The Foundry Table & Tap

Wonderful view from our table from our table outside. Our waitress was amazing. Good drinks too!
Much too loud. More a bar than a restaurant The food tasty.
I went to the Foundry for Summer Restaurant week. The entree's I noticed were more on the higher end of the price range, but they did well balance this out with more affordable options in the salads, sandwich, and small plate sections. The restaurant week menu was very tasty! And I got three very good courses for only $35. I was a little frustrated when ordering drinks that their menu was not updated to reflect what was no longer on tap or available. There were multiple people in my party who tried to order a few different drinks (beer and wine mostly) that were no longer offered. Other than that, great service and great experience!
Excellent service. Uninspired menu. Elevated American food and the self-styled "gastropub" is way overdone in Pittsburgh, so unfortunately the food at this restaurant doesn't stand out. However, it's great if you are not looking to try something new. Vibe is not original either but it works. We went on a Monday night and practically had the place to ourselves, which was incredible for a riverside venue. The biggest disappointment was the extremely limited beer selection. For a place that contains "Table and Tap" in the name, I found both underwhelming. If you go for the service and the ambience, on the other hand, you won't be disappointed.
So good. A craft beer lover's dream.
A little pricey for brunch, but a nice option along the river (just wish you could actually see the water). Service was also very slow.
Horrible dining experience (or lack thereof). Visited for a special family dinner before a Pirates game. It was a sold-out Saturday Pirates night game, but we gave ourselves plenty of time with a 5:30 reservation. Waitress immediately informed us it was her third day on the job. Had multiple issues with ordering drinks, only to be told several minutes later they were sold out. After placing food order and waiting close to an hour, we checked with the unconcerned, unapologetic manager who informed us that the order was just put in. Ended up just having to leave without eating a single morsel of food because it was too close to game time. An extreme disappointment all around. Poor management is to blame, as this waitress was in no position to wait on tables on her own.
Heard great reviews of this place, but was extremely disappointed.
Waited 15 min for a server to show up at our table. Service was very slow.
Our food order was wrong, fries were burnt little pieces, our burger buns were dry and stale.
We had no silverware or napkins.
Manager would not come out to speak with us, only offered to take off 1 drink from our bill due to our dissatisfaction.
Will not be returning.
Summer peach salad & local walleye were delicious & service was excellent. Had a beautiful view from the patio. Perfect date night destination!
Very pretty restaurant!!! Staff are VERY nice! Server new the menu well. Excellent place to go and hang out. Will return soon!!! VERY pleased with our experience!!!
Table outside on a lovely eve with great happy hour and service for dinner.
The jerk shrimp and scallops with grits and asparugus was just awful. The grits were lumpy and gummy, the shrimp overcooked, and the asparagus murdered.
The ratatuille risottos didn't have much to make one think of ratatuille.
The management did deduct half of the price for the $27 jerk shrimp dish.
The best place! Service was outstanding, Taylor was an awesome server. We had a wheelchair bound person with us and they were extremely accommodating. We had reserved a patio table outside for 4th of July fireworks after our dinner but it was raining so they got us a table inside and when the rain stopped, dryed off and held a table outside for us to move to! Thanks to a very kind young man who was cleaning off tables (I'm sorry I didn't get his name to give him a big shoutout),
The food was delicious, service was awesome even though they were extremely busy. I would highly recommend this place and WILL be going back, often!
We stopped at The Foundry on my wife's birthday and prior to a Pirates game. We got there early enough to get happy hour prices on drinks. Their specialty cocktails are exceptional. Try the maple old fashion! Food was very tasty and all made with fresh ingredients. The cauliflower appetizer should not be skipped!
I had the bibb salad with roasted chicken and it was amazing.
Great atmosphere, staff was amazing. Food was wonderful. Highly recommend
We had a quick stop in Pittsburgh and we chose The Foundry. I had the Salmon BLT and my husband had the hanger steak. Both were delicious. If you get a salad, i would recommend that you ask for dressing on the side. My sons salad was drenched with dressing, it was overpowering. Also, the kids Mac and cheese was too bland. The kids didn’t like it.
Overall, great place. I’d go back but slightly adjust my order.
Server was great but the food and drinks took a really long time. Multiple meals came out 10-15 minutes after some of our party were already served their meals. I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and there was barely any salmon on it. The server brought me more salmon but by the time I got it my food was cold.
Great Happy Hour
Great place to pregame . Food was very good and happy hour prices were great.
Service was slow. Food was good. Drinks were really good.
The food was excellent and the service was equally good!
Food was delicious, although there is no cohesive theme to the menu. Food seems to have many different influences? But everything our group had was good, especially the walleye and the poutine. The waitress was not very attentive, did not give us specials, and took a long time to bring check. Would go again once seasonal menu changed.
Our server was great. The Foundry was a cool spot to stop at before our girls' night out. Cocktails were excellent!
Lovely place to eat outside before a baseball game. Close to pnc park.
Chicken sandwich is wonderful.
I met a friend for dinner and our entire experience was wonderful. I will return again!
We went here before a concert @ Stage AE. We thought they would be busy bu they were not. Service was good. Food was pretty good. Not all drinks are included in happy hour. beware
Three of us went there for Mothers Day (our first time to the restaurant) and we all had delicious meals - salmon, burgers, etc. Carlos, our waiter, was great! I will definitely go back again.
Mother’s Day brunch. Out waitress was extremely knowledgeable and kind.
We were going to Stage AE prior to the show. They have a nice happy hour and the food isn’t just the same old American Grill selection. I would return
Great atmosphere and place for a group. It was quiet and easy to hear everyone in conversation! Our waitress was great and very attentive! Overall, we had a great visit and would go back.
Great Happy Hour! Dinner was good excellent. Wonderful service.
First time ever in Pittsburg! This is a fun sports gastro pub on a strip of like establishments near the major sports venues! Great selection of beers, both local and imported, and wines by the glass.
Super kale Caesar salad to share. The Lake Erie walleye was delicious, but the accompaniment was missing something! The t-bone pork chop was super! Cooked exactly as I ordered, with yummy sides!
Try it here, you won’t be sorry!
Service was great. Our waiter was very attentive. The good was pretty good. Zero complaints from our group!!
great food great drinks great service..good place to watch a game with friends.
Felt the food was overpriced for what we had. Have had similar items at places around the burgh that was priced better too.
Our waiter was amazing! The food and drinks were great.
We made early dinner reservations on a Friday and were lucky that staff at The Foundry were extremely friendly and accommodating. There were food options that appealed to me and to my husband who was observing Lent. Our server was flexible and when we had to leave early she was able to package the remainder of our meals to-go quickly. The fried sauerkraut on the pierogi was really unusual and unique, and the General Tso's cauliflower was flavorful without being just hot. I thought the boursin in the grilled cheese overpowered the other flavors, but the brussels sprouts side was delicious.
This place was soooo good! Drink menu was great, and the menu had so many delicious options. My friend and I had our dinners narrowed down to 3 choices, so there are plenty of options and it's hard to decide because they all sound so good. I got the fried chicken sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. Delicious!
Very good experience. Variety and unique menu but portions were small for the price. This was based on all 5 meals. Service was excellent.
