Situated in the Red Rocks country 17 miles southwest of Denver on Hwy 285, The Fort is a true replica of Bent's Fort, the first American community west of the Missississippi & rendezvous of Kit Carson & other "Mountain Men". The nine dining rooms, seating 350, are white plastered over adobe. Unusual but hearty dishes, typical of the early West, are provided from open grills. Waugh!

Great atmosphere, real wood fire on a cold snowy night. Excellent staff, Great Food, but it’s pricy.

The type of food was limited in my opinion. I would like to see more beef options, the chairs were hard and not comfortable. Service was OK but not at the level I would have expected, not very attentive.

It was an awesome meal and experience. We have never had an unsatisfactory dining experience there. My wife and I had the Stockman's Special, which was a limited run only during the National Western Stockshow.

We enjoyed the experience and will return again for special occasions. The waitstaff was great and let us enjoy the meal without being rushed. It is a tad pricey for popping in on a regular basis with the family. For my wife and I , it was $260 for 2 meals, appetizer, bottle of wine, 2 cocktails, dessert, 2 after dinner drinks, and tip. Great atmosphere and we really enjoyed sitting near the fire outside and chatting with the Mountain Man.

Wonderful service, loved the theme and story of how the restaurant came to be. Would have liked to see prices on the menu online, to make planning easier. Food was good, but expected a little better food for the price.

Disappointed and embarrassed. My brother and his wife came to Denver to visit. My wife and I had been told by others that to show them a good time you have to check out the Fort. My brother and I ordered the same meal. Bison Ribeye 160z. Mine came out just the way it should have. His came out full of grizzle and tendons and as a result was totally inedible.

My husband had chosen The Fort for his 75th birthday. He is a Mountain Man at heart so this was a perfect setting for a milestone birthday. His son and girlfriend from New York were visiting us in order to be part of his special day. Three of us had the Buffalo Prime Rib special and one of us had the Beef T-Bone special. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. The meat was cooked to perfection. All of the sides and desserts were excellent as well. My husband was given a complimentary dessert of his choosing to top off his meal and his historic birthday celebration. Highly recommend!

I made a reservation way in advance for my husband’s birthday. The main dining room was not busy and they placed us the overflow room. No one joined us in that room for a while all the while more people were taken to the main dining room. My husband’s $51 dollar steak was grizzly. He only ate half of it. Very disappointed with the whole experience.
