The Fork & Flask at Nage Ratings and Reviews
The food is really good. We love the food here. That's the good news. I got their birthday promotion (a nice deal - 15% off plus two glasses of cava) and now I remember why we didn't rush back. It was incredibly noisy. In February. Granted, it was a holiday weekend, but still, we had to lean close and speak up in order to hear each other. The other big drawback for us was very limited selection of dishes without meat, plus for one of us, shellfish. Are we not over bacon is everything yet? Bacon was in dishes that truly didn't need it. Brussels sprouts. Butternut squash soup. Seriously? And a fish special that I wanted was already gone by 7:00. So next year, that birthday postcard gets recycled. But if noise and meat are fine with you, enjoy.
Nage is consistently good; however the pricing is beginning to get steep for the portion served. Service as good but not attentive for these prices. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Nage no longer serves bread with your meal so you must request it. Found this disappointing. We will return but will probably done in the bar as service is way better there.
This was a totally ordinary brunch. There's nothing special going on here. We were treated to music from the kitchen, and mostly indifferent servers. Our omelets were fine, as described.
The omelets are offered without toast or bread of any kind, so I requested a biscuit and was served a biscuit on a plate. No jam, no butter, no nothing.
It seems like Sunday brunch is an afterthought here and with so many other good places in the area, I won't bother with this one again.
The food was very good but it was loud and tight. I think there were just too many tables for the space and for the kitchen to handle. It took almost an hour to get our food and our waiter seemed overwhelmed. We did go on Christmas Eve, though, so that might have been abnormal. Would recommend for a regular weeknight when they may be less busy.
We were a party of 7 on Christmas Eve eve. The location had easy parking. The hostess was terrific. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. She interacted with us just enough. The food was fantastic. Our cocktails were made perfectly. With our servers help we had their best appetizers and when choosing between two entrees, she steered us in the right direction. The ambiance was minimalistic and very cool. The noise level was perfectlty contained. Finally they had options for a four year old too. Go there if you can!
The holiday directions made the cozy restaurant feel extra special. The unique central American specials that night were a great example of the Unique Charm this restaurant always offers. The fried Olives are a must! Our waiter was attentive, learned and remembered all of our names and his enthusiasm to serve us made the food and drink even better.
As always, when you go to Fork and Flask, you get great food and the best drinks in the area. They are very creative with their Flask Drinks and the food is just as creative. And the staff, well that makes Fork and Flask the best restaurant in the area. Very friendly and helpful.
My husband and I visited Nage a few years ago before it became Fork and Flask and, though it was good, it wasn’t really memorable. Fork and Flask is memorable both from a facility and food standpoint but also from a service standpoint. My husband had the oysters Asiago for a starter and a pork entree that was so tender and delicious! I started with one of the tastiest butternut squash soups I’ve ever had and cod croquettes which were wonderful. Of course we had to order desserts too and can’t say enough about the ‘simple’ cake...They refer to some of the desserts as small bites but they are perfect sized for the end of a filling meal. If you have the privilege of being served by Tyler, you’ll be sure to enjoy your evening! He is knowledgeable, so personable and attentive - we lacked for nothing during the meal. We were also fortunate enough to meet Joe Charles, the chef, so we could thank him for all the taste treats. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit Rehoboth Beach!
