   We had been here before and always had a good experience However, today was not so good, completely empty, no atmosphere at all The menu prices have gone up considerably which is understandable at the moment but £38 for an 8oz steak? £50 for 12oz the place isn’t fancy enough to command those prices Empty tables clearly show that I had Tuna which was nice , we paid £4.50 for halloumi fries and got 3 fries! Overall ok but nowhere near as good as it used to be

   Service was very slow but friendly. The quality of the steak was excellent and it cooked beautifully on the hot stone, but that didn’t work as well for chicken which overcooked and dried out very quickly. Unfortunately there is nowhere on the platter to put the food you want to save from further cooking.

   It took 50 minutes for us to receive our starters. The food was okay, my steak was nothing special to be honest, I was expecting more especially considering the prices. Service wasn’t brilliant, two times a waitress walked away from our table to do something else. Can’t say I’m fussed about returning.

   The place is nice, was there for a business meal with colleagues from the US. It was fairly cold and the door next to our table was left open despite wind and heavy rain, we closed it ourselves. The glassware particularly for water is quite stained following washing without using a rinse aid, the table was a little dirty, and the gents toilet leaves a lot to be desired. The food is great as is the idea of searing it yourself to your liking. As it is a reasonable price to dine there you would expect better quality wines and the service whilst friendly was quite over familiar, using terms such as ‘darlin’ and ‘love’ during service being a touch inappropriate. Overall a decent experience but could be so much better.

   Waited about 15 mins for drinks to arrive at table, then when it came to order more noone came to the table so we had to go to the bar and order! Chips were very dry! Nice fillet and salad.

    We stumbled upon Forge Black Rock and Steakhouse whilst visiting Derby and decided to book a table on Saturday night, we spoke with the owner who was extremely helpful and explained that if we booked a Bar table then we could easily change to sit outside if we wanted to. The staff were very attentive and explained how the menu worked and which cuts of meat people new to the Hot Stone experience usually have. At no point did we feel rushed and we’re in there for nearly 3 hours as the experience shouldn’t be rushed and the food and ambience should be enjoyed without haste. After our food we stayed and enjoyed a drink in the outside seating area and chatted to other diners who were as equally as friendly as the staff. Overall an enjoyable experience that we would definitely recommend.

    A long wait for starters to come out and the steak knifes were terrible. It was also cold in the restaurant before they opened the doors for the entertainment. My first drink, coke zero tasted like soda water so had to send back. Been before and enjoyed it but on thus occasion it was nowhere near as good which was a shame as it was for my sons 16th birthday.

    The steak was mainly fat and gristle and fairly tasteless without a lot of salt. If I wanted to cook my own steak I would have stayed at home. The whole way of doing this made it vet unappetising.

    Staff were lovely! Very helpful & attentive. Food was a but logistically flawed. I like my steak rare and As I was cutting it was searing the steak further, over cooking it. The plates didn’t arrive I until later on. Chips were a bit soggy. Onion rings were delicious!

    When we arrived we asked to be seated by the window as it was a nice evening. The server, Janice told us this wasn’t possible as the online table plan didn’t allow for it. We found this quote strange and asked if we could speak to a manager about moving- Janice told us there was no manager available and refused to move us. We assumed this must mean that all the other booked tables were larger parties and so left it. We were then told by another waitress that Janice was in fact a manager herself. When the other tables arrived, each table was a party of 2 and so it would have made no difference at all if we had been moved to the window- especially as Janice had told us that no other booking had specified a window seat. The service was incredibly slow; tables who had been seated after us were eating their meals before our chicken wings starter even arrived. The table next to us had finished and a new party half way through their starters before our mains even arrived. We had to ask 3 times for the water we had ordered to drink. The food was good and it was good value, however after telling the waitress I was gluten intolerant and requesting a GF meal she did put a side order containing gluten on my plate. Thankfully she realised before I ate any and it was removed. We found Janice quote rude and unaccommodating.

    I was highly recommended this place by a couple of friends but the experience was awful. Took 40 minutes for myself and 3 guests to get our first order of drinks (which they put down to a technical issue on the tills) but one of the servers told us it’s because they gave our drinks to someone else. The starters came out before the drinks were even served, never had this happen anywhere else before. Partner had the rump steak, a good 40% of it was pure fat and inedible. My mother and I had the chicken, which was charcoaled on the hot stone before it even reached out table, resulting in the chicken being WELL over cooked, tasteless and dryer than the Sahara dessert. There was no room at all to put your cooked steak (or chicken) anywhere other than the hot plate, so even my dad and partners steaks ended up over cooked and the temperature of the food was just ridiculous. Even the stuff that wasn’t on the hot plates. We finally got service attention and ordered a second round of drinks as the mains arrived, they didn’t arrive until AFTER we flagged two more servers down and RE ordered, by which point we had finished our mains (what we could eat) and were ready to pay the bill. Starters were on point, but mains, sides and all round service with drinks (lack of) was just appalling, especially for the prices on the menu. We did receive some discount of our bill but we left on empty stomachs, which you do not expect after spending £120 (after discount). They could put it down to ‘being busy’ on a Saturday, but they have been open long enough to prepare for how busy they are going to be, and there was plenty of wait staff (sometimes stood around doing nothing whilst people were waiting to place orders). Definitely will not be returning.

    The price range between a steak was good from £50 to £20 I had a £20 steak I thought it was not going to be a great steak because I went for a cheap one but in my eyes when it landed in front of me it looked like a very expensive steak and once I cooked it to how I wanted it absolutely delicious plus the onion rings was so large and lovely home made chunky chips the only down side was it got really smoky in the restaurant once everyone was cooking their steaks they only had one small air vent but apart from that everything was fantastic I’ll be going back again

    Not convinced it was value for money. Service was slow even though hardly anyone was in the restaurant ! Puddings were disappointing as the menu said the chocolate fudge came warm but it was stone cold. I did give this feedback at the time.

    I've got to say unfortunately the meal was let down by the poor service. It took over 20 minutes for anyone to come to the table to ask about food or drinks order. Tying to get another drink was again very hard, but then tried to clear out dishes when we were even finished with our food. But I have to say the Food was amazing. Beautifully cooked. No complaints can be make about the food.

    My 7th or 8th visit brilliant every time. A little increase in prices since COVID. 3.5 for the gravy per personseemed a little excessive but all in all a great venue will be back
