   Disappointing frankly. Venison was bland as was the whole roast. Minimal gravy overheard others asking for more. Slightly confused and random staff giving puddings without spoons, leaving us waiting a few times etc. felt like a cash ticket. Have been before and it was better but probably will not come again. Was stared at by the waitress while paying as if waiting for an obligatory tip, service charge not included printed in large letters across the bill. I don't appreciate being made to feel guilty for a less than average eating experience

   A very lovely pub with 2 little snugs and a larger room. Friendly, attentive service and a good wine recommendation! I imagined it's lovely with the open fire in winter. The food was lovely, especially the roast venison and walnut chilli. A lovely selection of veg with the roasts, nicely cooked. My parents really enjoyed it, and they're usually the first to comment if it's not up to scratch, so well done!! Thank you!

   We had a very pleasant family lunch on Easter Sunday. It was very busy but the roasts (pork, beef and lamb) were all excellent and the service was very friendly and attentive.

   The mushroom risotto was delicious and the battered cod was huge! The service was attentive. Felt a bit rushed when we first arrived as we'd barely sat down before being asked what we wanted to drink. Overall a good choice of dishes, and nice atmosphere.

   Fabulous Sunday lunch at the fountain again. Huge portions lots of veg and meat. Massive Yorkshires. The only thing that could have made it better would be more gravy. But then we didn't ask ... Top Sunday lunch destination

   Our group of 8 people including one wheelchair based was well attended to by the staff, who had a good knowledge of the menu options for that day and were very helpful in helping us to make our choices. The service was expedient but not rushed, the food was plentyful, delicious and hot. The ambiance was friendly and not to loud, apart from probably our table? A very enjoyable time and we will be returning.

   Nice, friendly staff. Lovely traditional looking pub with picturesque surroundings. However, food was a bit of a let down and overpriced.

    This was our first visit, but it will definitely not be our last. Our Sunday roasts were truly excellent, the Lamb incredibly tender. The wine recommendation was delightful. All the staff were very attentive. But the most appreciated aspect of our visit was how well my wife’s allergies (of which she has many and carries EpiPens) were not only catered for, but how the staff checked and double checked none of the ingredients would cause any issues.
