Excellent as always.
Great service and delicious food!
I hate to say it but I was very disappointed. Brought my wife for our 10 year anniversary, was really looking forward to evening based on what I had heard. Unfortunately the service wasn't very good, most of the evening my glass of tea was empty. My Buffalo Fillet, ordered medium, was WELL done. The upgraded side, green chili mac and cheese was dry and not hot. The guacamole was fantastic, best I've ever had! All in all for $180 I was extremely disappointed, we could have had much better at Outback.
We had Great service, good food, but very expensive.
Excellent service & scrumptious meal, but wished we had a table near the windows for the view. This option was never mentioned in the reservation form.
Too pricey for mediocre food. Great drink though.
However we loved the setting and the originality.
Was there on a Tuesday night with reservations. Had to wait about about 10 minutes. They were busy but not slammed and it looked like they were a bit understaffed. Everyone tried hard to please and service was good.
Always a great place to take out of town people.
Great appetizers that have been a long staple. Peanut butter stuffed jalapenos, Buffalo sausage and bone marrow, crisply quail breasts. Specialty drinks are always fun.
Prices for every entrees are getting up there and the basic sides that come with the entrees were unremarkable. Mashed potatoes and half an ear of corn.
Ambiance and view get a 10 as always.
The Fort is worth visiting at least once, just to understand the hype. Western menu items and view are the benefits. Food was well prepared but ordinary. Salad was forgettable. Service was attentive, but all were required to wear absurd costumes, making for a circus atmosphere. Very loud and hectic setting. The prices suggest fine dining, but all of the rest does not say "fine dining".
The waiter used to ask if you were celebrating anything when making first contact. No more. The secondary server gave us attention, smiles, and eye contact than our main waiter(waitress).
Birthday party, and this must be one of the most spectacular settings in Denver. Fantastic service, delicious food, and the restaurant is s sight to be seen!! Can not wait to come back.
We had heard about the Fort for years - especially since they specialized in wild game. We found their "large" appetizers to be paltry in size for a party of 4. And the steaks were tough and full of grizzle. Overall we were not impressed and basically underwhelmed. Our European guests were also not impressed. It seemed to be a worn out tourist trap.
A gem of a steakhouse. I went with the ribeye. Perfectly done. Our group also had the walleye, salmon, beef ribs and bison ribeye. All delicious not a complaint.
This was my first visit to The Fort, and it won’t be my last. My Mum wanted to bring me here to celebrate my birthday, and I was a little concerned, mainly because of the price. I’m so, so glad she talked me into it. Everything about the experience was extraordinary, from when we were greeted at the front desk until MaryBeth brought the check. We never felt rushed in any way, quite the contrary. We felt pampered, and welcomed like old friends. We may have come for a special occasion, but we felt comfortable and relaxed. The food was exquisite, and I will have no reservation about ordering anything on the menu in the future. Very enthusiastic compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. I can’t say enough good things about The Fort. It more than lives up to all the hype. Thank you so much for the extraordinary birthday experience.
While I've enjoyed The Fort for many years, I'm disappointed by the lack of good veggie choices with meals. Our standard veggie was corn on the cob. What happened to roasted squash, or an upgrade to asparagus or broccoli??? Not what I expected from such a high end establishment with a long culinary history.
Extremely over priced. The ambiance seemed fake. The chairs were uncomfortable.
The Fort is a great place to go for that special occasion. the food is excellent and the service it tops. the views and the ambiance is fantastic.
We took two friends to the Fort who had never been there before. They loved it and now understand why it is our favorite restaurant. We had the T-Bone special and one of us had the game platter. We shared the wild sausage platter as an appetizer. All the food was very delicious, the steaks cut like butter and were properly cooked. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful with suggestions. There was a Mountain Man function going on in the courtyard and an art sale which made it even more enjoyable to dine that night. The atmosphere, an 1800's fort, is really cool especially when the Mountain Men are about. We always highly recommend the Fort to all our friends.
The food is way overpriced for what you get. I was disappointed in the quality of my steak. Tough. Dry. I ordered medium. Mashed potatoes were very salty. Salad was very small. The main draw is the setting and the unique building. The rest is meh. It costs a fortune. Too bad.
Extremely over priced!
Food quality was no greater than any other place.
This is the third time we've been there, and we left with the same opinion each time!
a nice dinner with very good food and a very nice setting. Somewhat on the expensive side of things. use it only for very special occasions
Nice place to go for celebrations. A little too pricey for the quality of food.
Always a great birthdays place or event location, that we are lucky enough to have close to home!
Brian our waiter was excellent. Good people skills. One of the steaks was rough on one side and he handled it very professionally. It had been a while since I visited your restaurant. Still fantastic great food and great service. One thing I would like to say, I am from Europe
and I do not like the dishes picked up so soon, while some might be done, why not wait until the entire table is done, like with a salad. Perhaps a personal thing, but this does not happen in Europe in a classy restaurant, like yours The Fort. Feel free to contact me if I did not make my self clear. Thank you. Best regards Agi Rosenberg.
Had our anniversary dinner here.. great atmosphere to spend special occasions..
Service staff are attentive. Food presentation and taste were exceptional.
I'll be honest - I hadn't come here before because I thought it would be a tourist trap. Wow was I wrong - the food was interesting, surprisingly unique and extremely well done. The "Fort" theme is whimsical and while it borders on too much, it's authentic and combined with clever drinks, a bit of history and a well-resolved menu, it totally works. The outside patio (which I didn't know about - we'll ask next time!) is nothing short of spectacular.
Everything was delicious!! Guacamole, bacon wrapped quail, bison, elk, beef, stuffed vegan pepper, chocolate cake, creme’ brûlée!! Moscow mules!! Yummy!! Wish we would have arrived before sunset!
Went to the Fort for a date before a concert at Red Rocks. It was beautiful on the patio where we had cocktails before going inside for dinner. The service and food were excellent.
Too expensive and not a good menu selection. Would not go back.
Different menu - expect the unexpected. Great service. Very expensive so save for a special occasion. We enjoyed our night out. A nice finish to our vacation!
THE PRICE OF FOOD WAS A TAD HIGH. THE CHAIRS HAD A LOT TO BE DESIRED. THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT.
We had reservations for our anniversary. Arrived about 5minutes early and were promptly seated. Pretty much ended there.
Took at least 15 minutes before anyone showed up at the table.
Recieved menus. Another 10 minutes later a waiter showed up to take drink orders. I asked for a beer and my wife water with lemon. Also placed our order for food, 1 appetizer and the 2 entrees with wine.
Got beer in about 5 minutes and water also, no lemon.
A 10 - 15 min later the app came. I have to say the rocky mountain oysters were excellent. Salads next.
Main entrees probably 15 min after app along with wine selections.
My wife ordered the bison ribs. They were meaty but the bbq sauce wasn't great. Not on the side.
I ordered the favorite 'wild game plate', bison, elk, and quail. By far the elk was the best item. Bison ok. Quail was very small (I hunt and know they are small birds, but this was sparrow sized) in a very sweet glaze. My wife had never had it and tried a small portion. Didn't like either.
Up side they did give us a free dessert as it was a special occasion.
Probably never go back. The Buckhorn Exchange is in my opinion much better if you want a wild game meal.
The food was excellent. The atmosphere was great and the drive to the restaurant was beautiful. I would highly recommend The Fort for special occasions such as birthdays or anniversary's. It was our first time there and we were very impressed.
Food was very good. Just a little pricey.
Meat was incredible. Sides lacking. Salad smelled and tasted moldy and looked wilted. Waitress made no effort to resolve. Potatoes cold, corn a little soggy. Go for the meat and view.
We had a wonderful dining experience. Great food, service, and all around location. Definitely would go there again.
I have ordered margaritas several times t the for and i loved them, but this time they did not taste good at all.thin color and bitter taste .I was disapointed because t he margaritas are the main reason i picked this place. everything else was great.
The Fort has a wonderful, Old West atmosphere. The back patio view is breathtaking. The front "formal" dinung room is very nice, perfect for wedding parties. The main, large dining room is more roomy & comfortable. The menu is varied, imaginative, and everyone at our table enjoyed their appetizers and dinner entrees. HOWEVER, the prices are DOUBLE what is acceptable at a fine steakhouse restaurant. I really enjoyed the restaurant, as well as the wandering actor who gave us entertaining stories and facts about the area. But I really am not inclined to go back because of the extremely high prices.
Wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. We have gone there over the years and several years ago the quality of the food seemed to be slipping a little. It is back to top notch.
Outstanding service, great management, a couple of mistakes in the kitchen but the staff absolutely made things right. Fantastic patio. Cool atmosphere. Will certainly return
