Great history and ambiance. Beautiful natural setting and location. Food was very good.
The Fort was amazing. The service was impeccable, the food was absolutely perfect, and the atmosphere was fun and friendly.
Way overpriced. Simple food for outrageous prices. Watered down pomegranate martini w/absolute vodka $18!?! $49 for 8oz of prime rib with simple mashed potatoes and snap peas?! Nothing special, comfort food. Yikes! I get that this has some schtick and it is basically an institution in Colorado. However, I would suggest that comfort food + okay service+ a wobbly table dressed up in a white tablecloth does not = an almost $400 dinner.
Very good 16 oz T-bone and bison prime rib. Extensive wine list. Free dessert for anniversary. Staff was very friendly and well versed with the menu. I thought it was extremely pricey but great for our anniversary. It was our first time there.
The waiter was great very friendly. This was our first time at The Fort and we plan on going back. Would love to set outside. There is an amazing view. The food was great really liked th jalapeño stuffed with peanut butter.
This was an amazing dining experience! It was almost impossible to choose an appetizer or entree plate because everything sounded exceptionally delicious!
The atmosphere was perfect. Not too loud. There was a gentleman playing Native American flute music, another was telling the patrons of the history of The Fort. They had a fire when you first entered the courtyard...it was calming and absolutely perfect!
And the customer service was as pleasant as the rest of the experience. We didnt feel rushed, but we also didnt feel like they "forgot" about us.
I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone and I guarantee that we will be back for more bison marrow bones!
Thank you for a wonderful experience!
We had a wonderful time, the green chili queso was fun and tasty and the T-Bone steak was cooked to perfection. It was our Anniversary and the staff made everything very special.
My girlfriend and I did a date night.....you know sometimes you just need to let her know how much you care with a nice dinner
We come to the Fort whenever we're in Denver. It has a lovely location in the foothills overlooking Denver. We like to take friends there to see the unique architecture and decor, and to enjoy the interesting menu, great food and excellent service. We recommend it to anyone who wants an unusual dinning experience.
Our meal service at the Port was absolutely outstanding and I would recommend to anyone looking for that special occasion to have it at the Fort.
What a fantastic place with fabulous service. Thank you, Kevin, for a wonderful experience.
We will be back
The food was quite good, but it was missing something. Quail appetizer wasn't worth it, had better at Saltgrass. It had been 25+ years but won't go back on my dollar. I find Perrys better out of the several high end dinner places I have been to.
Fabulous setting and interesting menu -- fun for visitors. Many items were really overpriced to me, but plenty wasn't. The Trade Whisky was tasty and definitely an interesting twist. Ribs delicious...skip the apps and stick with the meal.
Always love the Fort. Food and service always fantastic. Kids love it and the view is pure Colorado.
Dining at the Fort is ALWAYS wonderful!
Delicious food, will definitely return!
Great EASTER dinner
We had a wonderful family dinner with a view of the valley. We enjoyed the cactus margaritas with our Rocky Mountain oysters. The appetizer was large enough to share with four people. Every one enjoyed their entrees.
Every bit of food and drink was amazing. Not just ‘really good’ but fantastic.
My t-bone was done perfectly but the steak itself was gristly and a bit fatty, not what I expect from the Fort. My cousin's plate had to be sent back because all the food was cold.
Had a wonderful evening! Delicious food with exceptional service! Recommended to others.
The Fort is always a fun place to go and the food is great! If you are looking for a place with character and great steak, check out The Fort.
My wife and I have been married for almost fifty years. Our first date was a dinner date at the fort. It was great then, and remains a favorite of ours. It is unique, and authentic. In warm weather, we sometime stop for a drink, an appetizer or two, and maybe a dessert out on the patio on the east side of the building, which has a great view of metro Denver. We highly recommend it.
My husband and family had eaten here many years ago. After moving to Denver, this was on our Celebration Location list, waiting for my husband to get a job in the area. We had a long wait for the job, but the celebration at the Fort was everything wonderful we wanted in a celebration.
We had a beautiful table by the window, unfortunately the heat vent was right next to my chair. It was so hot that it heated my purse and the chain on it. Unknown to me until I grabbed the chain on my purse and burnt the side if my hand to the point it blistered. Maybe that's not a good place for a table in the winter?
Took my husband here for his birthday. The service was outstanding, the food was unique and delicious and it is a unique venue. My husband got to where the buffalo birthday hat, which was hilarious! We actually had our rehearsal dinner here last fall and it was a perfect location for the size group we had. I like it for special events or visitors from out of town.
It was mine and my wife's first time there it also was her birthday we ordered some bison fillets and they were amazing the macaroni and cheese also amazing we will be going back
The Fort is more than a place to dine, it is an adventure into traditional foods from the old West. Where else can you find elk or wild boar? And of course their masterpiece is buffalo. A visit to The Fort will satisfy you to be sure and you won't leave hungry. But you will also gain a taste of life back when the West was still untamed.
The ambiance and the overall experience is well worth it. The historic building is so much fun to take in. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional.
Disappointed in the service. I had buffalo prime rib wonderful, but friends Tbone steak, overcooked, lots of gristle, and the server never came to check if cooked properly when served. Also we were never offered refills on water or iced tea. Not sure we will go back.
We enjoyed the atmosphere, the place was packed so reservations were needed. The food overall was good, the drinks also were good. Hubby had the prime rib which he says was pretty good. I had the market price ribeye which was a tad undercooked and had more gristle than I expected - it was hard to cut and to chew. The forest mushrooms were really good as were the buffalo eggs.
First off, the service is incredible but embarrassing slow. The food is rather boring, very little plate presentation and costly. It's a bus tour restaurant given the tour trap decor. We've eaten there four times with the same menu and zero lack of creativity. Tonight was our last costly yet boring dinner at The Forte
We had a table by the windows. Wonderful view but very cold air coming through. Restaurant was empty (Monday P.M.) Salad had real blue cheese, which is non-existent in other restaurants. Ordered two t-bone steak dinners. Husband’s was tender, mine too tough to cut. Wait staff was pleasant but forgot coffee which had been ordered with dessert. Food overall was average. Go because it’s a fort, not because it’s great food.
The best place in the Denver area for a special occasion celebration. The food is awesome, and many items you can't get any place else. Plus, the service is unsurpassed...
Pretty cool spot, good ambiance...good variety of items. Appetizers were pretty small for price (and odd numbered, 5 small pieces of bacon wrapped quail, if you're sharing I'd rather have 4 bigger pieces) got the incorrect steak.. Good flavor
We came for our wedding anniversary and the location and building were amazing. My wife had the Kit Carson turkey and green chili Mac and cheese. The turkey dish was not to her or my liking I think the broth was a base we were not fond of. The Mac and cheese was amazing! I had the buffalo prime rib and it was amazing however the snap peas did not even seem cooked. I ordered a IPA and received it in a bottle not sure but I assumed it would be in draft and such a fine dining.
Visiting family in the area and had a wonderful native meal.
Great dining experience. It always is a great to have a diner.
The Fort is a real dinning experience. Wonderful location, food and service. It always gets an A+ rating from us.
Great for birthdays
Went there for a birthday two out of the three steaks we're not cooked right had to send back. In one of my guest had their salad taken away before they were done with it. 0ther than that it was good.
