The food and service were outstanding. This was the perfect location for a business lunch. I would highly recommend it for business or social occasions.
Food was good. Not great. Service was sketchy. Server took our drink order but didn’t bring them. Person who brought our salads ended up bringing them after we asked.
Horrible we were staying at the hotel and decided to have a nice dinner
The food was fair my husband lamb chops were ordered
Med and we’re raw at the bone
Very small and portion at 44 OO
Which is not a real problem
Let me tell you the worst !!!!
I observed many many times !!!!!! the waiter
Constantly rubbing his nose with his hand !!!!!!! Scratching his head which is wrong in the food industry !
This all made me sick to my stomach and still does at the thought
COVID time this is Unexepytable!!!!! Or any time !!!
My whole weekend was ruined we had to stay two nights
Dining at The Folrentine was a MASSIVE disappointment. The service was slow and the food lacked any sense of character, overall a horrible experience.
I am (unfortunately) hoping that our server was the only one on staff and they were very busy, because we could not get any service from them, and it took about 30 minutes from when we finished our meal to when we were asked if we wanted the check.
- Hummus, it tasted as though the hummus was watered down
- Fritto Misto, came with TWO pieces of shrimp and TOO many vegetables
- Ricotta Gnocchi, the spinach was overwhelming and the Gnocchi themselves were mush
- Paperdelle (w/braised short rib & parmesan), tasted like nothing... was essentially oversalted roast beef on noodles
- cheese cake, they brought angel food cake
- espresso, was DELICIOUS
Suffice to say, avoid The Folrentine.
The only redeeming quality, was the server assistant, he went out of his way to take care of us. When the server did not take care of our empty plates after passing by many times, the server assistant cleared our table and offered dessert and coffee.
Very nice potential.
The space, hostess and the server were all excellent.
It took a pretty long time to be acknowledged once I was seated.
And then food to a bit more of forever…to arrive
I think they were short staffed and swamped by larger tables—but I was paying too, right?
The salad was nice
Main entree was over cooked when I asked for medium (I was too worn out by the wait to say anything…)
Dessert was luscious
Way too pricey for the food quality
Excellent risotto with scallops… tasty white pizza… quiet with few diners… attentive but unobtrusive service!
Food was delicious and well prepared. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere.
My husband likes to try different beers and asked if they could give us a flight. She asked a few questions, make a rec and we went with it...4 minutes later she brought 5 varieties to try. EVERYthing was personalized and wonderful in the truest sense. View of the Rookery, private table. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My risotto made me tear up. Genius.
Drinks are great, food is good too. Nice slinky environment.
Service was amazing! Quiet and cozy space , great food!
Server didn’t know the dinner and happy hour specials which was frustrating. Retraining is needed.
Food is consistently good and is a great option for a business luncheon. We had particularly good service from a great waiter during this business meeting much.
Egg omelette was flavorless. Other food adequate. Easy location and pleasant service
Convenient in jw marriott. Nice space. Very friendly staff. Food was fine. We had caesar salads which were fresh. Shared gnocci with short rib dish which was very good. Portions are small though and prices high for what they give you.
Don't go if you want servers or employees to wear masks.
I asked for Chicken Caesar salad, got chicken vinaigrette instead!
Food server was inattentive and forget about our order twice. Shockingly bad experience. Food was bland.
I now see why we got in at the last minute on a Saturday night.
Great food and atmosphere
Overall a good experience, I would say for the price point and atmosphere the waitstaff could have been a little more experienced, things seems a bit disorganized and would be a bit intrusive by serving under people’s arms. But they were very friendly which we appreciated. Food was great but the hummus had a bit too much oil poured on top. Would have been great had that not been added.
The side of broccolini was amazing and the calamari starter was my favorite. I’d recommend the Fritto Misto(calamari) antipasti and the Dragon’s Breath cocktail.
Their breakfast food is really good! I would recommend the waffles with berries compost. I tried their special which was a lobster pasta and it was delicious! Great ambiance for a date night or intimate gathering
Served as a very good last minute call for Mothers Day. Had moderate expectations and they slightly exceeded those.
Great Food, Great Waiter’s, Great Drinks, Great place!!!
went for lunch with a prospect. Food was awful, prices were obnoxious. Not the first time. Never been that great (but for location). Thought pandemic might have 'scared them straight'. Appaently not.
Heard breakfast is better
Everyone to the bartender was so nice and accommodating!
Great atmosphere, good for quiet business lunches or dinners, very spacious inside for social distancing. Top knotc food options, great wine selection. Will definitely be back.
A very attractive decor. Well laid out for covid restrictions. Service was prompt and attentive. Food selection was limited due to covid, but represented a good selection. Readily accessible connected to the J W Marriott. Overall an excellent experience.
Menu was not as advertised on open table. Food was over salted. Cocktail menu was "out" because yesterday was busy....
Not worth the expense. A million italian restaurants in Chicago that are better.
Our server was awesome! Very friendly gentleman!
Loved the experience! Classy food, classy atmosphere, classy service
Happy with my visit 🧿🤞🏻
I used to eat here a lot and I understand that the pandemic has hit everyone pretty hard. However, it took over 15 minutes for our server to come over and ask if we were ready to order...
I appreciate their being open and I will try them again based on so many good past experiences but I hosted two people for lunch and they were more than underwhelmed...
Great food and excellent service. Very good adherence to the COVID rules and requirements.
Resraurant has no dine in and we had to drove 45mins
Amazing Amazing !!!
While it was operating with a skeleton crew, the service was great. Great pizza.
Server was amazing and made a delicious drink that was off the menu. Food was delicious.
We enjoyed our friendly waiter
Fantastic restaurant and staff!
Excellent! I hope they can make it through the shutdown
Our meals were very tasty. The portion size was perfect. Service was impeccable. I would recommend the Florentine to everyone. I definately plan on eating there again soon.
Staff was rude and condescending. I asked to switch tables and was met with the condescending attitude of the staff telling me I should be happy with the table that was given to me and that I am beginning to sound ungrateful. I thought this manner of speaking to me was completely unnecessary and wrong. It seemed everything was a problem--by the end I couldn't wait to get out of there. Totally unpleasant and the staff did an excellent job at making my girlfriend and me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.
