The Forest Hotel is a boutique hotel and bar with 12 luxury bedrooms and an award-winning Gastro-Pub restaurant, located in the heart of Dorridge, directly opposite the train station. An 1870's coach house turned boutique hotel, The Forest Hotel bridges traditional with contemporary. Our cosy fine dining restaurant offers a wide selection of meals - ranging from our Pub Classics and Famous Chicken Wings to our award winning Sunday Roasts and our delightful Lunch menu, which changes weekly.

                      We have been really impressed with this restaurant and have been regulars for Sunday lunch and weekday lunches for some years. However it just seems that prices seem to increase almost every time we go lately and recently the food has been generally disappointing . Today fish and chips and the fish was seriously undercooked , grey and small for £19. All the accompaniments were good though. I am sure it will get its mojo back and it is still hugely popular so they must be doing something right!

                      In hindsight, Saturday evening was a bad time to go. The bar was very noisy and staff understandably stretched. This meant the service was lacking and we had to chase up missing sides. The fillet of beef was delightful and there was nothing wrong with the children's sausage dinner. However, the "famous" chicken wings were really disappointing - covered in far too much sauce and bloody within. I mentioned this and pointed out the blood in every wing I'd bitten into but was promptly dismissed and told that wasn't possible as the wings were precooked. Left more than half on my plate. I'd have gladly shared this feedback but at no point during or after the meal were we asked how it was. The answer? A mixture of delicious and inedible. Wife definitely won with her choice.

                      As in previous visits, we all enjoyed our Sunday roasts with all the trimmings and a good selection of vegetables. The choice of desserts was limited but staff did provide ice cream as an alternative to the "heavier" offers. Prompt and friendly service was much appreciated.
