Tenderlips Colorado Natural Beef Filet Mignon
so tender it is like the first kiss! 6-ounce center cut beef filet grilled to perfection, served with seasonal vegetables and Fort potatoes.
As usual the Elk Medallions were delicious. The service was great. Lovely evening
I already made a full review on Google maps. The sirloin was not good at all. Super tough and super hard to chew. The ribeye although looked good was not very tasty. Too much uneatable parts to the steak and both were way over priced. The Guacamole was some of the best I've had. The Bison ribs were great, but not alot of meat.
Always one of our favorite places, and it never disappoints. Tables were appropriately distanced; server were all masked. Felt completely comfortable. Food and drinks were awesome. Loved the game plate, with the quail being particularly tasty. Can't wait for our next trip back :)
Great food, fabulous service & wonderful staff. Thank you for all you do!
Great food! Love going here for the elk and bison steaks!
Great service and food! Tables are socially distanced and staff have temperature checks and wear masks. We feel very safe eating at The Fort.
Love this place and always will, the setting and location are second to none. Service was fantastic. Food was only ok. Buffalo prime rib was tough and under seasoned, mashed potatoes has a crust from sitting under the salamander too long. We will be back.
Had a great time, but the chair I had was so hard my thighs were in significant pain. The food was very good, the drinks were mixed very well, and the dessert was great!
Great dining experience! The menu had so many choices, everyone was pleased!
I hadn't been to the Fort in probably 15 years or so. But visitors from out of town and 2 birthdays called for a special dinner. The Fort did the trick! Tons of history, authentic western ambience, and exceptional quality wild game food choices make this a very unique restaurant. Our server, Lynn, did such a great job the first time, we went back and asked for her specifically. As always, she was charming, very knowledgeable, and went the extra mile to make sure our experience was nothing less than stellar. We will be back the next time we want a special dinner!
Amazing food and service!!! Love this place!!!
We took some friends as a going away party, before they move to Tennessee. Could not have been a better Colorado experience. I have been there six or eight times over the last 25 years. Never disappoints.
We return to this restaurant at least once a year for a special night out. Have never been disappointed. We both had the Fort's Game Plate and loved it. Went great with the Old Vine Zinfandel from 7 Deadly Zins.
Unique, lovely facility. Unusual, very interesting menu. Food was excellent as was the service.
The bison prime rib never disappoints and we love the bison tongue for an appetizer. The shrimp side was a touch salty or perhaps over-seasoned but excellent nonetheless. Too many places overcook their shrimp but The Fort gets it right. The fresh bread is always great too. I'm not much of a fan of anything with pumpkin but the pumpkin rolls were spot on delicious.
Worst meal & service I have ever had at the Fort. Our server has been at the Fort for 20 years & I can only guess under their new guide lines, she must have been given 7 tables to be responsible for & didn't do it well. Had a drink & two appetizers & our entrees arrived 1 hour 30 minutes after we were seated...we left after 2 hours 15 minutes...slowest service EVER. The warmest part of our meal was the bread...our skillet plates were warm to the touch & my wife only ate half her meal ONLY because it was too cold. Portions were off...I had 10-12? green beans & my daughter was served 5. All our children have worked in the food service industry & we know you never return your food for ANY reason, instead we will never drive 50 minutes for $100 dollar a plate to eat at the Fort...too many great restaurants closer by for the same price with exceptional service & food.
We brought my son and grandsons to the Fort to celebrate my son
s 40th birthday. Social distancing guidelines were being followed and everything was clean and sanitary. We had a slight mishap when the water carafe spilled; the staff had it cleared and a new tablecloth on in no time. The food, as always, was unsurpassed, cooked exactly right for everyone. I've been coming to the Fort since I was 17, and it's still a very special treat to go there nearly 50 years later. Same beautiful setting, same excellent food, and impeccable service. The Fort is one of those places you owe to yourself to visit, truly a 5-star experience.
Dinner was wonder and the staff was very attentive. It was our forty fourth anniversary and everyone went out of their way to provide superb service.
The buffalo tenderloin was incredible. The green beans and oven baked potatoes were something we make at home. Blueberry pie was delicious.
The Fort is one of our all time favorites. It's a Colorado must-go-to. The food and the service are sublime.
It was our 35th Anniv. We noted that in the reservation. The table we received was right next to the server stand, and backed up to a fireplace, and thus was right on the isle, next to stairs and server stand. VERY noisy.
The waiter basically took our orders. We were never asked how our food was. We were never asked if we wanted another drink. Our water glass sat unfilled for the latter half of dinner; I just drank from my wife's, hoping someone would notice.
We have been to the Fort several times. Would have liked a table SOMEWHERE with some view. Especially for a nice occasion. It would have made it easier to excuse less than par service.
Brought the entire family. Such a a great time and the food was amazing.
The Fort still lives up to its high standards, even with limitations due to COVID. We arrived before our table was ready so the manager served us drinks outside by the teepees. The dry aged beef ribeye was incredible as were the lamb chops. Service was top notch with attentive waitstaff. With the bread, salads and sides included, there wasn’t much room to try the apps, but we tried the peanut butter stuffed jalapeños which were different but ok, and finished with an excellent crepe brûlée. Unquestionably worth the 50 minute drive to Morrison from Boulder. It is a special place.
The elk medallions were fantastic and the service was top notch! Always a great experience
The service was timely and excellent. The food and beverages were done very tastefully. The dining experience was well worth it.
Good service, good food, nice atmosphere. A very good place for business or pleasure dining.
One of the best food and ambience places i have ever been. Definitely a must visit
Fabulous service! Great ambiance. Everything really was perfect for a birthday celebration. Thank you!
Kevin took great care of us and was just attentive enough. We were seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time. Most of the food was remarkable and the one thing that disappointed us was adjusted off the bill. This is our destination every time we drive through, and always will be.
Fun location with interesting cuisine. We enjoyed the rustic dishes here and the separation of tables and open doors helped us feel comfortable with eating out during COVID19.
Amazing food - the Game Plate was perfect for sharing, along with the Lamb TBones - and outstanding service! Kevin and Malia really went the extra mile and even had our corn cobs split in half so everyone in our party of 4 got to enjoy it! Our salads were also split so no one felt shortchanged. We also split the variety Appetizer with Buffalo oysters, buffalo tongue crostinis and peanut butter stuffed jalapeños. Very interesting! One in our party also got the crispy lamb ribs and offered to share, but that was way too messy. The elk medallions were do tender and therefore our favorite.
We left room for some dessert to enjoy here - the cheesecake lived up to its description of light and fluffy, and we got 2 of the dark chocolate Negriti’s to go.
Kevin gave us history on the restaurant and helped me locate the 5 Remington reproductions in the restaurant, then encouraged us to walk around on our own. The place is huge and so beautifully built right up against the rock.
My husband & I just celebrated our 29 year anniversary i wanted to go outside of the norm to celebrate & the Fort definitely was what I was seeking, perfect views, relaxingly quiet environment the food 👌 & not forget the service our waitress was exceptionally friendly & new the menu to the T! We will definitely be returning.
I asked server about steak doneness and ordered accoudingly med rare. My steak was overcooked. The cut was very fatty. My wifes walleye was likewise overcooked and dry. Its still a nice place and our guests enjoyed it. The quail was excellent. Thanks
I brought my husband here for his 30th birthday and I am so sad it took us so long to try this place! It was delicious and the experience was amazing. Of course it's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and it's definitely a unique experience, well worth it!
Best steak I ever had
Great atmosphere and service along with excellent food. Didn’t get the table I wanted, but everything else was perfect. Will go back soon.
My visiting brother-in-law took myself and my wife to the Fort this particular evening. It's always been a favorite of ours, and we fully expected a great experience similar to what we've always enjoyed over the years. Unfortunately, this wasn't to be the case.
We started with the peanut butter stuff jalapenos. We've had them before, and always loved them, but this evening they were served ice cold. The peanut butter was nearly frozen. It was like trying to cut through a Tootsie roll. Nothing like what we've had in the past. My brother-in-law, and myself ordered the $39 buffalo steak special that was being offered. My wife ordered an entree salad We started with some rolls and pumpkin muffins. These were excellent. We were then brought salads. They were good quality salads, aside from the fact that they were very light on the dressing. They were a little bit dry. No big deal certainly.
Next came our entrees. The buffalo steaks were served with some type of grits, and corn on the cob. I wasn't a big fan of the grits. It may just because I've never had them before, but they seemed very bland to me. Corn was corn. It was tasty, as corn usually is. My brother-in-law said his steak was very good. Mine however was a different story. My steak was mostly fat and gristle. This seems especially unusual for buffalo, since it's usually so lean. I think I got maybe 3 bites of meat from my steak. Most of it was impossible to cut through because it had a large strip of gristle going through it. Very disappointing to say the least.
I thought about telling our waiter, but since we were being treated by my wife's brother, I decided to keep quiet. Probably not the smartest decision.
We've been going to the Fort for years, and always enjoyed top-notch food, and excellent service, so I probably won't let this experience keep us from going back. Hopefully it's not a trend. This most definitely isn't typical for the Fort.
My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and one of our sons and his wife we’re celebrating their first anniversary and finally our youngest son was celebrating his 21st birthday. We were seated in a room I believe they called the tower room which was private and perfect and cozy. We had a lovely view of the outdoor patio and a beautiful Colorado night. I love The friendly staff and how they never rush you in an out. And we always enjoy hearing from the historian who also plays the beautiful native American flute. All around just a perfect evening with delicious food and great service and ambience.
Always great food. Covid style seating though in the banquet area. Wonderful evening. Treated us right.
Great food and service! After a mix up with our food, the manager provided complimentary meals to our table. We will be back!
