Rocky Mountain Oysters
The last thing that jumps over the fence as our ranchers say. Small buffalo bites tossed in seasoned panko and deep fried to a crispy golden brown. Served with a tangy sweet chili sauce. One of our most popular appetizers! 1/2 Order, Full order.
Tenderlips Colorado Natural Beef Filet Mignon
so tender it is like the first kiss! 6-ounce center cut beef filet grilled to perfection, served with seasonal vegetables and Fort potatoes.
Sam's Famous Guacamole
Denver's Best Guacamole with big chunks of avocado, tomato, onion and fresh squeezed lime, served with corn tortilla chips. 1/2 Order, Full order.
Love this place. Great food and wonderful setting.
Service was superb. Food was excellent and well proportioned. R.M. oysters were slightly overcooked. Ambience is unique. Our experience was well worth the price.
Buffalo filet was delicious and cooked perfectly. Server was attentive and pleasant.
We all thought that the service was slow, the food was average and the price for food and drinks was way too much.
Unique dinner spot - great food & ambiance
Lovely and delicious dinner for 2 by the fireplace! Ruth was fun and took great care of us!
We usually reserve the Fort for special occasions, but decided to go for Denver Restaurant Week. The Fort had tables well spaced so we felt completely safe while we dined. Food good and a good value.
Always great Colorado dining at The Fort
This restaurant has been a around for many years. And is still one of the top restaurants in the state. All you have to do is taste the food and know why. But it's not only the food but it is the atmosphere and the history souronding this place that sets it apart from anything else in Denver.
We arrived super hungry and it took a while to get our order taken but everything ended up wonderful. The chips and guac were fantastic, yummy salad with delicious rolls and then the entree. My buffalo prime rib was to die for but the best thing was my husband's butter buffalo tenderloin. While eating our meal I popped online and made reservations for Christmas Eve dinner for my family. This will now be our go to place for special occasions.
A wonderful date night, lovely ambiance and fabulous food. The service is superb
Very much enjoy The Fort. Always well taken care of.
Great experience good food and fantastic service!!! It is a wonderful experience!
We decided to have a nice party for our employees. It was only 5 of us. Everything was just perfect.
Our experience at The Fort was exceptional. Everything from our table location (near the patio), wait staff, food and beverages was outstanding. One member of our party had a birthday and dessert arrived with a candle. The staff was courteous, thoughtful, professional, yet personable. It was a delightful evening.
Always great food. I still some desserts that don't include spicy.
A wonderful night out. We were offered an outstanding wine from Frank vineyards CA at a deep discount price. Our meals were superb. We had the herb butter buffalo filet and the game plate. The staff was awesome from the time we entered the Fort until we left. Could not have been better in any way.
Great place, lots of options to try different kinds of meats. Food was excellent. Make sure to plan enough time, its not a quick event which is fine.
Had a great anniversary dinner- service was amazing! Food was terrific!
We go to The Fort a couple times a year for special occasions. This us the first time we've been disappointed. The food was excellent but our server was poor. Once the food arrived, she never came back to see if we needed anything else or check to see if we wanted another glass of wine. Her whole demeanor was more of what you'd expect at a diner, not a fine dining restaurant. The other thing that bothered us is there seems to be more and more people coming there dressed like they're going to McDonald's. It ruins the ambience.
Great. First time we ate in the historical room, great atmosphere! Great servers, as always. Had a fun discussion with the flute guy and the fur trader. Always love it.
The Fort has an impeccable staff of servers, chefs, and assistants and even the celebratory tomahawk opening of the champagne bottle for our anniversary was exquisitely done! Thank you for another memorable anniversary at The Fort!
Always a favorite. This is one of the best steakhouses outside of downtown Denver and it still ranks in the top 3 when you include Denver. Unique meat options and different preparations that you don't find at modern steakhouses. My personal line up is the stuffed jalapeños (get over the description and just try them) and the Gonzales Steak. All of that enjoyed with a Hailstorm Julep, request it be made with Colorado's own Stranahan's Whisky. Great for family, friends and especially visitors.
We LOVE this place! It is so special to my boyfriend & I. It’s my grandparents favorite restaurant & now it’s one of our favorite restaurants. Lynn was INCREDIBLE! The food was delicious, the drinks. Everything! Thank you for making my boyfriends birthday so memorable! We’ll be back!
The Fort is lovely and the ambiance was romantic and relaxing. The food was not up to par with their prices unfortunately. Horrible after taste with the meat and it wasn’t the normal “game” flavor. The drinks were good and the service was wonderful. The food was just a huge let down. We paid $200 for dinner and it wasn’t worth it.
Absolutely love it here! Great food every time. Wonderful wine list. Come for our anniversary whenever we can.
We love coming to the Fort. Our service tonight with Mary Beth and her assistant (Kiera) was the best ever. We love the ambiance and the settler and flute player added to that tonight. Every time we come to the Fort it is special. Thanks for a job well done. The food was amazing as always.
Very Expensive! We were seated in the very bright courtyard, not romantic at all for our 20th Anniversary. The food did not live up to expectations. My husband loved the game plate. My Bison Prime Rib tasted off. The Negritas were amazing! My husband had always wanted to come to The Fort so I brought him here to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary. Loved the Native American flute player!
Experiencing The Fort restaurant during a pandemic was an excellent way to spend Halloween. The food was good, especially the bread and the ambience was even better. Social distancing guidelines were followed making for a most comfortable visit.
We were celebrating a birthday and it was the perfect place as it is so unique to Colorado. The choice of appetizers, entrees, and desserts was vast! Our food was prepared exactly as requested and delicious! Definitely will be back, especially for another occasion and/or with out-of-town guests!
Best dining experience we have had in years. No rushing, servers we exceptional, food was beyond any expecting we had. A dining experience we’ll always remember. Can’t wait for our next visit!
We love The Fort and its a tradition for our Anniversary. They have great specials, you dont feel rushed ever when dining. They allow you to take your time to eat and enjoy your time.
Very neat place. Buffalo not my cup of tea but was prepared nice. Service was slow but with the Rona staffing who knows. Everything had it's own flavor and wasn't generic. Green beans were horrible. Tasted raw and flavorless.
As usual the Elk Medallions were delicious. The service was great. Lovely evening
I already made a full review on Google maps. The sirloin was not good at all. Super tough and super hard to chew. The ribeye although looked good was not very tasty. Too much uneatable parts to the steak and both were way over priced. The Guacamole was some of the best I've had. The Bison ribs were great, but not alot of meat.
My favourite restaurant in Denver. Always my birthday choice. Unique and fun with a great view.
Very cool venue; every employee was very polite and courteous, server was a little slow with the initial greeting, but much improvement after that. Menu was well presented. Food was a little disappointing; I had the Bison Prime Rib; it was over-spiced and tasted like I was eating left-overs. Sides were dull and very skimpy on size. Salad was dull. For appetizers we have the guacamole and the bone marrow. Guacamole was excellent. Bone marrow didn't have much taste, and the crostini slices were too thin; they broke easily when you tried to spread the marrow on them. I would not give them another try.
My brother in law uses a walker. The staff was great trying to seat him, but it was difficult for him to go down stairs. It was MY fault as I forgot to tell them when I made the reservation.
Always one of our favorite places, and it never disappoints. Tables were appropriately distanced; server were all masked. Felt completely comfortable. Food and drinks were awesome. Loved the game plate, with the quail being particularly tasty. Can't wait for our next trip back :)
