Great meal and resto, we did have a delay in getting seated, probably 20 minutes after the reservation time but the Flying Steamshovel kindly offered complimentary drinks, much appreciated. Eclectic menu but something for everyone.

Decent bar food. They were out of IPA's which was very disappointing. Also out of Tacos and another item we were interested in having. Monday eve after a busy weekend but still.

Every time we go to The Shovel, we are well received. Our food came quickly, it was fresh and the server was extremely friendly. Thanks very much.

We loved this place. A group of seven of us. Four adults and three kids. The staff was attentive and accommodating. The cocktails were so good and everyone was very happy with the food. We will back on our next visit for sure!

Not sure if I'd return to The Flying Steamshovel as a family with teens or children. When I reserved through OpenTable I was not asked if I had minors. The Flying Steamshovel has a policy that minors can only sit in a very limited part of the restaurant. So when we arrived, the waiter who greeted us was not impressed that we had minors as the table they had reserved for us was in the 'wrong' section. He's manner was that it was our fault for not telling them. How were we to know? There was a side room of the main pub section that had no atmosphere and was brightly lit. One family was already seated it there. Luckily, a table in the main 'family' area was just leaving so we sat here instead. The BC law states that minors cannot be in a pub past 9.30pm. All other pubs that we have been in do not limit where minors can go in their establishment as long as they are out by 9.30pm. So not sure if this a Rossland Bylaw or just The Flying Steamshovel not wanting minors to be seen all over the place in their pub. Of note, my daughter had to cross into the 'adult' section to use the washroom. Oops!

Thanks for the great dinner which was part of celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary. The service was outstanding! The Steamshovel was the first place we visited 6 years ago when we were looking to move to this great town! It keeps getting better every year.

Cheers

Prices have gone up and food was mediocre at best. We used to go monthly at least, and this was our first time back in quite a while. Service was amazing, though!

My blue cheeseburger was good but quite overdone, beyond safe.

Our out of town guests loved it! They loved the fish and chips and the Moscow mules.

Super food and service. I had a flight of 4 flavorful beers, served on a paddle, arranged in order from lightest to darkest and labeled with the names of each. Next up: tacos, 4 different ones (chicken mole, bean, beef, duck), all scrumptious but especially the duck confit. The boy had a burger with carmelized onions and BBQ sauce, he liked it. The girl ordered chicken wings which we could have eaten forever.
We were seated at a high table by the stage. Would have been less noisy than the main room, were it not for the adjacent table full of 40-somethings who seemed to be having a roudy conversation about zambonis.
Service was friendly. We would definitely return.
