Service and Food - mixed - sometimes our waiter was excellent, but sometimes he disappeared. We were 30 minutes late due to heavy traffic coming into the city and we had a 7:30 showing at Hamilton. We arrived at 6:05pm and had an hour for dinner - doable, not as relaxing as wanted, but still doable. I ordered a salad, which never came (didn't say anything since we were pressed for time) and our food came out fairly quickly. My salmon was good, but my son and daughter's gnocchi was just so-so - not awful, but not very good. My husband's filet was good. Dessert - tiramisu was more of a pudding - interesting and good, but not great and the donut holes were ok - my family liked them, I thought they tasted too greasy.

Hostess - EXCELLENT - she was very kind and helpful as we were very stressed with the bumper to bumper traffic. She said not a problem pushing our 5:30 reservation to 6pm and sat us at a nice booth. Very friendly, personable and professional.

They're on the second floor of the Marriott with valet! Nice walkable location to the theater.

It was a bit noisy and the line to get in was out the door, but man, service was excellent and the food was good too! My friend and I had a 12pm reservation. She only had 45 minutes to eat and noted this to our friendly waiter. Our waiter put in our order right away and we were out of the restaurant by 12:45 p.m. - perfect timing. The food was exactly what we needed on this cold, wet, day - warm, delicious and comforting. I'll definitely be back!

This is a very good restaurant and a surprise to find it in a hotel. I am from out of town, but do business in Chicago 2-3 times a year and stay in the area. I keep coming back. Food is very good, wine list would be excellent, but for the pricing, which is slightly high. Staff are good and attentive without being overly so. Last, very conducive setting to meet with colleagues or clients and be able to talk. Room is nice, if a bit sterile, but again, it is in a hotel. Overall very good, but not quite excellent.

The occasion was a family dinner. The service was good and the menu seemed nice and I was excited when we ordered. But the food was unbearably salty. I wasn’t the only one that thought so. I think it was san marzano tomato sauce. I don’t think I’d eat there again.

Food was average at best. The server was noticeably absent. At the end of our meal I looked at my watch. It took a full 20 minutes before anyone came by and acknowledged us, offered desert or refilled waters. Many other great Italian restaurants in Chicago. Don't waste your time or appetite here.

Very good food.

Service was not up to par and yet they added 20% because we had a party of six. Two members of our party had to take their food with them because it took over 40 minutes from the time we ordered to the time it came out.

The food was very good, but until they can get a business lunch cadence down, we won't be back.

We are there twice during our stay in Chicago. We had the same server both times. She was awesome! I don't remember her name but our receipt says she's Nama 435. Food was excellent. Wine was excellent. We will be back our next trip to Chicago?

We made a lunch reservation for 2:30pm. What OpenTable does NOT tell you is that this restaurant is open at 2:30 - but the kitchen shuts down from 2pm until dinner and there is only a small appetizer menu available. Since we specifically chose this restaurant to try the menu, this was disappointing. We will try again as the atmosphere was very nice.

We went after Touring the Sears/Willis Tower. I was able to make a reservation for a Saturday night that morning. The food was pricey, as was indicated $$$, it was good. The waiter was attentive, but it was not crowded at all. Which was great for us, not as great for the restaurant. We shared a salad, had the scallops and salmon and for dessert an affogato and sorbetto. The tab with no drinks and a tip was $130 for two. A great evening.

Food was very good, service acceptable, ambiance quiet and conversation friendly on a Saturday evening (this hotel restaurant is in the financial district, so busiest during the week) -- all very favorable. However, very over-priced compared to comparable quality free-standing restaurants. Will not dine there again.

We work downtown and went for a birthday lunch. The service and timing outstanding. Was expensive for our options of salad and soup however. They brought dessert for my friend and her birthday celebration which was lovely. She did not like her appetizer of Figs which was not as described on the menu.
Chosen for a nice setting and quiet for conversation and it delivered on that.
Would recommend for business lunch on expense account.

We had Sunday brunch at the Florentine. We were seated promptly and once we ordered, our food came in a timely manner. I ordered 2 eggs which came with plenty of sides. The scrambled eggs were moist and beautifully plated along with salad greens, bacon, 3 roasted potatoes , and toast. The other two orders were buttermilk pancakes which came with a lemon curd sauce, blueberry sauce, syrup and granola. Sauces were tasty. All in all, great experience.

We went to Florentine for a pre-theatre dinner. The cocktails were excellent (Hemingway in Paris for me and Peanut butter infused Old Fashioned for my husband). We had the mozzarella appetizer and my husband had the Bronzini entree and I had the proscuitto wrapped salmon. Excellent food. Our server Jelena was amazing and offered to place a half order of pasta just so we could taste the home-made pasta. Great service, excellent food, beautiful interior, quiet and romantic. A bit overpriced but the theater district always is.

Great spot for a business lunch. Not as noisy as most restaurants downtown at that time of day and the tables are spread out so you can have a conversation without the neighboring table hearing everything.

Limited menu due to Marathon.
Risotto had no protein or vegetables in it. Either would have improved it. It had some spice that was little sticks. Lots of them. Good thing I love risotto. Pepsi products? Really?! Ew.
Server was FABULOUS. Restaurant is GORGEOUS.

 (Western KY)·Dined on October 8, 2017

We were visiting from out of town and were so excited to try their food. But when we got there we found that they had a limited menu due to the marathon. Not quite sure why because they were not busy at all. But we were pretty disappointed because we couldn't order anything we wanted to order. We stayed because we figured it would be hard to find something else last minute on a Saturday night.

The service was great. Our waiter was friendly and gave good recommendations for wine and even brought us each an extra glass to try. So I don't fault him for anything but the food itself was very lackluster.

We both had the Bolognese and could barely find any meat. We ordered meatballs to try and add to it but the meatballs weren't even good so we didn't even want to finish them. I think the waiter noticed that we were disappointed so they didn't charge us for the meatballs.
I just expected everything to be better quality for the price. I would consider giving it another try on a regular night but there are so many places in Chicago that I imagine are better.

The service was definitely good though and the flavors were good just lacking in overall quality and not worth the price.

The food was good, not great, but the positive review ends there. We ordered an appetizer and entrees. Our waiter let us know it’d be a little bit of a wait but it was a wait. We waiting 75+ minutes for the entrees which were brought out without a word from our waiter. Seemed like the staff was slow and everyone was getting frustrated. I won’t be going back.

Good Italian, quiet at start, packed by the end, comfortable and accommodating for our 2 kids. All the food was tasty and better than anticipated. Restaurants in hotels sometimes get a bad rep but Florentine's exceeded our expectations.

Excellent preparations of many different options. My wife and I are eating carb free these days so did not try the homemade pasta (to our chagrin). We found many other options including sea food and many nice antipasti options. Good wine list, medium expensive. We liked this dining experience.
