   We had The Burger absolutely the Best burger we have ever had. Service was really good very attentive and nothing was a bother. We would definitely recommend eating here.

   Excellent Sunday lunch. Quality fresh ingredients and generous portions. Probably the best we've enjoyed this year in North Yorkshire. Lovely ambience and a great pint of Black Sheep Respite! Thanks to everyone.

   Have been to The Foresters before and anticipated a nice Sunday lunch. The food was served by inexperienced staff on cold plates so by the time I was halfway through my lunch it was already cold. I asked for a specific brand of alcohol free lager and was told it was unavailable. I wasn’t offered any alternative. Overall, very disappointing especially considering the price.

   Beautiful food. Nice quiet and relaxing place to eat even with 2 children. Would highly recommend.

   This was a bit of a reunion meal with my kids - we hadn’t been together for several months so conversation was important. We were given a table in a bar but the noise levels of the few bombastic people there meant we could hardly hear each other. A quieter table in another room would have suited us better. However the service was superb & friendly. If anything, the portions were over generous - huge and excessive - but I expect they get a lot of hungry hikers - the pizza overladen with cheese which meant it was too much - fortunately we were given pizza boxes. Similarly the Affogato was excessive in ice cream with hardly any espresso - only a half cup - this was a bit of a disappointment and more coffee would have been an improvement.

   Lovely pub, it was busy when we arrived but the service was good, staff very polite and helpful. The menu is good, although it was Sunday there was still a good choice of food other than Sunday roast. I ordered a lamb roast and hubby ordered a Forresters burger. My meal came with 4 thick slices of beautiful lamb cooked perfectly, roasted veg, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and a side of veg, extra gravy snd mint sauce. I can honestly say that it was one of the best sunday roast meals i have had out in a restaurant, i would definitely recommend.

    Food was lovely, however one of the servers was quite abrupt and didn’t make us feel welcome. The wine was £13 a glass, very expensive. Then they add a service charge onto the bill - didn’t realise until we got home. This information was not displayed which I think is wrong It should be upto the customer to tip whatever they feel necessary. Due to the rudeness of the server I wouldn’t have left a tip. She was an older woman, the young girls were smashing
