   We had a table booked for 8pm on a Friday night, as we were shown to our table were told we needed to order quickly as they were getting ready to close the kitchen. We then waited 45mins for our meal to arrive. We were made to feel very unwelcome as they rang the bell for last orders at 10.10pm

   The food was absolutely lovely but the service was slow. People waited a long time for a drink. We were not offered the dessert menu, a second round of drinks or an after dinner coffee.

   We hadn’t been for a while but decided to go for Sunday lunch and we really enjoyed it they also accommodated my gluten free diet which was great 👍

   Highly recommend this for Sunday lunch. First time we have been and will definitely be back. Food was excellent and great portions. Staff very attentive and helpful. Looking forward to try Toast and also the new evening menu.

   For the first time ever, I was disappointed with our meal last night. There were a few people in the bar area but the restaurant was dark, looking shut and cold with just the snug tables open. This of course is fine but what was really disappointing was the food. The menu was very basic and limited for the first time. The chips were dry, cold and over cooked and the fish did not taste fresh or great batter. There was no offer of more drinks and after plates were taken away there was no attendance. We certainly felt the place had gone down a great and will look elsewhere next time

   We had Sunday lunch here just before Christmas and it was excellent, however on our on our recent visit we were very disappointing. 2 of us ordered Pork, when it arrived my Son in Law commented that it was like 2 rashers of Bacon and frankly it was not much bigger. We mentioned this to the waitress who said "it depends on how many bookings we have" the food was barely warm enough to eat and even colder by the time the Vegetables arrived. So sadly a pretty poor experience on this visit.

   Food was great and the pub itself was nice but the service was incredibly slow and some staff appeared entirely disinterested. It took 35 minutes to order our first drinks and overall it was 2 and a half hours for 6 to eat lunch.

   Very disappointing. We’ve always loved this place and regularly dined there, but apparently it has had “management” changes. All the normal staff have disappeared! Food is now pub grub with a very limited menu. Everything with chips! Service was poor, we were not offered desserts or coffee and had to go and ask for bill on the way out, even though only 3 tables were occupied on a Saturday night. Will not be returning. Such a shame as it was a great place before.

   We’ve been here many times and loved the food, I’d say it was leaps and bounds above average pub grub. What we had was lovely. However, the menu seemed quite basic for some reason - we’re used to seeing scallops, mussels, exciting fish dishes etc. The menu yesterday wasn’t very imaginative - scampi in a basket was very 70’s and not really what we’re used to from this gastro pub.

    Service was good, quick and polite. Some of the items were expensive and not all items were available. My first choice was not available, my second choice was not as described in the menu. My third choice was a homemade meat pie - nicely cooked - chips and seasonal vegetables. The vegetables were disappointing. I only got two types, in other places you get three or four. On arrival, for drinks we were only given a choice of alcoholic drinks and had to request which non alcoholic drinks were available. There did not seem to be any small portions for young children.
