but it will not be the last time. The food was outstanding, The help were awesome and the karaoke was very entertaining. We started with the cheese toast. We have never had anything like it and it blew our minds. For dinner I had the Hot Soba Noodles and the wife had the Nashville chicken sandwich. A great bottle of wine paired perfectly with the meal. I never write reviews. Fox and Falcon deserves the five stars.
The food was great! I was pleasantly surprised to see a couple of Mocktail choices as someone who looks for non-alcoholic drinks. The appetizers were delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and my friend really enjoyed her Dan Dan pasta. The s’mores brownie was perfect way to finish:)
Was ok. Heavily spiced and a lot of the dishes aren't adaptable.
Good covered area for outdoor dining. Falafel burger was delicious. Burgers a bit ovedone.
I’ll definitely be back. Drinks and food were amazing!
Very good reservation system. Great setting and ambiance. Had outdoor seating area with live music entertainment. Staff members were friendly and attentive. Limited items in the menu. I don't know about all the menu items but pertaining only to the ones we ordered, I would say food was OK. The grilled octopus appetizer was excellent but the pasta dishes (squid ink linguini and fettuccine dan dan style) were flavorful but were oily and salty. Priced too high for food quality.
Great food once more, the gnocchi were outstanding and the black squid ink tagliatelles were also amazing!
Good food, and very attentive service! The Saturday night karaoke was a pleasant surprise!
The food was of VERY poor quality and the service left much to be desired. We were not provided with a menu for a long time after being seated - then promptly rushed into ordering something. When the entree arrived an hour later(!) - the fish in the fish taco was undercooked, unseasoned and inedible and the chicken in the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was overcooked and practically burnt. DO NOT recommend at all.
small wine selection. i got the cacio de pepe and it was dry store bought pasta with pepper on it. after dinner we went next door and got quesadillas because we didn’t eat our meals.
I love fox and falcon. I go every Wednesday for trivia and dinner and it’s honestly something I look forward too every week! When I can’t go to trivia I try to make it there for dinner or a drink as I love it so much. The atmosphere is awesome and the staff is always attentive and nice even during times where it’s crazy busy. The food is excellent and they always have unique and delicious drinks as well.
My salad was delicious, service was great. We were eating in the outdoor patio, which was in a parking lot with a covered awning. Places are trying to "make do" obviously during covid times, but not much effort was made to spruce the parking lot up, so to speak. Food seemed quite expensive for what it was. My biggest complaint was the musac. There was loud music playing on a continuous loop, which was really annoying. Not likely to go back there anytime soon. I wish ABOVE was still open in SO.
Great food and atmosphere. The service is stellar. Always a good time at Fox and Falcon
Made a reservation for outdoor dining, they had a band that was so unbelievably loud I had a sore throat from yelling over the music all night. I’m 23 years old and love concerts and live music, but this music was just so loud it made the entire experience hard to sit through.
It then took 1 1/2 hours to get our main course, which wasn’t good to be honest. We aren’t food critics either, we’re young and usually aren’t easily bothered by this. And then by the end of the night our bill was $90! It is incredibly overpriced for the subpar outdoor ambience and food. We couldn’t believe how much we had to spend on the night.
What a gem of an establishment! Everything we ate was delicious but the SERVICE and CARE took things over the top. The owner is lovely. He made us feel as though we were in his home and the person serving--Ari--could not have been more gracious and attentive. Get the gnocchi, get the octopus. Take recommendations from the staff, they know what they are doing. I am so happy we went there after such a miserable week of hurricane clean up.
Staff was very welcoming and food was very good, I can’t wait to go back.
The food was REALLY incredible. EVERY DISH.
Service was beyond PERFECT.
Great experience. Last minute decision on the way to a show at SOPAC; will go there AGAIN for the food and service alone.
Food was good. The wait staff was in need of improvement and better training
Everything about this experience was wonderful. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seated quickly. The young lady who take care of our table was OUTSTANDING. She was efficient, personable and knowledgeable. She also remembered all of our orders without writing them down which was super impressive. The food was superb. We ordered three appetizers - octopus, meatballs and jerk chicken wings - and it would honestly be impossible to choose which one was best. The entrees were delicious (squid ink pasta is to die for) and decently sized, and the cocktails were on point (I’m a sucker for an old fashioned and this one was made perfectly). I definitely recommend this spot and I look forward to going back soon!
That octopus app could've been grilled a bit more. The ambiance was super chilled, and the service was awesome.
My favorite local spot, never had a bad thing on the menu - friendly staff and guets too!
The service and ambiance were nice but the food was mixed. My app, the ricotta gnudi, was amazing. Unfortunately my entree, the filipini friend chicken, was disappointing. The chicken was overdone, hard to cut into and dry inside. Also was supposed to have green mango, but it had sweet mango and literally just a bite's worth.
Quite eclectic menu from Filipino fried chicken to squid ink pasta. The food was delicious and we will be back. I had the squid ink linguine with seafood.
The food was not worth the price but the place is really nice. My pasta wasn’t cooked all the way and neither was my husband’s. I want to go again to try their sandwiches. We had their fries and those were good!
Food was good, service was good however, almost ZERO COVID policies that were noted on Open Table were followed: almost no staff wore masks and in an almost empty restaurant with plenty of seating, another couple was sat at the table right next to us with not even a foot in between… there were two empty tables on the other side of us, so this made no sense… social distancing protocols are clearly not a concern! Go early if you want to avoid sitting too close to strangers!
We are outside under their tent - not the best ambiance, but given Covid, we appreciated that over being inside. The food was good (though the fish tacos could have had some more veggies to go with the fish - it was pretty much just fish, guac and a creamy sauce). Service was great - friendly waiters and prompt bar orders. Can’t speak about whether it was a good value, as fortunately my friend insisted on paying.
Owner David Massoni is incredible! I brought my friend here for dinner and asked him to choose our meal for us - he selected an incredible mix of apps, pastas and desserts to share. The cocktails were delicious and the service was stellar. Another super positive experience which keeps me coming back. I even brought 15 of my out of state colleagues here for an outdoor dinner a few weeks back and it was outstanding!
Best Restaurant in South Orange. Staff is always friendly and helpful. We always try something new from the menu and with out fail, delicious.
Excellent food and friendly vibe at the bar. One of our favorite spots in NJ
The wait to receive our food was ridiculous. We waited 51 minutes to receive our dessert and the server didn’t even apologize for the wait. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. Definitely will never return. The only bonus is that the drinks are cheap.
