Good food but service not as good . Waitress knocked a drink all over me wasn’t offered a free one, waitresses kept sending desserts to wrong tables.

They did even know I had booked through Open Table - your booking system doesn’t work - pretty poor. They weren’t even expecting us, just as well they weren’t busy!!

It seems to have gone down hill since we last dined there. We were not impressed and seemed a bit of a shambles despite the efforts of some of the staff. It was the worst Sunday roast we've had!! We were not impressed !

It became very busy and therefore service was a little slow. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good choice of food, although the salad served in place of fries, was hardly imaginative! We will return, as it’s a good place to catch up with friends. The sign on the approach road could do with being illuminated as, if you don’t know where you’re going, it’s easily missed in the dark.

Although the quality of the food was nice, all of our group was disappointed with the portions of the roast dinner. One piece of carrot and one piece of roast parsnip is mean on a dinner! Items such as stuffing were missing completely. All felt hungry after the main meal, and none of us are what you would call big eaters. Felt very disappointed overall.

The booking was efficient and table was reserved when we arrived. Typical Vintage Inn. Our order took 1 hour to arrive. Would expect no more than 40 mins - we are sure our server 'lost' our order. Fillet steak was cooked ok but not normal fillet texture.

After several good visits to the Flying Fox this was by far our worst experience. Initially there was difficulty booking a table and we ended up with two reservations. When we got there it became very clear that there was a definite shortage of staff on duty. This meant there was a delay in taking our order and then it took longer than has been our experience in the past for our food to arrive at the table and the place didn't seem particularly busy. Finally nobody came to clear our plates once we had finished and thus we were not asked about desserts. Finally I had to go to the bar and ask for the bill. We will go back to eat there again and hopefully the good level of service will have been reinstated. If we have another bad experience then it's Goodbye Flying Fox. Finally if you wonder why I didn't make these comments on the day there appeared to be nobody in charge.

Open table failed yet again. Although we had a reference number, the restaurant did not. This also happened to us at the otter. The restaurant fitted us in which was lucky as they were busy. The food was spot on again. Sunday roast perfect. Service second to none. Drinks a puddings spot on.
